My gf was nothing but kind to you the entire stay, she never said one bad word about you, she made you tacos your first day, and she was the one that set your whole bedding and **** up in the guest room. I cant believe you have any reason at all to call her crazy or bring her into this, that like the majority of your posts is just a baseless, unfounded lie. I post about her in here unwisely because I love talking about her, how dare you hijack that and post whatever bull**** you want about another human who has nothing to do with this AND was super nice to you???

Lol wtf she chooses to work. She doesnt even have to, I told her straight up when we left AZ. but she WANTS to help out with rent, food, and she doesnt want us to be in a position where theres that money power dynamic. You accusing me of forcing her to work actually makes me sad. I have never demonstrated that to her or to you. Sorry that I have the best girl in the world and you dont.

This is truly ****ed up to post about my family.

I have no idea where youre getting this from. I bought the car brand new in cash in 2015, it runs perfectly.

Its called having respect for the person you love and their beliefs

I just wanted to kind of set the record straight with this post. Theres way too much **** in here about me personally, and my family - homer, I hope you will respect the people who dont have anything to do with this and stop posting about them. I dont want to sound cliche but if you posted about me to slander me it wouldnt give me the yucky feeling in my stomach compared to you posting about people close to me.

Im sorry that all this happened. I know it was a tough situation when you had to leave. After a while, it became clear you did not think my coaching was very good and you had made the decision to play your way. i did my best to help you, but I couldnt continue to cover your rent. Im sorry

I do wish you the best and I considered us friends even after you left. It was only a few days ago in the chat thread that I realized you were upset. However I didnt think it warranted a response until now.

I really wish you had contacted me privately to air out your grievances

LOL at not listening to Duke's coaching. Just LOeffingL. Like, I have no clue how good or bad Duke is at relaying information and teaching, but the info he'd be giving would be top notch.

But if you're struggling at 1/2 and won't listen to your backer who crushed 1/2 and now crushes 2/5 as hard as anyone, just LOL.

I guess you missed where Duke said he had Skip on ignore.

I don't think I can trust a man who makes this kind of mistake.

I admire your maturity Duke. Homer has insulted you, your ability to perform at your chosen profession, your understanding of due diligence, your hygiene, your apartment, your tipping, your win rate, your phone, your car, your GF and made some weird comments about your brother (which actually seemed to be a compliment to me but WDIK?)

But he also insulted your dog's hygiene and that crosses a line that must be addressed. Homer is talking about a boxing match with you in Chat and I think it is incumbent on you to end this once and for all. It would appear that Squid will be willing to appear as your second.

make this happen young man and stand up for your honour

Clearly homer needs help and bullying him is certainly not going to fix anything, he was clearly out of line but maybe the best course of action if someone doesn't want to help him out with his ****ed up life would be to just ignore him

Yeah pretty much this.

I will say of course that not everyone can be a great and effective coach at their fields of expertise, but regardless, Duke is one of my favorite poker peers and good friends who I have bounced countless hands off of over the last few years. Whether or not he can convey that information easily to the average person really isn't for me to say. I've never had any issues gleaning (valuable) information from his line checks and overall poker advice that is for sure. Always appreciate getting his thoughts on a spot I share.

Pretty sure anyone who looks for reasons to have the fault lie elsewhere in their lives is doomed for failure anyway; with or without an expert coach, poker or otherwise.

As for the rest of this situation, ugh. Sorry you had to put up with the line crossing family and gf nonsense and I hope all can just move on having lived and learned from it all.

PS: sending you a hand soon!

Whats up, guys - Its been 15 months since my last post in here but its about to get going again.

This thread used to be a major part of my life - it was a source of motivation and accountability, a semi-anonymous outlet where I could air out my true feelings about life and poker, and a path to some very valuable friendships.

Surely, there are many more deep-seated reasons as to why I went so HAM in this thread for a few years, and I'm sure I can make some educated guesses as to what those reasons were (craving attention, insecurity, prove to strangers how good at poker I am; all that ****ty stuff directly beneath the mask of fake and shallow reasons we give ourselves to justify our actions) - but for now I'm going to at least tell myself that the reason I'm starting this back up is for motivation/accountability, to regain my semi-anonymous outlet, and perhaps a friendship or two will bud from the chrysalis that this thread has been.

It would behoove me to start this refurbishment with an expedited summation of the 519 days since my last post.

When my former horse vacated my premises in March of 2017, I Final-Tabled a 6-max MTT at Hollywood Hardrock the very same night. Unfortunately, I finished in 6th place for only $2k - missing out on the $15k first prize score.

The rest of the summer was spent grinding live poker in South Florida. $50k profit that summer ran my bankroll into excellent shape.

However, shortly after this, my enjoyment for live poker began to decay exponentially. Driving to the casino, putting my name on the list, sitting down at the table, and then grinding out the hours - all of that, each step in a process that I had played out in repeat for 4 years straight felt like nothing but a chore to me.

Around March of 2018 I switched to full-time online. I had previously been playing online 15 hours per week with great results in addition to feeling more mental stimulation. Not to mention, I felt no social anxiety which has always been one of the biggest drawbacks about live poker for me.

My volume increased from 15 hours per week to 35 online and I continued to find success.

In May, my partner and I moved to Tucson, Arizona so that she could be closer to her family and qualify for in-state tuition. I didn't mind this transition; in Tucson, there are no distractions. There's nothing good to eat. Nothing fun to do. No friends within a 100 mile radius. I could spend the entirety of my mental energy on poker while she spent the entirety of hers on earning her degree.

In June, I drove up to Vegas for WSOP. I ended up winning the Goliath Low Roller for $32k which further increased my roll to the point I could play 3/6 online without sweating it. For me, this was my great and glorious victory.

Since then, I've been back in Tucson battling daily in the online cash-games at 200-600nl. Over the last 100k hands, I've made $70/hour at online mid-stakes. I estimate I get between 300-350 hands per hour playing 5-7 tables of 6-max. As I get better and more experienced and push my way into the high-stakes games, I hope my hourly will thrust itself into the triple-digits.

Earlier this week, I made a sizable withdrawal from my online bankroll. I put enough in my bank account to ensure I will not need to pull anything more for a while. I can focus purely on running up my bankroll while targeting a hike to the 5/10 and 10/20 level.

After my withdrawal, I currently have $26k in my online poker account. I'd like to see that number get into the six-figures by WSOP.

This thread will chronicle my continued journey in poker where I seek the mythical concepts of financial independence and NLHE mastery.

I will not be posting what site I play on, my screen-name, or much strategy.

My goals will be process-oriented. 6-8 hours grinding per day, 1-2 hours of high-quality study, and keeping my expenses under budget. In addition to that, I am also working to eliminate the parts of my life that aren't helping me at poker. The three big ones for me are marijuana, alcohol, and sports-betting. At best, they give me temporary pleasure. At worst, they take away valuable time that can be spent on the only two things I truly value - my poker career and my relationship with my partner. All 3 are currently a work in progress but I hope to have them under control by the end of the year.

Thanks for reading.

I'd love for you guys to join me and support me as I attempt to ascend to infinity and beyond!

Good luck everyone

you'll want to focus on Mom&Pop hole in the wall Mexican places. They may not have a lot of Yelpers and the smart play is to watch where the old locals go.
