I also think he cant have K4s here for the same reason he can't have sets. All of his 2pr+ hands raise either flop or turn. It's just a spot where you have the essential nuts and you have to shove regardless, even if he is folding 90% here. He might be able to talk himself into a fold with Kxhh but I don't see him folding Axhh.

Ha ye it is a long time. best of 3 sets and he can play me a max of 4 times a year. Also if i get injured at any point before a match or during a match we call it off (if during we remember the score and carry on at later date). Personally I dont think there is that much variance in tennis at my standard. When we are talking professionals its def different as they are all sick players and only a few things in it mentally and ability wise.

Even if he gets good groundstrokes and serve, things like mental game and footwork and figuring out how to beat a player are really hard things to learn in this period of time imo.

But will def not be taking any more bets, ive known ben since i was 4 so know no conning with ability wise and what not will be going on

tbh I still think players with a brain can turn up with sets here but there are def alot of players at my stakes that will be never winning here u are correct.

Been looking at playing tennis more often, probably didn't play enough as a kid to get any good but still a good laugh, plus the mental side of it is pretty impressive and has a bit of a crossover to poker.

Anyway congrats on the year, keep it up!

How much experience do you have in tennis? I'm trying to picture how big the skill gap is. I played competitive junior tennis for 10 years when I was young and I would have given 300:1 to alot of poker players I've met pretty easily if I was still in any type of shape. Although I would definitely shorten it to only 1 year/6 matches just to reduce the commitment to the bet because now you have to meet up multiple times a year now and who knows what you're both doing in 4 years or 6 years. I think in 6 1/2 years depending on how good you currently are they can close the skill gap a little if they are a natural athlete, get really good coaching, and really want to work hard... I can't see you ever losing if you've played at a high level before though.

As ben said after sleeping on it I have wussed out. Genuinley couldnt stop thinking about the bet after and feel like it was effecting me playing poker as wasnt concentrating on poker lol and thinking how pointless it is for me lol. I honestly think the actual odds are like 1000-1 but what I was basically doing is freerolling him £30k which when im 30 and maybe thinking about kids I would not have the money for lol for £100 that i wouldnt care about.

And tbh I still feel there is no way ben would beat me, but I feel the bet would also cost me way more than £100 in just thinking about lol.

But ye is very nice of ben to just let me out and appreciate it alot.

I actually think tennis has helped my poker a ton on the mental side and I also think that flips over and poker has helped my tennis a ton also

The flat we went to view on saturday was pretty much nothing like the pictures. Was way smaller than we thought it was and although the front of the block of flats looked nice the back was pretty grim and they were ex-council flats (although look nice from the front) it was clear that most of the flats were still council owned by the people coming in and out of them
We were meant to view 2 flats but the other one cancelled on us 15 mins before, although was in same block so didnt matter that much as we wouldnt have gone for it anyway.

Just a quick one for any FR players, a good friend of mine that i grew up with has just started coaching and has been one of the biggest winners at 100 FR for the last 5/6 years and is still winning unlike a lot of coaches. Have talked strat with him on many occasion which has helped me with my game loads over the years.

Thanks! To be honest I have only read a few snippets of books and never really enjoyed any. I think they are good for beginners just starting to learn the game but chatting face to face with friends or other online poker players in skype chat groups will get u much further than a book will take u.

I play a max of 12 6max tables, usually do 2-3 hour sessions (2 aday so about 5-6 hours a day)

what hands do you think you make x/f that you dont win vs at sd? regs tend not to turn pears like this into bluffs so i guess AJ/AT etc would be a check/cry for him.

I actually turned my hand in a bluff nutsegger, wasnt for value. I dont think there are many hands that are worse than mine he would call with, potentially KJ if he was feeling spicy but I think he would probably check this at some point before river.

I think I can get KQ to fold for a start, and any Ax that he has is not going to be happy with me shoving and it probably would be a -ev call to make with an A here. I have alot of AQ/56/57 kinda hands and he would probably expect me to check back a K or KQ. I also think he would shove AK/KK/QQ/JT, only hand which he is happy with is AA so think its quite a good spot to shove.

Pretty sick pot vs a reg and a whale, having talked over the hand I think flop is a x/f but once I have cbet turn imo is very close. I dont think im beat by the whale that often and the reg should have a ton of hands that fold. Would like to know some other views on this hand, sure most of which will say fold
