nice thread, well done on the results and keep up the good fitness work!

question: im looking to back a friend for 8$, 15$, 35$ 180man mtts, what br would you say is comfortable for a small winner at these games?

also if you were to add the big gtd mtt turbos (1091r1a 45k gtd etc) hypers (82$ 6max 12.5k gtd etc) what br would you say is comfortable for that same player (20% roi in mtt)? *player doesnt play more than 12-15tbls

hope that makes sense, thanks for the help!

Thats what i do. Transfers i just look at donkbluff when i wake up and when i go to bed and send transfers as needed (they update their bankroll at end of each session). We also have a skype chat going with all horses so if they have questions, they can ask me there or hit me up on AIM/email/personal skype convo. Its a ton of work, and we will most likely be looking to add some employees here soon. just got back from holidays with the family and getting situated in canada again.
.
Very cool thread plus life mate,

If you don't mind me asking how would you go about finding the "staff" you mentioned you might be getting.

Cheers

Bankrolls always need to be pretty big for stuff like that. Its hard to answer if i dont know the persons reg grind schedule/if he will drop down/how many tables he plays/how hard he works on his game.

biggest thing in staking is never going broke cause all your MU just goes up in flames if you do. so, think of what bankroll you should have, then double it a few times and thats what you really should have.

Not sure.

We just hired a few coaches that i am very excited about. hopefully this helps a few guys turn the corner and get out of MU.

All the best for the staking and also for your personal goals, hope it all goes well for you.

I kinda touched on it in my last post.

As gawa9 said, its kinda hard to know what exact bankroll you need for staking.

If i had 50k to invest, i wouldnt even stake people for MTTs prolly (maybe like 55s and under...maybe). If it was MTTs, it would need to be people who grinded 180s as well (and grinded them hard). MTTs can just be so damn swingy. I know when me and page first started staking, i was scared to add mtts in because of the swings i saw my friends going on.

It takes a long long time to get a good stable together.

I wouldnt dream of staking high stakes guys without mid 6 figures at your disposal. the #1 rule of staking---dont go busto.

Very interesting to read the opinions of an experienced backer

In terms of development it doesnt seem like that is focused on by you but more left to them? more value in hunting talent to grind straight away than developing your small stakes MTT guys into midstakes killers?

We actually just hired 2 coaches for the stable so gonna be trying to groom more guys to win more/move up.

We do have a forum and skype chat that seem to help horses a decent amount.

Eating and working out still going well, just dont really feel like posting daily updates on that front. Obv i will post weekly updates in terms of that free roll i offered. Since i started, here are my total stats:

Time: 13 hours
Calories: 6883
Steps: 77457

Feel like i am starting to see a little difference in the mirror as well. Havent weighed myself in around a month er so. might just not weigh myself for a while and just keep plugging away at it.

Good read and nice graphs.
Must be nice to have so many good horses . MTT variance can be a bitch, but i see you have some beasts backed.
How much % of the horses play SNGs/MTT-s compared to cash? And which game do you prefer to back usually , just out of curiosity. I mean having a stable cash crusher might be more +EV than MTT grinder. But of course that is just a short term thinking and that brings out another question, how long those deals usually last.

It took a while to get to this point. Elio and I are very happy with our stable of horses, but it can always be improved on. We are hoping that we can keep impoving and feel there are many things we can do to get better. Dont want to get into the specifics for obvious reasons, but hopefully it all works out.

Variance really is ridic. We are obv running pretty damn hot atm. We ran bad in some huge spots before, but that seems to be evening itself off a bit (ha ha).

We have 55 horses atm, and 1 person plays only cash. We have 1 mtt guy who plays some cash on the side, but thats it.

I prefer to back sngs and mtts because that is what i am more familiar with. It also helps to have elio around since he has played every single limit in sngs and mtts. I know of a few guys who have done really well in cash staking and thats something me and elio will look at down the road at some point.

Our deals are usually for an indefinite amount of time. As long as the horse isnt in MU, he can leave and do his own thing. This might change since we are adding coaches to the stable, but we are in the beginning stages of working this all out.

I guess some of your horses are winner and can maintain his/her own bankroll but for some reasons (to reduce risk, discipline BRM, etc) they prefer to stay with you for relatively long time.

Am I right? How many (in %) horses like that?

Just a small update for the free roll people:

So far this week, i have walked 11.5ish miles and have had exactly 0 drinks. right on schedule.

Small downswing backing atm, but gearing up for a big sunday.

Nice thread, thanks. Do you have any tips for a staking newbie like me with a rather small staking roll? Most offers I see are for particular playdays /sessions only and I somewhat fear the variance.

buying action is a pretty tough thing to do. I am not that well versed in it, so not sure i wanna try and give any advice. i usually just buy action from friends for sweat purposes.

Bout to go on walk to finish this free roll up.

Don't really frequent this forum and just found this thread. I hang out with Paul quite a bit here in Cabo so I hear about the pros and cons of the stable but it was still cool to see the pretty graphs.

Despite not playing much (if any) poker, Paul is one of the harder workers down here so I'm happy he's done well.
