hello my name is obg and i will be carrying out a challenge for the next 12 weeks. my challenge is to reach the highest stakes i can while also achieving my goals.
my goals will be as follow:
  • move up stakes using solid bankroll management
  • play with as much focus as i can sustain
  • play as many hands as i can while maintaining focus
  • post interesting hands here for criticism and discussion

i will be 2 tabling 6-max zoom on pokerstars
i will start with a bankroll of $50
i will begin by playing 2nl
i will move up to the next stake when i have 20 buy-ins for it and move down if i am down to 30 buy-ins for the previous stake
for example i will move up to 5nl when i have $100, and move down to 2nl if i have less than $60

on this thread i will post graphs and hand histories as well as reply to any questions and ask my own

Bankroll management looks very aggro. I'd suggest moving up at 25+ BI.
But good luck to you

im willing to increase risk of ruin to move up the stakes more quickly because the goal of the challenge is to get to as high stakes as possible
and thanks

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

no real reads on BB but from what i had seen he seemed like a standard 2nlz fishreg
of course, i'm a fishreg too so any comments will be appreciated

flop - thoughts on bet sizing are that i want to get value out of QJ+ hands, flush draws.
in retrospect i think i could have raised a bit bigger.
i just call so that he's more likely to bet the turn with his top pairs and flush draws (on non turn cards) and because i wouldn't exactly be happy to get bottom set in 230bb deep in such a passive game where he does flat QQ and 99 here a lot and doesn't get much else in so aggressively imo

turn - i think i like calling here because people in 2nlz overfold to raises here. raising is definitely an option, dunno which is best really.

river - deffinitely think i should have raised here. was over-scared of better boats but really he can have flushes and top pairs and tbh i've even AA and KK flat pre sometimes, god knows why, so that too

    day 2 over
    played pretty poorly
decided not to play 3k hands because of that
still ended up a little bit in terms of all-in adjusted profit

Much bigger flop, raise big turn (loadsss of draws in there we want to charge him a lot to see another card) & as played yes very easy shove.

      went ok
didn't get much volume in today because I went into town

btw i'm not planning on doing too many hand histories until i get to 10nl or something because 2nl is about as boring as it gets it seems. i think ive been playing pretty poorly so far but i'm improving pretty solidly so there's that . . .
