Some of the stuff that's been posted is contructive but, as per usual, the vast majority of it's just a load of self righteous bollocks. OP, all threads of this nature begin with the same old torrent of negativity. A common trait shared by the successful few is their ability to block this out. It seems like you got that part down but be sure to take everything that's said on board even if it's not something you agree with. This is something I myself struggle with so don't think I'm difging you out. I'd say like 19/20 of these sorts of thread fail, so people will always assume you're one of the majority and only you know whether you're that 1 guy or not.

Best of luck either way

WAHHHHHH

I am willing to risk my life living in my car hoping to grind out a few dollars a day.

BUT dang it all this negativity is breaking my heart. Please be nice to me fellas and tell me how much you admire me. PLEASE tell me what a great idea this is.

But seriously good luck my man

Everyone, please understand that I am not you. From your perspective I am a crazy fool, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are a lot of opinions being thrown around on this thread like they are facts. Believe it or not, at the end of the day my opinion is the only one that matters in this thread bc I am the one living it. Some valid points have been made, thank you for those. However, many things have been said that are completely out of context. Here are some facts:

I am not over-stressed in the least bit. Barely anyone seems to grasp the fact that this lifestyle while it seems stupid to you, it is normal for me. I was a long haul truck driver for 11 months. Before that I drove a cab for 5 months, sometimes working up to 14 hr shifts without leaving the car. I eat, sleep, read, watch youtube, play poker, sometimes even piss without ever leaving the vehicle for hours on end. Unfortunately, no sex going on in here right now. If I weren’t so broke I would go to parks because I love animals and nature.

I never said I was going to grind online micro stakes cash the entire time. I wrote one entry where I said I wanted to try out a new site for a few days. Well guess what, I’m done playing there bc I don’t trust them and I ran bad enough to say **** it. I am back online with my old reliable site Bovada, now Ignition. I never should have stopped playing, but I’m not going to get into that now. I can play every form of NL Holdem, and I specialize in super-turbo SNG’s. Please don’t tell me I can’t make money online. I made $6,000 playing from July through October of 2016.

I came to Jax, FL bc of the weather this time of year, and the Best Bet Poker rooms. I was supposed to have a little roll of $600-$800 to take a shot at min-buying in for $40. Well, I screwed that up and only have $200. I cannot risk losing that playing live, as I am very familiar with variance. So just give me some slack, and when I have closer to $400 I’m going to pay my first visit to the Orange Park room.

I think what you're doing definitely isn't the most +EV way to go about living off of your poker winnings in your current situation, but I do think it's possible you can make it work despite the risks.

Good luck OP. I hope you're parking in the suburbs at night.

Well said mate. I've wrote out similar things before on other threads of this nature. People are so self righteous and can't seem to grasp that some people want different things from life/have different ideoligies to them. It's pretty clear to me you're not delusional by what you just wrote so let people say what they want and just use the negativity for motivation.

I must've missed the part where he asked a load of strangers on the internet to start giving him life advice. How big does your ego have to be to think you're qualified to advise someone you don't even know on their life choices. Unless, as OP said, it's something you've had direct experience with yourself. "Don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes".

I think my ego is probably about the same size of yours cuz you doing the same thing

And for the record I traveled the us in my early 20's and did just that , lived in my car and hustled with a minimum of money. It lasted several months till it got old. I dont regret it though it was scary at times and I am glad that those 3am taps were ONLY police.

Its just that when you talk about doing something so "silly" on 2+2, you ask for judgement by default, that is the nature of this forum. I just thought it was funny that op was crying about it and his feelings seemed so hurt cuz people werent all supportive. Thats all. I say spend more time on just doing it and stop worrying what random 2+2 folks are spouting.

Now this is a good post. I would hardly say my feelings were hurt. I don't care if people are supportive, but I'm not going to let strangers verbally try to drag me down without defending myself. I think your comments about hoping someone is not going to break into my car and kill me while I sleep was not necessary. That is extremely unlikely to happen, and if it does I am prepared to defend myself.

Just police huh, I also got several hookers. Ugly ones got the middle finger.

Never said anything remotely like this

One thing that also happened alot was dudes wanting to hookup, especially at rest areas. If I were gay i could have gotten boat loads of BJ's during this adventure.

I wish op luck with his goals. But playing poker for fun will probably get old after a while. Especially if he is losing money or barley making any online. The op does have goals to play live poker, and if he wins he will have much more financial freedom/ not being penniless.

I wish I had the balls to do what you're doing. I have too much anxiety/social anxiety to sleep in my car and shower at a gym.

Subbed. GL!

If I remember correctly Orange Park is a racing greyhound racetrack and like the sister track to Jacksonville Greyhound park and if I remember correctly they used to split the yearly racing calendar. My knowledge about this if from years back as my dad and I loved going to the greyhound racetrack years ago so a lot may have changed, but my guess is whether or not they still have greyhound racing there these days they probably offer live poker as other greyhound racetrack do such as Derby Lane in St Petersburg.

I thought he meant he didn't drive to parks/ grass/ free place because he couldn't afford gas. I mean how can you with $200 and a gym membership.

Nobody in here is bashing the Op. There's just opinions. Most of the advice is "start being profitable so you have Freedom". Eat healthier too.

**** living in America with all the dodgy **** you guys are talking about lol. I could sleep in my car for a year in England and never have my window tapped on. I'd be more likely to start with $20 and invest in a gun going by what I'm reading ;'D

I have not written any entries on my daily activities for several days. There have been so many interesting comments that I enjoy responding to more right now. I have no rigid format that I am subjecting myself to, just trying to have fun on here in a daily allotted amount of time.

Not advised if your background is mainly live. Your hourly will certainly be lower for a time until you adjust to the different play style. If you do this move somewhere that also has decent (legal - gotta be careful over there in places) live games to subsidise your lower hourly online.

For those of you guys suggesting I convert my savings into a live BR, as of last night that is completely off the table while I am down here in the land of sun. I spoke to my dad last night and tried to hint around at him loaning me cash and taking some metal as the collateral. I haven’t mentioned yet that my stash is locked away in his gun safe. If you thought I had it on me, even I’m not that stupid. One unlucky day in hell could result in 99% of my net worth (car with gold/silver inside) stolen in one swipe. So my dad made it clear that if I want my money I have to drag my butt back up there to get it. I can tell you right now that as stubborn a S.O.B as I am, that is not happening in the near future. He would kill for me to get a 9-5 back home and try to be normal. I totally get that from his P.O.V. A lot of you guys remind me of my old man minus the fact that you don’t care a whole lot about my well-being. For most I’m just here for your entertainment, and that is completely okay.

Well I will take what you said with a grain of salt. People on here from the looks of it are not telling you what to do, they are trying to figure out how you are going to profit.

Your overhead/ bills are low, that is great, but if you start making real money with all the current free time you will actually have the freedom to be free.

Live poker you make at the minimum $1 on a comps card per hour plus get free hotel rooms, free play, bonus drawings etc. It's not a bad gig. Why not try to make $50k this year? You have your guard up with the advice posted, when you could be listening to seasoned grinders about reality. That $5k in gold you have could be eventually insignificant compared to your winnings. You could get a RV etc. And protect your current freedom without putting your financial working roll at risk. You could leverage your money for a higher chance of success. Instead of dwindling. But you can make it online, but live is a better option, easier, less good pros.

You sure did imply it. “I (referring to me) am willing to risk my life living in my car”, and “when that tap on your vehicle at 3am is NOT the police”.

That must have been in a different time, or you just must be that much prettier than me. I never saw anything like that going on at all.

Yes it seems the majority of posters are most concerned with my profitability, however that is not what this story is about. I am not trying to get rich or make x amount of money. I measure the quality of my life by how peaceful I feel inside. Yeah I need enough money to do the things I want to do, but it doesn’t take a whole lot to make me happy. For now all I need is a poverty-level daily wage for food, gas and quite minor fixed expenses. In time things will come together, how quickly or slowly no man knows. When my adventures are complete, just give me a small farm, on a plot of land in the countryside, with a good woman and I’ll ride off into the sunset.

That would be nice but have you ever been in a hurricane? I'm not really a fan of water bc I'm not a fish. I think living out in the middle of nowhere accomplishes the same things without being at the extreme mercy of nature. I have seen on a video these super tall islands off the coast of Asia, and I could get down with that.
