Hello everyone,
My name is Paulius. My home town is near city named Klaipėda. My citizenship is Lithuanian. I am quite young, just 21 years old, but though I am young, I have experience, not only in poker, but as well in sport, sales and other spheres. Anyway, today I am on academic holidays in my university, which mean I skip this year in studies. This was my decision, because I had too much activities, too much stress and it was difficult to deal with it. So, now I am totally free from studies, I can take my all time to my hobies, job and sport.
Talking about the poker - I started to play this game, when I was in school, in ninth class, when the Facebook started to be popular in our country. My friend told me that there is a game in Facebook - Zynga poker. I registered in Facebook and started too play POKER (I didn't realize how this game will become BIG part of my life). I played it on brakes between lectures in school. I played at free time at home. It was brilliant discovery, because it attracted me a lot. Later afer 1-2 years my classmate (good friend) told me that in Microgaming (room Triobet) is going Freeroll tournaments. I started too play this type of tournaments at the age of 16-17. And after several atempts I won first 0,02$. I was such happy, that I ran too my father and said - DAD I WON 0.02$. And this was the start of my poker career. Later I won several $ and started to play SNG. I build Bankroll until 50-60$ and started play NL2 6-max Regular tables in Microgaming. When I was in limit NL4 i found out Holdem Manager. I played over half a year with this program, without any understanding how it works. Then I found out local Lithuanian poker forum "Pokerio Karta" and post my stats, with the idea that somebody will help me, to develop my self in poker. I received tone of comments, with ideas how to increase my productivity in playing poker. I really wanted to develope, to study and to gamble gamble all the time. Finally, I reached NL10 limits. I have played over 300k hands with the winrate about 3-4bb/100. Then I started to do shots to NL20. I played in NL20 over 600k hands and I was break even or a little bit in minus (but I had rakeback over 40percent so all in all I was winning player). So, I struggled in NL20 about 2-3 years, until 2015.09 when something happen. I had to cashout all my roll ( which was about 1k$). So, November 29 of 2015, I decided to do challange. I had 10$ in my PokerStars account, so I decided that I have enough knowledge, I have enough experience, I know a lot poker players, which whom I can work and study together.
So, my DECISION is to start play poker as a profesional, and view to this game as the business.
What plan I made:
1) Start from NL2 with bankroll 10$
2) Study, even 1 hour per day
3) Work with my couch
4) Start to write blog in 2+2 (for myself, better motivation to play and share ideas with others poker players and and although it's good chance to develope my english skills)
Now, I have played 14 000 hands in NL2 and NL5 and build my roll till 80$.
Now, I am playing 3 tables of NL5 (I am very confused, because I always played 6-8 tables, and now I see that 3-4 tables is more better because all your focus is to poker).
Secondly, other rule is exit all social networks when I am playing (because in past it was huge problem).
Now, I bought monthly license in Run It Once - so I can watch and study professional videos.
My list of books, which I will read in nearly future:
1) "Mental game of poker" (Today just started)
2) "Treat a poker like a business"
3) "Poker Mindset" (I read it before 2-3 years, so now it's good opportunity to refresh news from this book)
Day before, I met other poker player, who plays full-time (he live only from poker) - so he suggested my good idea -> Play 6 days, and have 1 day without a poker. So, I decided that monday will be that day, when I am dissociate of poker and do other things.
So, from now I have eight and a half month until my studies in university ( I am studying in International School of Management (ISM) in Lithuania capital Vilnius. So, my main focus is:
1) Job ( I am working in insurance company "Compensa", like a financial concultant )
2) Poker ( 3 hours of grind and 1 hour for studies per day)
3) Sport ( I am going to gym 4 times a week. My destination is 95kg (now my weigh is 90kg) )
4) Diet ( clean food everyday)
5) Self-development (books about communicating, about body-language, leadership and so on).
I decided to stay in my home town Klaipėda, and move to Vilnius, when I will be more finance stable and when I will be become stronger in my activities.
I add graphs after 2015 November 29 day, when I returned to poker.
I hope that some of readers will say so feed back and will give advices how to play or how to study (methods, ideas and so on.)
