My $2/2 Live graph from all the hours I played in Florida. I wasn’t able to play as much as I would have liked bc my bankroll was decimated so early on in a nearly perpetual downswing.

Even though I failed miserably on the financial side of things, I still would redo this experience over again. I gained some valuable insight as to what I really want and the direction I need to head next.

121 Hours
-$1,767
-$14.50/HR

YUCK!!!

K2 was a blackjack brotha just sitting down after a good night in the pits. My 4-bet with QQ wasn’t going to stop him from gambling.

I get AJ to stick it in pre against AK, but apparently 66 feels he has to tag along.

66 guy can’t fold 76 either in a 3-bet pot. He flops bottom pair, so let’s play for stacks. Lucky for him I only have two-overs and the nut-flush draw.

I am glad the Live torture is over. It was sickening almost every day to wake up and hope it’s not railroad time again. Then at the end of the day with your worst fears being realized, knowing you just dug an even deeper hole. At 20/hands an hour without running well, there is really not a whole lot you can do to dig yourself out in any meaningful time-frame.

So I’m heading back to the vast cornfields of the Midwest. I am really not a fan of the big city being that I was raised in the country, so I don’t mind spending the summer up here.

The game is not over, I will never give up until my paradise is found. I have been implementing a new attack plan, that I will be sharing soon.

First I am headed to cornfield 1B (relative in Illinois), instead of field 1A in Ohio. I need to buy some more time before another temporary living arrangement can be made with my parents. My relationship with them is not the best bc I do not have a near worthless liberal arts degree like my sister. I want to pay rent for what I foresee to be a short-term (2-4 month) stay.

I have never gone this way before, so I’m really looking forward to driving through some new territory. Upon arrival I will be hitting the ground running with a ton of volume on Ignition.

Drive went fine. I was following a semi in the sticks of Georgia, and got flashed by a 6 yo boy standing in front of an abandoned farm house. If you take 65 into Tennessee you will see dead armadillos every 1/2 mile for awhile. I enjoyed driving through Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky. Also saw an Amish tilling a field with a horse team, never seen that before.

Ignition Poker Plan

My bankroll & liferoll were pretty much decimated in Florida. After buying all the gas to get back, I am left with just a few hundred in my bank account for expenses. I will be building from the ground up, I made a deposit of $22 (the remaining balance in my bitcoin account). Initially I will be extremely aggressive with my bankroll, equally playing $1 and $5 STTs along with $5 DONs. Not until I near the $200 mark will I begin proper bankroll management.

I could easily get a couple of $8/hr minimum-wage or $12/hr warehouse PT jobs. I believe though that by about the time I began receiving my first paychecks, my bankroll will be big enough to allow me to play the games where I have a similar take-home hourly.

Cliff Notes

Pg 1 Drive to Jacksonville, FL to live in my car and play poker.
Pg 2 Some good advice given but mostly other 2+2 member’s telling me how stupid I am.
Pg 3 Hobo it up in parking lots stealing wifi so I can play online.
Pg 4 Go back home to get more money so I can play 1/2 Live.
Pg 5 Come back to JAX, split time b/w motel and car, play poker at bestbet Orange Park.
Pg 6 Get crushed short-stacking, and have to go back home again.

TURTLES

On my most recent journey two turtles came to me in an omen (or perhaps to you, just a stupid story).

In Tennessee while taking the scenic route, I spotted a dark, slow-moving object further up the road. As I get closer I realize it is a very large turtle. He is trying to cross the road, and is nearing the middle. I am sensitive towards animals and move over to the oncoming lane to avoid hitting him. There is a long line of cars following me, and the a**hole directly behind me obliviously speeds up to try and take my spot. Now a car is coming at me from the opposite direction, and I have to smash the acceleration to get back in front of the imbecile in my lane.

Upon settling back into the drive I started to ponder upon that turtle. I thought to myself, he is moving so slowly there is no way he is going to make it to the other side without getting crushed. As I silently mourned for the turtle, a realization hit me like a ton of bricks, I AM THE TURTLE!!

What I have been doing was never going to work. Maybe in this world the deck is stacked so heavily against me that I just can’t make it on my own terms.

Later in the day, I am driving in Illinois and there are storm-clouds on the horizon. Much to my surprise, I’ll be damned if there isn’t another turtle upon the road. It might as well have been the same exact turtle; same breed, color, size and all. This time though the fella was in the clear, he was mere centimeters from the yellow line of safety.

I felt much better thinking that maybe if he made it successfully across, the first turtle did too and eventually me as well. I was not on the right path but maybe this means I am back on it, or it was just two turtles crossing the road.

I found your thoughts(story) about the turtles very interesting. Thanks for sharing that.

Good job on the sng profits. Keep up the good work, and best of luck on your journey.

It has been a bit, as I left behind the charger to the chrome book I use to access 2+2.

I have a month's worth of results to post, and I need to disclose my plans for this summer. The thread is going to drag until the fall, when hopefully things are going to get real interesting.

I would not go back and change a single thing I have done so far in this thread or my life up to this point. I savor my few victories, and learn from my many mistakes. I have not the slightest idea what my final destination may be, nor how far or long it will take. It is not the end that matters, for my own destiny I do not control, but the journey and the future decisions I can make along the way.

The majority of us (including myself most of the time) think we are climbing the steps of life to get to whatever figurative top our vanity allows us to claim. At best, we perhaps are rummaging through garbage in a dumpster out back. I am thankful for everyday allotted to me, and for whatever crumbs of knowledge I am afforded to find.

Profitability Diagnosis

Game: $5.25 Hyper Turbo (500 chips)

Volume: 502

ROI: 8.88%

Profit: $234

ITM: 38.05%

1st: 50.26%

Long-Term ROI: 13.3% - 4.5% (95% likelihood)

Games/hr: 18.04 (avg. game lasts ~12 minutes, play x4 at a time)

Hourly: $8.41
Real-World Hourly: $10.09

I am very pleased with these results. FedEx pays $11/hr and McD’s $8/hr, so it appears I am spared from that misery. Would like to see a higher rate of first-place finishes but the volume is still too low to draw definitive conclusions.

Wow, Ignition really sucks right now. If I was still in limbo on what to do next, it is a no-brainer decision now.

I experience minor glitches and disconnections but nothing I can’t tolerate, especially when I encounter so many other players with far worse disconnections=free money. The big problem I have right now is that they have removed my DONs for more than a week now; supposedly they are “fixing” them.

I am currently stuck exclusively grinding the Hypers. I’m still profitable but without the steady DON gravy-train, my variance has shot through the roof. My only solid game left is the $5 Hyper. To fill my slate during non-peak hours, I am forced to sometimes play above my bankroll ($26 H), adding on more risk. Scanning the Ignition thread for updates is getting quite tedious, “blah blah blah…….this site sucks”.

Ignition is so inept lol. At least I have a net gain due to their incompetence. The $80 winnings should have been $40 from a $21 double-up.

This is the guide I use for my SNG bankroll management. I just primarily use the buy-in requirements for each game, although her withdrawal method is a good idea as well.

https://www.pocketfives.com/f7/sng-m...-guide-378221/

Here is a chart I reference as to the validity of my winning percentages in relation to my volume. It is for HU SNG, so it is probably more accurate in regards to douple-up-or-nothing's than it is for regular formats.
