I'm sticking this here, but maybe I should have them tattooed on me!

1. THINK before click(ing)!

2. No all-in preflop without premiums in Early & Middle stages -and not short stacked.

3. Once in the top 3 of the chip lead, don't rush, let them come at you brah!!!

This €155 should slow my downswing (actually I've been playing looser than I should).

*** SIDE QUEST ***

What?
Win enough money to bring your son & wife to a live European poker tournament event in April.

How?
Show a net profit of €1.500 in online tournaments.

When?
Starting on 17th of January, until 17th of April 2017.

Why?
If I can do this, and somehow also win some $$$ at the live tournament, I can have more of my wife's blessing for my poker endeavour, which helps my mental game too

Confirmed!
I can make it to the final table in almost half of the tournaments I play, as long as I concentrate and don't dump my stack with low pairs for "Twitch"y play.

Last week I did this while playing without a HUD! Which was why I had to concentrate more and did better than usual.

I found out, no, I accepted that Twitching my live games is massively -EV for me.

Mainly for the following reasons:
1. Distractions from the chat which takes my focus off the tables

2. Going all-in just for the thrill of it in situations much less than optimal

3. Not folding when knowing a fold is right, but want to show the opponent's cards to the viewers.

4. Getting tired while chatting and playing at the same time, which also negatively effects my play.

But I also do love Twitching for fun, so I've put up a new rule for myself:

1 Final Table = 1 Twitch allowance

So, when I reach a final table, I'm allowed to broadcast one tournament later on.

How does it sound?

Well, in just a few hours I reached my final table goal!

I busted out in 8th place, although I was doing pretty good, but I ran into pocket kings while trying to squeeze with my pocket nines.

Anyway, the first promised Twitch broadcast is due.

Also, the tournament was not a turbo one. I normally play turbos which have 6min blind structures, while this one was 12 minutes. It took much longer to reach the final table (~3 hours vs ~5 hours), however it felt much easier to play -skillwise not timewise- than the turbos.

I was checking my stats in my DB. It doesn't include all hands as I have other computers that I use to play, still it gives me an idea why I am losing this month:

%Stats of 25k hands from previous months:
VPIP: 34,8 / PFR: 24,6 / AF: 2,9
3bet: 9,7 / WTSD: 41,9 / W$SD: 45,5

%Stats of 5k hands from this month:
VPIP: 37,6 / PFR: 27 / AF: 2,5
3bet:11,6 / WTSD: 44,6 / W$SD: 44,8

I know I am already getting involved in too many hands, still when I increase it just a few more points I became a losing player.
Also the difference between my VPIP and PFR is high.
Glad to know I still have my wits for positional awareness, but overall it is still too high.

Went to showdown is also quite high and when it combines with my wide preflop opening range it is making me bleed. But I don't think that this is not fixable.

3bet seems decent. Gotta check other stats like cbet / fold to cbet etc, but this is also good enough.

Diagnosis: Loose Aggressive Player shifting to Loose Passive Fish (or vice versa)

Remedy:
1. Narrow down your opening range.
2. Don't call too light on the river.

Do you concur? Has anyone got any other suggestions?

Lost with my pocket AKs on the final table.
But I'm a better player than I was the previous day.
I'm so grateful, I'm so lovin' this game!

Can't seem to be getting out of this downswing.
Entered the final table in first place with a very good chip lead.
Then hit into KK.
Then hit my QQ into AA.
Then lost to an Ace high when the board paired.
Ended up in the #7 spot.

Still, my game is improving, and I'll be ready when I rise on the water again!

What do you do when you are idling at a bank queue, or waiting for your plane to board?

I used to play stupid games on my phone to pass time (like Candy Crush, yuck!).

Now I'm reading PDFs of some easy reading poker books. That's how I finished reading Negreanu's book. Ofcourse I take notes if I find something worth more focused interest to read later on.

Now I'm loading the "Elements of Poker" to my phone, to do some reading on the go.

If you have a busy schedule outside of poker, then use every available free minute to further improve your knowledge on poker, that's what I'm trying to do.

Ofcourse this may lead to burnout, but since I love this game so much, and I make sure the topics I'm reading on are diverse, it doesn't really make me tired.

Go study!

Sometimes, you gotta man up and step down.

My bankroll still allows me to play the higher limits but I think it is time to get back to base and regroup.

I'm either having a bad swing or something is wrong with my play (or probably both).
Whatever the reason, I'm going to play in smaller buy-in tournaments from now on, until I feel the swing is over and/or I've plugged some major leak of mine.

The tournaments I'm allowed to play in are:
1. €5,50 or less with rebuy/add-on.
2. €11 freezout
3. €10 with rebuy/add-on --> Once a week if I'm profiting that week.

Discipline baby! It's not the military but this is indeed a war.
