Combine that with the rest of my x/c range that will have either sdv or equity, together with coverage for most runouts, and solid fundamentals on the turn and river - I'd like to know what strategy you would use as the preflop raiser that can be deemed "absurdly easy".
im not sure that's even possible and i really do not care ,

your c/c range would still be capped at bluffcatcher if you c/r'd all sets and 2ps

This really helps with understanding why some sc's and suited gappers are good to have in my 3b range. Thanks Ron!

Yeah of course, each to his own. I just prefer to not take caffeine and not bothered about coffee.

Mini Update.

Back from family vacation which was fantastic. Great to spend time with my wife and two young kids as a family unit just having fun!

Got a small amount of work to do on one house which tenant is moving into on Monday hopefully.

13 days to go until CFP starts - whoopee!!! In the mean time I have got normal work of course , charity golf day (includes many beers ), horse racing day (includes even more beers ), romantic weekend for anniversary with wife (includes ??? ). So plenty of relax and fun before hitting poker H A R D!!!!

Not been at the tables at all, just watching some videos (Champions Stand Up), commenting on hands, reading blogs, reading No BS 6m.

Still undecided on how to split my playing hours up once I start but can discuss this with Gordon once we get going.

GL everyone!

Drive

I am constantly thinking about success and fulfilment... Trying to get a deep enough knowledge to give myself the greatest chance of achieving these things (and then once I have achieved them myself, helping others to achieve them).

After reading several articles I have noticed a recurring theme that I liked (although it was only in half of the articles) and will share with you guys.

All of the articles talked about Rewards and Accountability. If I relate these to poker an example of Reward would be to buy yourself a treat with your winnings or to share your results with your friends (could get really deep into this sometime too) and an example of Accountability could be having an accountability group or having a partner and giving them a sum of money that is important to you and they only return it if you complete the task.

It seems to me these two things are excellent Drivers but more especially in the shorter term.

Over the longer term it seems there is a third Driver that determines success... The Flow.

In a book called Drive by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi he talks about getting into The Flow. It talks about being immersed in what we do and this being tantamount in determining long term success. The Flow encompasses three things:-

1. Mastery - Fall in love with improvement. Track your progress and treat every session as an opportunity to improve.

2. Purpose - Become part of something big. Give to other people. Join a community and share your story with other people (you will be surprised how much you can motivate other people).

3. Enjoyment - Try to make the things you do as much fun as possible. Make mini-games and challenges out of your study and play.

This is already TL;DR but its just an example of the sort of things I am constantly working on.

Most of the points in here encompass a million more points but hopefully some of you will enjoy reading my ramblings!!

GL!

KP.

Thx for the link to the video. Very interesting. I remember being in "the flow" while playing backgammon, back when I was very good. Often the fingers were making the checker moves before the logical brain said okay. Applying this to poker is a bit different, especially because Hero wins a hand so infrequently. Maybe if I redefined things so I can "win" each hand. Like "congrats, you folded trash, unlike villans", and "congrats, you didn't try to bluff a calling station this time", etc.

So you're getting into an intensive coaching course with Gordon, KP?

Saw his champions stand up.. series and seems very interesting.

Best of luck and talk on skype how you're progressing.

KP, second monitors should mostly be plug and play with a bit of display settings adjustment. If you need help and you're on Windows I can TV you.

You going to play poker on two separate monitors? Wouldn't one larger one be better? I can't get used to swinging my eyes back and forth between two of them but maybe you will do better

I don't think so.
You might have to buy a graphics card in order to get 2 monitors to work. There are some adapters, but i don't know if they work.

2560x1440 is good for having 6 tables. If there's no second monitor, you keep lobby under those tables.
I have 2560x1440 + Full HD. I sometimes add 2 more tables to the Full HD monitor, but if i play 6 tables i use it for scanning lobbies.

Yeah definitely should be at least getting some short sessions in to keep fresh. All the study in the world doesn't keep you game fresh.
