I will be playing mainly Hyper and Turbo Husng in the $1.50 - $3.50 range and will hopefully update daily with graphs and some hands.
The reason I'm creating this thread is mainly to gain motivation, because I'm currently not confident in my game which maybe is caused by my current graph.

Graph of 815 hyper games and 14 turbo games with avg. buyin of $2:

I'm currently about 62 buyins below EV but what's bothering me more is that my EV line is only at about 2% ROI, which is in my opinion kind of low at my buyin level.

My learning ressources are Sentins Hyper Turbo Pack and old-ish Husng.com videos about Turbo games.

Starting my session now!

Pretty happy with my results so far:

Only played $3.50 Turbo Headsup, because I'm feeling more confident playing these than hypers.

What do you guys think of this hand:

PokerStars - $3.32+$0.18|10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 73.5 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 6)
Hero (BB): 76.5 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A T

SB raises to 2 BB, Hero raises to 6 BB, SB calls 4 BB

Flop: (12 BB, 2 players) 9 2 3
Hero bets 5 BB, SB calls 5 BB

Turn: (22 BB, 2 players) 6
Hero bets 9.75 BB, SB calls 9.75 BB

River: (41.5 BB, 2 players) T
Hero bets 19.5 BB, SB raises to 52.75 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 33.25 BB

I think I should have given up on the turn because of the board texture.

Pretty happy with my play even tho the volume was really bad. Expecting at least double the volume in my next session.

Struggling at the moment. Feeling that the rake at $3.50 Hyper/Turbo is really hurting me. Still not decided what structure I will be focused on. $7 games have way lower rake and I would have the roll to play the turbos with about 65 buyins, but I'm not feeling confident in my game, so 7's won't happen for now.

Played a lot of $1.50 hyper turbo recently. Feeling that I improved my game, but it's hard to put in great volume seeing that im running under EV all the time.

I do understand the variance aspect of those games and don't want to whine. It's just not easy to move up the limits and get hit by variance every time.

Will continue playing $1.50 for now. Would love to be backed for the $3.50 hyper turbo, but that probably sounds ridiculous :P.

$1.50 graph
ROI:-3,75%
Adjusted ROI: 4,85%

I'm happy tho, that my EV line is pretty good for the last 100 games, but it's definitely possible to achieve a higher EV ROI than 4,85%

Will try to update this thread more often from now on

My stop at the $3.50 limit didnt last very long. Played 23 games and 6 buyins under EV. Back at the $1.50 again.

$1.50 is now at 1,1k games with 4,2% ROI. Pretty happy about that. Started to play a little bit of $3.50, but had to drop down again because I ran 8 buyins below EV in 30 games and in addition to that a lot of coolers. Back to the $1.50 grind.

$1.50 Graph:

$1.50 + $3.50 Graph:

This swing is obviously pretty standard, but my roll is starting to go down and I really don't want to play the $1.50 because of the high rake, but I don't see another option here.

Good luc, stay focused and keep the good mindset you already have(which comes across in ^ post).

Sucks about having to drop down - is there much difference in these games? I might start dabbling in the 7s or 3s soon

Thanks! Fortunately I have very little problems with tilt. Even tho my EV ROI at the $3.50 compared to the $1.50 is much lower, the playerbase is in my opinion virtually the same. If you have the roll, I would recommend to you to start at least at the $3.50. I can't imagine that $7 would be much harder to beat tho.

Are you not moving over to spin & goes?

I hear alot of hyper traffic is reducing as the hyper hu fish are moving over and so are the grinders?

If your starting out at the 3s, doesn't it make sense to start with them instead now? even tho they seem like bingo and a rake trap.

I would only have like 125 buyins for the $3 and that's definitely not enough imo. The playerbase at $3.50 didn't really change. There are only fish and bad regs.

Small update: Played really well imo but ran very bad again. Need to drop down in stakes again. I am not frustrated, but it does get me thinking. Running 125 Buyins below EV now. I don't have a problem with swings. It's just that I can't play higher limits than $1.50 and it really slows my progress. The best thing that could happen would be being staked, but that's probably not gonna happen with ~1,6k games sample size.

Graph last 3 days:

All games:

And for some eye candy, chip graph:

EDIT: I ran my data through a variance calculator. The 99.7% confidence interval is $-186 - $310. I am at $-194. That's pretty frustrating.

Good news! The last days playing $3.50 went very well $EV wise.

Didn't make much money, but also didn't lose much. I'm fine with that in my current situation.

Thanks, good luck too! I just hope that I don't need to move down again because of variance. PM me your skype nick if you want to discuss some strategy or hands

Last 100 games at $3.50 went really bad. I don't really know what I did wrong, didn't change my game at all. I have a huge problem which is that I don't really know how to improve my game. I also don't really get how people say that sentins hyperturbo pack is enough to beat at least $15 levels. The population tendencies discussed in the pack are the complete opposite of what the players at these limits have in my experience. Everyone is extremely aggressive, opening a huge range preflop, balanced 3betting and definitely not playing passive.

I really need to think about my future in these games. Studying a lot but not effectively I think. At least I'm not seeing any improvements in my game.

Appreciate any input!

Just played the Big $2.20 MTT and got 11th place of 3000 entrants. Lost with QQ vs KK for the massive chiplead. First place would have been $1k. I can't believe this :/

SB was a fish, that's why I happily called with QQ there. What a time to wake up with KK on the BTN there.
