Hello everyone. My name is Tom and I am currently from Nashville TN. I have played poker on and off since I was 20. I've for the most part been a recreational player, but made a run at Vegas with 2500 dollars that I had saved while working at a plastic factory for a month in a small town in Northern Nevada called Winnemucca two years ago. I lasted a month in Vegas eventually going busto, and being homeless for four days. I got bailed out by my family, and moved to Nashville TN. I feel I am very lucky as living in Vegas for a month made me realize how cruel of a town it can be when you are down on your luck, and have hit rock bottom. I've witnessed a guy who was clearly withdrawing from Heroine, and have dealt with Meth heads while in Vegas. I didn't touch either of the stuff as I knew once I went busto I had to get out. I do plan on going back to Vegas for maybe a WSOP down the road or a week's vacation, but never have the desire to live there full time after my experience.

Fast forward to the present. I currently have my own one bed room apartment, and a full time job. I am currently happy with how things are going. I have started to play poker again on Bovada, but my bankroll management and discipline still lack. During the last two months I have twice turned 100 dollars into 850 and 200 dollars into 1500. I went busto both times, because I lost the money on Bovada's Blackjack. Ironically I did not make a majority of that money on Poker, but rather Blackjack. It took me 2 weeks to run the 200 dollars up to 1500, and one week to run the 100 into 850 using a black jack betting strategy I had developed. I binked a 5.50 1k GTD tournament for 475.34. This was two days ago. During this time I had free rolled every micro poker tourney I played in using my Black jack strategy However, I went busto both times, because I could not control the itch to keep playing. I was trying to get rich over night, and the greed and lack of discipline hurt me severely.

Today I finally said enough is enough. I called Bovada, and banned myself from the Casino. I am currently playing in 3 Mad Monday tournaments on Bovada. The 5.50 Mad Monday 6k GTD, the 2.20 Mad Monday 1k GTD, and the 33 dollar 5k GTD Heads up tournament. With all these buy ins I am left with 50 dollars in my Bovada account. I will be streaming these 3 tournaments on twitch.tv tonight in the hopes of getting community support. Also, there is proof that I binked a 5.50 1K GTD on my channel as well. It was an exciting final table, and I urge anyone to watch. I joined these three tournaments as a last hurrah, and the hopes that I may run deep in at least one of them to help give me a head start on my challenge.

Assuming, I do not cash in any of these three tournaments I will be left with 50 dollars in my Bovada account. I hope to run this up to 10k by the end of 2016. This challenge may end in five days if I manage to bust the 10 buy ins that I am left with. (again assuming I do not cash in any of these 3 mad Monday tournaments that I am playing in tonight) I will attempt to two table FR 5 NL, and if I lose both buy ins I will call it quits for the night. My goal for this first phase of my challenge is to play these two buy ins for four hour sessions each night. I will start the cash games tomorrow. If I lose both buy ins I will quit for the rest of the night, and come back the next day. That is why this challenge could potentially end in 5 days if I go on a 10 BI downswing(I don't expect to as I feel I can definitely beat 5 NL LoL)

Good luck bud. I've been re watching the **** outta training vids I have and going to get grinding on bovada in a week or two. I got 400 $ on there and $150 on ACR. . All the PGAC threads I've read lately have inspired me ro stop just letting that monwy sit on sites and do aomething with it. Just havnt had motivation. Good luck bud and ill be following. Ok, just got home from work. Will be playing .25/.50 stud with a .05 cent ante, and the 2.20 1k gtd tonight. Stud is fixed limit obv, and the lowest form of stud I could find on Bovada.

Bought in at the stud table for 6.21$ currently up to 11.61. Been playing for only 45 mins. Stud is really soft on this site. I'm in the 2.20 still, but with only 2k chips.

EDIT: Got 2.4k at first break of 1k gtd, and had to fold 3 of a kind to someone who obviously made a flush on 6th street. I still have 8.21 on my stud table.

Ended up busting the buy-in at stud. A lot of coolers on the river. Money goes surprisingly fast in that game. I just wanted to change games. Im still in the 2.20 however with 8.8k in chips currently 69 out of 236. Got lucky to stay in though Kings vs aces AIPF. I binked a king on the flop though. Easy game? lol

To be honest work has got me so pooped. I feel this is a good thing though, because since I know I am banned from the Casino on Bovada I have no interest in chasing my losses. So lets give it up for the mental game a bit!

So, far so good today. I've played 3 3.15 heads up sit n goes winning 2/3 of them. Also up a buy in at 5 NL. I played the 2.20 1k, and busted 9-9 vs K-K AIPF. I made a bad read so busted really early in that. However, the sit n goes, and so far my cash game have made up for it. I've been playing for a couple of hours. I will try and play one or two more heads up sit n goes before the end of the session. I plan on playing for another 3 hours. Let me know if anyone is interested in me streaming the rest of my session.

Lost 4th heads up match to end up even on heads up for the night with 2/4 won. I finished with double my Buy in at 5 NL. So with the roll is at 53.20 with everything. Ill take it.

Lost 5th heads up match, and tilted. I mis-read an opponent who called with middle pair and got there on the river earlier in the match to come back in the match. Then got it in J-J vs K-Q and he binked a queen on the flop to win the heads up sit n go. Proceeded to play with the last 50 dollars on a game I like to call Pair or Ace on zone poker. It is a game I just made up, where you go all in pre-flop with a pair or ace high. I ended up getting it in A-4s vs 8-8, and binked an ace on the river. LoL. I shouldn't be laughing, but I honestly tilted after losing the 5th heads up match. I know this is bad, but this thread will serve as a reminder what happens when tilt enters the game. I played this on 50 NL zoom. Thank you Boveezy for keeping me in I guess...=/

Ended up playing micro stud, and made 2 dollars. Stud is a fun game for me. I need to get better at folding two pair on the river though.

So, just two tabled 5 NL for a couple of hours. I'm up 3.04 after 215 hands. I am obviously not bragging about my volume as I know it is low as ****. I am prepping myself to sit for longer sessions as I get bored really easily playing this game. I can understand how some can see this post as a troll, but I feel these are good steps in working on my mental game as well as being happy with sitting and grinding it out. The funny thing is I can sit at a table for longer live, because the stakes are usually higher, and the atmosphere of the casino allows me to focus on nothing but poker. Also, since I have banned myself from the Bovada Casino. These wins feel more me, and I feel like I earned it by truly grinding. I have a couple of hands that I'd like to share as I feel they are interesting, but I don't know how to convert them from Hand history. If I figure it out I will post two interesting hands from this session.
