Hi,

I usually play one table for 4 sessions of 50 minutes a day with bankroll of 6 buyins.

Goal is to beat level by level, I start at NL2.

Two days past I blew my bankroll from 12$, to 6$. I will try this with total 6 bankroll reloads at 12$.

I will give shots at higher level since I will have 6 buyins of that level, plus 6 buyins of previous. So it works like this:

NL5: 12$ + 30$, total bankroll 42$
NL10: 42$ + 60$, total bankroll 102$
NL25: 102$ + 150$, total bankroll 252$, and so on for NL50, NL100, NL200.

I may need to withdraw some earnings along the way.

Ultimate goal: generate $15k in cash game earnings and start playing live tournaments at 500$ - 800$ per ticket in Europe, as a live poker starting point.

My background: I have a political science degree and have worked in technology sector as a web developer. I am not new with poker, I was introduced to poker 15-17 years ago, later did my shots at the game online for couple years playing cash at micro stakes, also won the EPT package online and did some local live poker tourney cashes. Olso I am into spirituality, so crystal healing helps me along the way to refresh and sometimes I add values to game cards I am dealt as from tarot, cartomancy and numerology.

My poker moto: don't play limits/tournaments with money you don't have. (It means, take careful shots, with money you have).

Hence the moto above: 6 buyins and 6 reloads is good with playing one table I think, since I have experience.

After the first session I played today I now feel how it is stressful to play with small buyin bankroll.

Over the first session of 50 minutes I have lost 50BB - 1$ and I am down to 2.5 buyins now.

Previously I told how I am playing limits with 6 buyins. I still want to make it possible. However, more buyins at a level would give me more peace. But I am playing only one table.

I know industry standard is 30 buyins at a level to feel comfortable.

So, after a lot of hesitation I start again.

My strategy is to take 10buyins shots at different levels. Now I am at NL2, started the day with 13.8€ bankroll.

Goal is to do up to 12 sessions of 50 minutes with 20 minute breaks, 6 times a week. Playing 1 table.

Looking forward to level up to different levels all the way to NL400 and beyond.

So i thought I will track my progress here again, because I tried to play 3,5 buyins of NL20€ the game didn't look that hard. Also I played two local live tournaments, going deep, but finished just before the money.

I decided to post here again, because I am starting from the bottom again. Don't want to add more money to account, so will be playing NL2 with 8 buyins which left in my bankroll. Will try to build my banckroll and set aside money for live tourneys.

My plan is to reach NL20, and have money for 5-6 live tournaments, so will be trying to make it in money in live tourneys and play NL20.

Let's say it's day 1 now. The bankroll is 16.76€, I will try to play 3-4 sessions of 1 hour - 1 table today.

My previous rough realistic estimates were winning 4-6 buyins in a week playing 1 table, let's see how it goes, I will post my progress here, hope it will not be a bust )

So,

Day1, Bankroll 16.76€, playing NL2.

I also find it hard to stay motivated at the lowest limit NL2, but need to find motivation and discipline and maybe I will update you with amazing progress and inspire you

So after hesitation I am setting myself again to play online cash games. I have deposited 26$ to my account and will be playing NL2.

Goal is to play 3-5 sessions of 1h, 5-6 days a week.

Goal is to make an income from 400$ a month in 5 months.

I came to this number, because this is the time it would take me to earn 400-1000$ from freelancing, 2-3mo of learning included. So I did this calculation and instead of buying an online coding course subscription for 26$, I deposited this money and will try to do my best at the table.

I only play 1 table.

Already played 2 sessions today and I am up 1,3$. I planning on having a break on Sunday and start playing from Monday.

I don't feel newbie in poker but looking forward to buying Harrington book on 6max online cash games.

Also after becoming so called pro with monthly income of 400$+ (would kind of cover my living expenses), would like to transition to live tournament play. I would do this also with two Harrington books on tourneys and action at low buyin local casinos first.

So, Day 1: 2 sessions, +1.29$, bankroll 27.29$, playing NL2.

GL bro!

Don't get mad about this, but I'll give you a couple of tips to make your process successful and get you to the finish line.

1. You need to play more and try to be motivated! I think with only 1table you should play aminimum 1000hands a DAY!

2. Dont analyze too small statistic. U need atleast 100k hands to analyze your game to make some big improvements in your game.

3. Dont think about Limits ! When you can BEAT NL2 over 10/bb 100/hands you can beat NL5 NL10 and NL25

How is OP going to acheive 1k hands per day with one table? Let's be a little realistic... He would need to double, maybe triple his work load minimum (10 hours per day). Hands per day seems irrelevant if you are just starting to learn. Probably more important to use intention while playing after studying something

This isn't true.

@OP what are your study habits now? Harrington is a little outdated, no?

1. If I could easily play fast rush games 1000hands per day with one table so its realistic!

2. If you know the variance of poker you should know that small samples is maybe not that accurate. when you have data over 100k hands its much easier to make some improvements.

-of course you can also analyze sessions and individual shares. But if you want to know for sure, for example, if you are bluffing often enough, you need much more data, and I think that 100k hands is a pretty good amount so that the variance does not cause wrong information. I hope you understand what I mean.
