Hello!

Been wanting to do this for a while but not until recently i got reminded by PG&C legend blakkman08 to do one have i got around to it! So here goes...

My name is John and i play MTTs as kind of a semi-reg under the name Shamwoww on stars and jsham23 on FTP/iPoker. I play way too little to be considered a reg (more than 10 tables and i start to fizzle out) but do try and play as much as i can while balancing university - studying a Bachelor of Business/Commerce and majoring in Sports Management.

I used to work at Sydney's STAR Casino as a poker dealer but quit in Feb (best decision evarrrrrr - you know what i mean if you have been to the place) and I am a maniacal Liverpool FC fan and love sports in general. Got to visit earlier in the season when we beat Palace 3-1 at home (Everton lost to City same day lolz) and was so happy that i loved the city of Liverpool as much as i did. Would of hated to have a bad experience there but the people were amazing, the City is beautiful and the team is the ****ing nuts. So pretty safe to say I'm the lucky charm having seen them live for the first time in Melbourne (best night of my life) and then at Anfield for the first time and now we're on the verge of the league title.

On to poker! Ever since the beginning of 2012 i have looked to improve and make a bit of money playing this game. Previously, i was a constant donator and laughably bad. I found out about RunItOnce and since then i have turned a lot of corners and improved a **** ton. Also, i must thank my main man Miguel (kingmiguel3) who got me a staking deal and instantly gave me freedom and confidence to play despite not putting in the volume and hours other horses could provide him.

Right now i'm playing low/midstakes stuff on FTP/Stars and playing iPoker on my own to grind out some more money. You can either find me there or needling people in the chat box/talking random crap. I think the chat box is a terrific weapon to have in your poker game. Tilted people can get much more tilted with a few choice words. Plus its a **** load of fun too!

Don't really have any goals or anything but i guess as a part time job/hobby i hope to make at least 15k this year to pocket and pay for some expenses and maybe fund a trip to England to meet up with Miguel for a month + catch some Liverpool games while i'm there. Would love to see a Champions League game so fingers crossed.

Hahaha I had to spend a couple hours and even asked a few people on Skype to help me with TN as my chat box wasn't working. I wasn't happy. But fixed the problem now!

Don't think I'll be seen by most people for a couple weeks. Playing only Sundays (omg carnival weeeeeek!) and then the b16.50-b$33 time during week. Daylight savings here in Sydney right now is amazing. B16.50 starts at 5:30pm so I can come home and play after uni.

First update!

First time i've played since starting the thread and made some nice runs but nothing glorious at the end.

21st $33 $5k
24th $27.50 500 cap $2.5k
25th $33 $3.5k
40th Carnival b16.50 with $6k ftw

Been playing really well lately. Loving it and long may it continue. Ran deep in the b55 on Sunday, FT'd the nightly $55 and b33 on sunday recently too so a really nice score is on the way. In the mean time just staying afloat with small wins and small losing sessions.

So hopefully i can get some work done on assignments between now and Monday and have time to grind out something. Got an Accounting assignment and a Sports Management assignment due next week. Although the sports assignment is pretty much a Football Manager style program so after logging about 4 billion hours playing that game i'm praying i get a great mark! Accounting can ead tho obv.

And the pride in beating one heroic individual HU was especially pleasing. Furthermore, destroyed that FT. As i would hope in something this soft but nice to do it all the same.



Final hand after he was berating me for being a micro donk. This + his superb 50bb shove HU with AQ vs one 3b was terrific.



Also finished 36th in the h33 and a bunch of other small cashes. Mainly in turbos

Last table now in the 27.50 500cap. Just got in the money so lets hope i'm back in here reporting another victory soon

Pretty ****ty weekend overall. 130th in the Storm and a few cashes to be break even and relatively MU free.

And Liverpool lost. Proper shattered. Haven't touched a highlights show, article or anything. Hurts too much to relive it.

Built stacks for blakkman08 and ONLYRAISEAA in the ipoker majors but busted near the money in all three.

Been on a uni bender since Monday. Haven't slept in 31 hours and two hours away from being home. Have a ****ty partner for a group assignment so I'm doing all the work which is terrific.

Anyways hopefully I can get all my work done by Friday and I can enjoy the weekend!

I don't mind missing them too but its always fun to play them as well. Only got my eye on a few events - the 27c and the the action hour. The progressives will be fun too!

Such great potential today.

7th 27 PKO turbo for about 1.2k inc bounties - 7k plus massive bounties up top.
9th 11r FTP - 2k up top got rivered for nice stack in both of these.

400th in the Warm Up - had a massive stack in this pretty much the whole way until bust.
200th b11 - just kept getting it in good and then losing, building back up and same thing until QQ < TT.
200th b55.

Tried a handful of satties and luckily won a milly, warm up and b162 ticket so was nice.

Pretty much built a stack in everything today which was great. Could of won a ton of money but just being competitive in these fields is reassuring. Especially the warm up where I was battling a bit with Faraz Jaka, j_t_s80 and a few other good regs. Felt great.

In the end made about $1k today and get to chop it. Lovely.

Now all we need is a Palace 0-10 Liverpool scoreline. Please and thank you.
