Hello 2+2,

Long time lurker and minimal commenter, my name is Brenden and I've been playing poker pretty casually over almost 8 years. I've had some success in Tournaments, and am trying to get back into poker and better my game.

My goal is to start at $50 playing 1$ Spins up until I reach $150. From there I will play 1-3$ tournaments, and grind up a bankroll to where I can use a 100BI rule.

I'm currently a student finishing my last semester, and have a full time job lined up when i'm complete. My goal is to play Saturday, Monday and Wednesday for the time being! I will be streaming on twitch eventually, but will want to get my setup in order. I will begin by showing results below!

Hello,

Played a little today and things were going pretty poorly. I was running bad. I'm not sure if people usually play regular spins or play flash, but i switched over to flash as i can get more games in and players are pretty questionable in their decision making with hands. This is what my chip graph looked like.

Luckily... I randomly hit a 120$ spin. Unfortunately I got all in heads up with KK and lost to J5.. we were about even in chips. Pretty rough go there.

Ended up also hitting a 240$ one? Sometimes spins can just go really well. I ended up taking this one down

Bankroll: $235

I think despite hitting my goal of getting to $150, I will continue to play some spins to get myself back up to speed. Going to keep riding it out for another few days, and then hop into 1-3$ tournaments early next week! Will keep you all updated.

Cheers,
B

Played a little today and went up $5. I ran really well towards the end, but I played over 50 games and only saw one $5 game.

I want to start streaming a bit, especially when I start easing back into tournaments. Does anyone know the specs that you'd recommend to start streaming? My computer is pretty new, but it's not the best (8gb ram, 2tb hd). Also, I was thinking of using StreamLabs. Any other recommendation or does this seem like the best fit for stars? I was having trouble setting up either a 2 game setup or have it scan one over the other. Let me know! Hope the grind is going well.

Bankroll: $240

Haven't done a ton of grinding over the weekend here. Played a little here and there. I ran really well the last few days for the minimal time ive put in. Hoping to find some hands to post, but its hard when playing flash. Most decisions that are post-flop are quite straight forward.

Played my first tournament session today. Had a few bad plays that I made late in tournaments, and lost a flip in a small 2.50 tournament with 4 left.

Bankroll: $295

Hoping I can get my stream ready to go for tomorrow! I may also start youtubing after my sessions. Not sure if this will help me kind of look back and grow, but seems like not the worst idea!

Hope everyones having a good grinding month so far

ill suggest you play a week at a time and not study your daily monetary results. things are gonna go bad and that will be very taxing on your feelings. especially if yuou look at your runbad stats every single freaking day... do a weekly update and promise yourself to only study hands not the gain/loss. in pt4 you can remo´ve so you cant see the money whatsoever. try with hands/chips instead.

Update here on progress. I played a decent session yesterday,

I got deep in a 2.20 1.5k, and just got in a pretty good spot with KK vs AK preflop with 7 left and lost but it was a good run and I played really well. Unfortunate ending to that, but Im not upset with my play or the result one bit.

I also played this 1.10 750$ guarantee later in the day, ended up getting in a few good spots late and chopped with the final guy for 103$.

Happy with the day altogether. I played this hand with about 60 people left - wasn't sure if I should be hero calling in this situation or not. Weird player, was running at 60/23 over a small sample size of about 40 hands. This shows me that they are a pretty fun player. The overbet on the river led me to believe it was air or a J, but I saw them do 2 check raises on the flop with made hands previously.

Didn't play as much as I wanted the last few days, but put a small session in today and lost about 10$. Got deep in a 3.30 and lost KK to KQ, and then about 30 people left in the 3.30 350-max lost 10s to 2s and then AK to KQ. Can't complain, it'll come!
All is well, didn't play the best early as I blasted off a few buy ins in the 2.20 Bounty Builder Series event.

Just figured out how to get the stream going, so going to start going live in future sessions!

GL at the tables.

Played a bit of Spins last night and then tournaments this morning. Spins went okay, I think I played pretty well but didn't get anywhere money-wise.

Tournaments today were really rough. I played 25 tournaments and only min-cashed 1. I had a few bubble spots where I lost flips or 80/20s that didn't go my way where I would've had a large stack. It's tough to run bad and also come up short sometimes, but today was a different animal. I have to go back and rerun through my hand history today and get ready to fire back up tomorrow morning. We have to learn from the negative experiences because if we continue at the same thing, we won't get anywhere mentally.

On a positive note I'm feeling pretty confident in my midterms next week, and I also just crushed out season 4 of Mr. Robot on Prime. That show is something else... Season 4 is... pretty wild to say the least.

Goodluck at the tables guys, hope everyones having a wonderful Friday.

I have midterms this week so not much of an update. Played a large amount of tournaments on the weekend and couldnt get anything going really. I played about 120 tournaments and then ran some MAX holdem spin and goes. I need to find something more consistent I can turn a profit in, and spins + MAX seem to be quite inconsistent (obviously).

I'm hoping to get back into a groove after tomorrow as I'm done midterms tomorrow. Giants game to watch tmrw night... F*** I hate how the giants lose at the end of games I guess we'll see how tomorrow goes.
