Three weeks ago I quit my job dealing at a large South Florida casino in order to play poker full time. I've been a dealer since 2005 when I was 19 years old. After having a lot of tournament success the last couple years, I've built my reputation well enough to give myself the confidence I've needed to give this a shot full time.
I'm going to be fully staked for all cash games and tourney play ( separately).
I have a wife and a daughter. My wife is a poker dealer as well and the plan is for her to keep us afloat while I try to book some wins and hopefully the occasional huge score.
GOALS:
-Have at least a $50/hr win rate at 2/5NL for the year
-Have at least a $100/hr win rate at 5/10NL for the year
-Have success in tournaments
-Catch up on a lot of debt accumulated by poorly balancing a real job with a theoretical job
Tonight was a really interesting night because I went and played a $350/300k gtd at my casino I just quit. It was my first time back and a lot of the regulars gave me crazy looks and I had to answer a lot of questions.
Unfortunately busted 2 bullets in this tourney, will play again later in the weekend.
Fired another MTT bullet into a $350/300k and bricked. 0-3 in that one with one more shot tomorrow night.
$870 winner in a 1.5 hour 2/5 session though felt nice
