Hey guys!

I've been on 2p2 since forever and have been a long time sng grinder. Some of you may have read my pgc from a few years ago when I hit SNE in 2013 but haven't been too active on 2p2 since that thread ended.

I switched to spins shortly after they came out on Stars and grinded them with solid success at Stars $30s and FTP $50s. I moved back to Stars shortly before the sites merged and things mostly went pretty bad after that! I was putting most of my energy into a failed effort at a career in the lowest levels of pro golf and lost a lot of my interest in poker during that time.

This happened to come right after I went absurdly viral for doing a goof ass underwear photo shoot for my wife. If you don't recall your aunt probably reposted it on her Facebook page, but I ended up being flown to LA to do an underwear commercial for American Eagle. My ass was literally on Times Square. I'm convinced I was THIS close to being on Ellen.

I didn't put enough effort into my poker game and had the results to prove it. I got so fed up with poker I just said gg/gn and went and found a job as a garbageman. 2 weeks of being a garbageman was enough and I switched to building fences. Shortly after I began fence building I got a backing offer to grind $30 spins (Aug 2016) and was pleased to be out of the labour business, if only for a moment.

My results at $30 spins were mediocre and it felt like every 2nd month Stars was doing something to make the grind even worse. With the incoming rakeback changes I switched over to MTT's/180's and that grind was a lot more enjoyable and showed much better results.

The last couple weeks I've been grinding 6m turbos on Stars and having some good fun.

https://gyazo.com/7b1bd096d2e94627d3dfbd9294bb3aa1

For the moment I am going to keep at the 6m grind and probably mix in some MTT's as well.

My goals at the moment are to stretch my abilities to grind wild hours and study when I'm tired and don't want to but I just plow through. I wanna hit the sheets at the end of every night just cooked knowing I gave my a good portion of my all. I will likely get back into coaching as well. I had some immature views on it in the past and just quit doing it altogether but looking forward to getting back into it with some low stakes keeners.

Golf has been on pause for the moment but I will be back at it at least a little bit come this winter/fall and I'm excited for that.

Thanks for reading!!

Hey man! Yeah that graph just Pokerstars and 6m turbos. Grinded a pile on WPN for a few weeks as well but wasn't digging it.

Pretty much missed all day yesterday, good grind today sniffed the 8 hour mark. I'm thinking I wanna be pumping out 50h+ weeks at the moment while being diligent that things don't stray. Bit of a balancing act with home life but it's been good.

Today + 1h yesterday:

Going to hit more games and more hours tomorrow, unfortunately beating the profit and rungood may have to wait for another time.

Are all of these post-chests? U weren't the first one from whom I see an impressive EV lately in games where b/e-regs have been pushed out

Nice profit, , as you consider the level of 6m turbo 15-30s these days? Comparing it with the 30s spins? Or do more selections of tables

Yeah my first day was July 24 so it's post-chests but also early days.

There are certainly some good regulars playing them and there are times when being careful with games is important. I think the best $30 spin regs hourlies would be better than perhaps all the hourlies of similar stake $30 turbo regs.

Wow are your ears burning? Was just talking about you the other day. Victor Ramdin ffs. I did quit them yeah. Tried some on WPN a few weeks back which was a decent grind but it's tough to get many games/hr and there are very few recs.

MTT grind is so much nicer isn't it? At least you know one day you will get rewarded for your cEV lol.

The day a spinreg with regular volume shows me a consistent graph of meeting cEV is the day I call them a liar.

Yeah MTTs for last 4-5 months, I like actually making $$$. It's nice. I've more than made up for the $0 I made the first 3 months of the year playing spins.

Were u talkin boot me? Hopefully you said nice things. Man I miss using that avatar I forgot how based it was lol.

My little guy had his 3rd birthday today and it was a blast. Petting zoo, trampoline zone, ice cream. It was fun giving him what he wanted for a day. I can really see how spoiling your child and giving them whatever they want can make for a terrible human though. Parenting, man.

I read jackstack99's PGC last night and it was a wake up call. I always let myself be bad in certain areas of life especially when I am doing well in others. It's a cliche motivational office poster quote but "How you do anything is how you do everything" stuck with me after reading his pgc. It's a lot more likely that my bad **** is going to creep into my good **** and make it worse rather than my good habits sneaking into my bad ones.

I let myself off the hook all the time and don't plow through the way anyone who smashes would. Going to make some basic guidelines for myself to stick to.

1) 50h/week grinding
2) 5h/week studying
3) yoga/calisthenics every morning
4) eat a dang vegetable with every meal

Last 2 days:

Low volume with the little guys bday weekend festivities. I've been adding some $7s to supplement low traffic times. I'm simultaneously proud and ashamed of that. 9m/18m games are probably a better option but I have played so few 18m games in my life I'll need to spend some time figuring out bubble ranges first.

Going to have to push hard to get 50h this week, going to Parksville this weekend so the kids can goof off with their cousins. 50h is an arbitrary number, I will keep it as a goal but I think it will be most important that I push through the urge to quit a session multiple times a day and just build that endurance.

Got in an hour of study this morning but it was pretty haphazard and bounced around without accomplishing much. Took some time to lay out a plan to devote study blocks to hammering out specific spots. I studied that way right briefly before I quit spins and it sure feels like the truth.

I did 55 pullups and 30m of yoga this morning. I've done next to nothing for the past couple months and my body has been punishing me for it, nice to be sore because I did something rather than sore because I did nothing. I haven't been properly below 200 lbs since I was a teenager, so while I am still a blob of garbage it will be nice to get back under in short order.

7.5h today. Got in a great 1h study session this morning with a bud and was a solid sanity check. While it was a bit of bouncing around random hands, I think that has to occur in order to see what is even going on, and then from there the process can narrow and specific problem spots can be hammered out.

Got in all my veggies, yoga, and calisthenics. 2 entire days in a row, LFG!!

Been waking up earlier so I can get everything done so I've been pretty tired for most of the last couple days. Makes for definite stretches of C game which is inappropriate. As long as I keep fueling myself properly and exercising it will take care of itself in short order, but there's no reason to not be able to gut out a B level performance even if I'm tired.

I'm pushing the habit of speaking out loud while I play just for the sake of clarity and sanity. It's way too easy for me to just click/punt/autopilot so that's a habit that's going to be mandatory for me to just do all the time and will help keep me from the C game pit.

Man. The only bad thing about it was there was a stretch where I was agreeing to every local TV/radio interview/phone call and it was taking up a lot of time, but I loved it still so it wasn't even a bad thing.

The best parts that stick out was the catered food on set of the commercial (holy ****), seeing Aisha Tyler talk about me on TV, and when I saw pics of my ass on Times Square.

Last 2 days.

22h so far this week. Adjusting my grind starting today to get more hours earlier in the day so I'm not left feeling like I'm playing catch up on hours and I can have a good midday goof off sesh with my fellow and give my wife a break. Unlikely to catch 50h this week but I am happy with my volume effort and the tiredness is slowly fading away.

I punted off way too much in sloppy spots today. I think it's good to punt off occasionally as long as it's on purpose but I kept doing it by accident today. Just a glitch in my thought process that comes down to in game habits and out of game study habits. Hard to get any better if I can't even hit my baseline performance level.

Still doing good on food and exercise, tempted to stop posting about it but that is my classic kiss of death move. Do a good thing for 4 days and assume I will have it figured out for life.

Thanks man! Yeah red line and green line have been good friends through 2k+ games so far which has been a nice treat. Mostly 9-11 tabling. I glitch out at 12 tables and I think that's my breaking point where my hourly probably becomes worse if I add more tables. For the moment I'd rather 9 table nicely than 14 table poorly.

Hourly has been just a shade under $40 playing mostly $15s. Current winrate doesn't seem sustainable but who knows. I think I would have a higher hourly grinding MTT's and 180s but I want to build some $ before dealing with the MTT soulcrush.
