Who am I? DescartesPoker was created nearly 3 years ago (pro since 2009) after a burnout which nearly ended my poker career.

I had so many distractions from the outside that I could not focus anymore at the tables.

I guess my drive and passion for the grind were gone.Also the feeling of isolation started to wear down on me big time so both things combined were close to end me as a player, for good.

After a few weeks off I decided to give ago at streaming which later on became the beginning of a new poker journey.I made a public bankroll challenge in one of the most reputable spanish poker magazines www.poker10.com and the interaction with the community helped me find my mission and purpose in life which is to help others through my knowledge and experience.

Over the years I have worked with top elite players and coaches but always had my own game when it comes to putting into practice what I learnt with them...and that is my intention to help players develop their own game with the tools I will provide them with.I could write for way longer about this journey but I will leave it for the occasion it would be too long of a story.

I recently became a coach in www.pokerambition.com which is “TheWakko” academy where you can access one of my webinars so that you have an idea on how I approach coaching and the game of course.I highly recommend this poker school.

I am currently playing nl400 -600 and a touch of 1k (recently left behind nl200)

Coaching and running schools held my back from playing higher as nl200 was a really comfortable stake for me to play on.I am a very low vol player who focuses on quality over quantity.

Regarding this month I have been doing great so far.

I recently became a father so it may very well be the poker gods cheering for my newborn.

As said in my previous post I am a low volume grinder. One of the reasons why is because I usually play up to 4 tables so that I can focus and enjoy the analytical part of the game without too much noise by having too many actions to take at the same time.

I did draw a target volume/money to start opening 1k again and it seems like it's gonna happen really soon.

Today it's been a rather non productive one because I´ve had many technical issues with PT4.

It always feels kinda frustrating to not be able to put in my vol cos of this stuff.

I call it the day with a small win which is still a win.



On the other hand I have put in a nice study session over one of my leakes on the Turn cbetting node in SRP IP.

A sad note to the day is that I have been offered for the second time RTA from a random dude on discord. Gamed must be protected and we all should denounce this type of behaviour when noticed.

Yesterday was a day of lights and shadows.

I played quite well the first part of the day and at night somewhat distracted and found himself involved in a slightly more passive game

I recently checked the database and found a series of points to look at

The idea is to work on each point of the game and take it to the tables. At the end of the month I will review these leaks again and check wherther I am in the right direction.

This process of continuous improvement is called the TAI system.

Volumen has not been great and still very unfocused at the tables.I have decided to take one step at a time and rebuild my habits.

Becoming a dad changes your life big time so rebuilding and figuring things out should be the way to go.

I feel a bit guilty for not reaching my volumen level but at the same time I need to forgive myself and try to get better .

Regarding my content in english I would love to hear your suggestions content wise...let me know what you'd like to see.

I am just 40 years old ... a father a business man... tough to play as many table as I used to as well as time, focus and energy.

As you can see most of the vol was played on zoom tables where has to be tough to do predatory behaviour

Yesterday was an average day in which I ran bad on the smaller stakes and good on the 1k

This hand was played vs a weaker opponent from whom I am not gonna generate much EV on the checking or small betting line as I do not expect any bluffing going on in future streets.

You could argue that I block continuing range but ve this particular opponent I estimate that my Ev it only going to come from worse continuous and punish his fd.

Line looks fine to me. Wondered if you could bet 1.25x on this texture, but on closer analysis, you can’t. No faults in this hand, nice turn card :P
