PLO5 to PLO100 by the end of the year PLO5 to PLO100 by the end of the year

Hey guys,

i have just started to play PLO and thought it might be a good idea to share my journey and hopefully get and give some great tips. My goal is to play PLO100 online regularly by the end of the year along with the occasional live grind. In order to achieve my goals i need to work very hard, but i am willing to do this. Sometimes i like to play omaha mtts as well but mostly on sundays combined with one or two hold'em mtts/satellites to live events. My focus is definetely on the cg grind!

For now i have ordered a PLO book, bought omaha manager 2 and started to watch some videos on youtube. I have also joined a PLO study group and always seeking to find u2u partners as i think this is a great way of learning and understanding and also motivate each other. so feel to drop me a msg if you want to do theoretical work together on the great of omaha!

My current approach is to start the day with a session review or video and get a lot of hands in afterwards. I like learning by doing so i try to bring myself in a lot of situations and therefore i thought that PLO Zoom on pokerstars is a good starting point. I really have no clue about rake and stuff but from what ive heard so far is that a good rakestructure and rakeback is somehow important in PLO. I also have some money on partypoker and 888 and play the same limit over there. Once i feel more comfortable i would move up, deposit a bit more and use a FDB/Reload on Microgaming/ACR to play PLO10 with aggressive shot taking on PLO20.

Gonna jump back to the zoom pool for now as i already have to chase losses and be back later that day to post some hands which are very questionable for me. I also want to discuss general concepts in PLO as i often find myself lost wether it is pre or postflop.

i hope you follow my thread and i wish best of luck.

After 3 hours of Zoom yesterday, i have to say that this type of playing is not fun for me. It is going to fast, it sucks that i can't see how the hand ended when i fold and there is no dynamic. I think that my learning effects are way better on regular tables. So i am gonna stick with several sites but try to play most of my volume on partypoker for now as i have a running FDB until the end of september. I also found a Coach yesterday for a reasonable price so i will invest parts of my bankroll and looking for coaching on a weekly basis or so.

Here is my biggest loss from the session yesterday:

had no real information on villain yet, but he was no maniac and more on the tight side.

my first impulse was just calling the river but on the other hand, i thought that he might call with a weaker flush or nut straight. I saw the stack and was like "ok he has $2 left, ship it". It's not so easy for me to handle these stacksizes, as it is still 50bb. but ingame i did a few mistakes yesterday and i need to work on this subject.

Session ended with a smashing 50bb winnings!

Today's goal is to focus for a long session on partypoker, think about my handselection especially in BB defending and learn how to mark hands in hm2 to review them tomorrow!

I think i am doing some progress but of course, villains are very bad. It is super nice to learn every day and making small steps. Unfortunately, the PLO study group is somehow dead, no one is posting there.

Next session will be on sunday, taking 2 days off the computer to spend some time with my girl. On monday i'll take my first coaching session and then i will re-evaluate if i already move up to PLO10

Have a nice weekend and good luck!

    Hey guys,
back in town. Moved up to PLO10 last week and so far i think it was a good decision. There is way more traffic and the players not really better. Still, i do have a lot to learn and put a lot of effort into theory.

I was thinking of switching to MTTs for the next couple of weeks since all the great series are running but i have decided to fully concentrate on PLO and maybe play a few PLO events on the side.

    Goals for this month:

    - find people to work closely with
    - getting Pokerjuice
    - work through my PLO book
    - watch and work through one Jnandez BR Challenge Video per week
    - playing through my Partypoker FDB

Didn't want to put it all in one post, so i analyzed my last session and took a look at the biggest pots i have played.

Any comments or recommendations on this hand, especially sizings? I think shoving the Turn with TP+Nutfd+8 as a few straight blockers should be a good play.

In this hand, i wasn't sure about my Turn sizing. He is so short that i want to get in on this street but he is only calling. What about the river?

Comments on this hand? What do you think about my flop raise? Is it too face up? I thought that his preflop 3bet Range would consist a lot of high cards so i wanted to get in against AA* and strong draws. Since we are also drawing to a flush and a full house and blocking some of his draws, it might be better to just call the flop?

          Another day in the books:

quite happy with my day and i kinda feel exhausted which i haven't been for a longer time. After analyzing yesterdays session i had a nice 2 hour u2u session and played a 4 hour session afterwards. Finished the day in the green zone and also met my partypoker cashback target.

only sharing with guys i am doing reviews and stuff.

Really excited about my first WCOOP PLO Event - playing the $11 6max. It has a nice structure and i always enjoy the thrill of a tournament.

Also adding the $7.50 6max, a $2.20 6max and a hyper 6max later. Playing also a $2.20 8max on Partypoker so i guess this will be a nice tourney grind today! Probably going to play some cash games at the side so looking forward for the grind. Already prepared myself with Sushi, cooled drinks and taking a nap now before i jump into the action! Had a very nice MTT grind on tuesday with 13 PLO MTTs played. Unfortunately i busted early in the WCOOP Event where we get it in on the turn with straight vs straight and he rivered his flush for 3x average :/ Only one smallish cash overall but had a lot of fun so will def repeat a grind like this was. Playing PLO MTTs is very exhausting for me but i think i can be very profitable in them due to my tourney experience in NLH.

Yesterday i continued the cashgame grind:

Pretty smooth session and i do have the feeling that my decisions are getting better and better. Especially in multiway pots and hand selection pre.

          plan for today:

          running
          cooking
          grinding
          reviewing last 2 days

          see ya
