Quick update post (for own benefit!).....

Back to games after ~6 week gap working on houses.....

Bankroll is $689.77.

Currently taking a 5 buy in shot at NL25 which I started at $750 (so will move down at $625). Am considering changing this to 6 BI shot for ease of numbers!

Played last night and this morning at NL10 just to get back into the swing of things. Will prolly do same tonight.

I am still setting some goals for this month but will post some hands from this morning to get me going.....

Hand #1 - KQs in SB v CO, XR flop and barrel...

Hand #2 - Turn action and sizes with JJ over pair

Hand #3 - Cbetting GS + overs

September Goals

Goal 1 - Play 70 hours total
Changing this from just a number of hands to a number of hours. Sometimes I will play up to 9 tables but sometimes I will play 4.

Goal 2 - Make 2 videos for review and get them done!
I am very fortunate that one player from BPC has just offered to review my game for me so I need to make a video for him.
Also, I just remembered I was offered this some months ago by someone else so I will be a bit cheeky and see if he will still do it for me!!

Goal 3 - Have second lesson of my coaching.
Had one lesson of five some time ago (maybe 3 months) so will prepare some work for part 2.

Goal 4 - Post 3 hands to forums daily (when played).
This worked very well for me so far so would like to continue with this.

Goals Update 4.9.2013

Goal 1 = 70 hours in September
Hours played to date = 9.2 (13%). Month is 13% old so bang on!!

Goal 2 = Get reviews done
No progress

Goal 3 = Get part 2 of coaching

Small sample but happy with volume.

The original comeback after the break was awful but getting back into it now. I have played too many tables probably but I am happy with my progress.

Think I have been calling too much with decent/marginal hands against passive villains who are value betting mostly stronger hands.

It is all NL10 too. I wanted to start there after the break and am being a bit of a nit! Will move up to NL25 very soon!!

Small sample but was hoping to do better and go straight back to my NL25 shot. I am playing too many tables tbh. Will just get Silver Star back and $50 Stellar Reward (very close to this) then will move up again and 4-6 table NL25.

Lost four hours of play last night/this morning due to severe acid reflux!

Feel such a wimp! 2.75 hours sleep but at least it has gone now.

preeflop: raise the limpers Ip for sure with Q9s.. bet flop and turn.. xback river.. This is the easiest way to play this runout.. he can have tons of other stuff than Kx..(fish)

flat preeflop is good here in my book(at these stakes)
flop: make a small raise, we would hate if the gutshot it and he stacks us..just raise small they cant fold..(even tho we are never bluffing with a small raise) but they dont know that

#17.. rare plays like this is the nuts always.. if he is a reg then this play is never a bluff.

Progress Update...

I am now back taking shot at NL25

I will play 4 to 6 tables of NL25 exclusively and move down if I drop to $600. I will move up when I get to $1500

I am feeling super confident! Not particularly that I will succeed with this shot but that I am doing all that I can to improve and be successful over the long term.

Might not play until Sunday now. I am best man at a wedding tomorrow so the groom and I are staying at the reception hotel tonight and then staying overnight tomorrow after the wedding with my wife.

I love the x/r.. bet the turn for sure..

Now if I am honest I don't really understand all this but they seem to throw me some money every now and then which is helping to keep me afloat !!
Any one know if it is worth trying to get Goldstar? Is there a way to work out if I am even close to being able to get it?

Shot at NL25 is going well (tiny sample) playing less tables is really helping me to play the player more than my cards (I think). In fact there is a possibility I should play less - I keep ending up at 6 or 7 tables but when I have a fish on my right (yh, bigger then me!) I find it hard to leave. Think its ok to stay at good tables? Suppose depends if it is affecting my improvement as a player.

Wedding went really well at the weekend, my speech seemed to be well received and I think I kept the groom happy enough!

Played 31.6 hours (45% of target achieved but 55% of month gone !! I blame the wedding!! No, no blame, looking forward to getting this back on track. With coaching and reviewing that will make it even tougher - well bring it on )

Tonight a friend is (kindly) reviewing a video (of me four tabling) with me which I am very excited about. I also have someone else lined up to help me out with a review.

I have just Skyped my coach to see if he can do part two of coaching sessions next Monday.

Played 34 hours which is 48.6%, the month is 61.7% old and I am falling behind!! Surely I will catch this back up!!?? You can bet your little butt I will!

Had a review last night by a great guy and I really enjoyed it - I learned a lot and also cemented some things I was unsure of. Going to make another 4 table video in next couple of days for another kind friend to review.

Who's your coach?

Hi, it is NL__Fool. He has a coaching thread on here but think he has taken the thread off for now as got a lot of students on. Martin used him too in the past.

I am currently writing a short article on self motivation that I think is very applicable to a lot of poker players and/or bloggers. It kind of explains the one (simple) thing that changed me from a total waste of space (ok, slight exaggeration) into a production machine that will be free of the daily grind (life not poker) within 3 years maximum.
