My Head's a Shed, My Shed's a Goat Challenge My Head's a Shed, My Shed's a Goat Challenge

One of my dear friends spoke to me not to long ago and asked "why do I just look into my computer screen knowing I'm going to get binked?. What is it all about? My head feels like a shed and my sheds a goat!"

Both of us believe we are decent enough players to make some sort of living from poker but lately things have gotten a little bit stale and constantly getting frustrated with the wonderful game.

We have both decided to get back to basics and forget all about the cash! We have decided that volume rather than our bank balance is more important in our poker career at this point.

The aim is to play 100k hands at every level of 6max nl. We will skip 2nl however as it is just to painful. So starting at 5nl we will knock up 100k hands anaylise how we went and then move on.

Feel free to have a favorite in this challenge and talk about either of our games. I will be known as the Shed, with my dear friend clearly being a Goat!

Let the Shed and Goat get grinding!!!!

I am that friend.

Totally agree with Op here, sometimes because you have been playing poker for a while, the biggest problem becomes you. Bad decisions, poor bank roll management, then you expect to still win whichever stakes you play. It's a dangerous game when you think you have an entitlement to be a winning poker player but continually make careless decisions based on things outside of poker logic. So i think concentrating on poker rather than money is vital at this stage, the long term aim is still too make money but short term is back to basics.
100k hands at each level starting at 5nl is the start.

thanks, play around 1k hands an hour, so I reckon a 100 hours of play roughly, should be able to do that before 2013 although the gf won't let me play through the holidays probs lol

In a shocking new development a new player has joined the challenge. A feared player from the shadowy depths of LY poker. This Luckbox will be known as the head and will be forming the trio on this 100k hand challenge.

Will he answer the call?? One of my friends has just started getting into poker and has pretty much no clue. I have arranged to teach him and stake him for a 100k hands at 2nl. With him giving me 50% of whateva his roll is at the end of it. Lets hope this fish can swim

Im the first one to reach the 10k hands milestone, not with much success I might add. Haven't played 5nl for years but the players are no where near as bad as I thought they where. 90k hands to go zzzzzz but it must be done.

Funny how one game can change things, people saying we will be spending big in January now and we will defo stay up etc. Can see Tarabt heading to United in January can you?

Yer still going strong lol, has been harder than I thought. I dont think there is to much difference now between 5nl up to 50nl. Will be interesting to compare how we go throughout each level

Most of my time was spent playing open face chinese tonight (everyone should play it, it's too good!) managed to put in 1500 hands, session started off bad as usual but I found some rhythm finally and I reckon I might have adjusted accordingly to 5nl after just 11k hands we will see though.

Only played 400 hands last night before I realized i was way to tired to play. 100k hands before new year is looking pretty hard now. Hopefully reach 20k hands by the end of this week and then I will have everyday off to grind apart from doing xmas stuff.

Had a really funny session today, some kid giving me loads of **** and then sat me at 50nl for a bit before running off. Strayed away from the challenge to play him for comedy value, apparently i need to learn the basics lol.

What were you doing sitting 50NL? Do your multiple PG&C threads (as well as the number of game variants mentioned therein) in the last 30 days indicate a problem with focus?

Good luck. I'd love to do something like this but just can't get the volume in.
