Haven't been paying much attention to prices since everything's ridiculously cheap, but I just got a bottle of Evian for ~30 CZK (Czech crowns), and a beer for 15 CZK. So yeah, seems about right.

--

Last night was a disaster and really off-putting in so many ways. Since I don't dress like I'm a construction worker, which seems to be the standard for most people in this city, the casino staff immediately assumed I was some sort of whale who'd come there to gamble big. The highest game that was running yesterday was 25/50 (basically $1/2), and I said I'd play that but I'd also be interested in playing higher.

I go over to the bar, and then the floor manager approaches me and goes, really desperately for some reason, 'hey hey we could, just for you, start a 100/200 game if you want!' - and it was incredibly obvious that the plan was to round up a bunch of regs just so that they could play the new tourist whale in town.

Anyway, I say sure yeah I'll play, and we get started. I get to the table, and I see the most disgusting, pathetic group of individuals I've seen in my entire life. They were all Czech except for one guy who was Australian (I think, couldn't tell for sure), and the Czech players basically looked indescribably miserable. I honestly have never seen anything like it. They all looked extremely unhealthy, dressed very poorly, barely spoke (except occasionally in Czech to each other), were smoking constantly (this was ****ing absurd, I could barely breathe), and kept staring me down in the most unfriendly manner imaginable. Again, this is all fine, but it makes for such an incredibly ****ty atmosphere.

The second I sit down one of the Czech losers goes, 'HEY, MINIMUM BUY-IN 20K OK?', and I just say yeah lol. The game gets started and the Czech regs are all pretty awful in general, but obviously very nitty, so the game's pretty far from great. Anyway, I end up getting stacked after 30 minutes after getting it in w/ 99 on 9234hhxx after I opened pre and one of the rapist-looking Czech regs isolated me by min-3betting A5s. After that I was done and just got up and left.

So yeah, today I'm just gonna play online while trying to decide whether I wanna wash my clothes or burn them since they reek of smoke. Absolutely disgusting. Wouldn't ever recommend Prague for live poker.

Put in a shortish online session just now, +$555. Nothing overly exciting, ran hot on my main site and played well/dominated small pots on my other site.

Gonna head out now and do a little bit of shopping + get dinner one last time in Praha, and then I'm gonna grind for another 2-3 hrs or so.

Time for an update. I've been a little MIA from 2+2 since I've been grinding pretty hard since I got back from Prague. A lot of days have basically just been me waking up ridiculously late -> heading to the casino -> playing for 9/10 hrs -> coming back home looking like **** and passing out -> repeat. The glamorous live grind.

Anyway, I started off running absolutely horribly after Prague. I booked 3 straight losing sessions at the casino (before leaving I'd booked 3 huge wins and 0 losses), and right now I'm at 5 wins and 5 losses (Prague inc.). Results-wise things aren't too bad though since I'm currently up $4161 over 79 live hours this month.

I've also been grinding online, and I've been winning pretty steadily there even though I haven't played a ton. I'm up $2253 online over ~15k hands or so.

So, in total, I'm currently up $6414 this month.

--

Sadly I'll be going back to work tomorrow, and I've got a pretty huge week coming up. Long hours, a lot of responsibilities, some travel etc. But yeah, in 4-5 weeks I'll be off for an entire month, so it's not too bad. This means I won't be able to play as much live poker from now on though, and I'll be going back to my old routine of playing live on weekends and grinding online on work days.

--

Was gonna make this a longer post by addressing a pretty big leak/ego thing I've got when playing live, but I'll save that for my next post. I've basically found myself really caring way too much about what the players who are considered the best regulars in the casino think of my game (two players; one who's actually really good and one who's extremely mediocre), and as a result I've made some horribly suboptimal plays and mistakes. But yeah, I'll post more details and examples later.

You are not alone, I went through the same exact thing you mentioned above. Just the other night a regular told me how bad I was when I bluffed him in a spot he didn't expect. He went on telling everyone around him how bad I play. I was mad for a min or two, I was even tempted to tell him what range I put him on but thought for a moment and laughed. His opinion means 0, what matters is I have a better idea how he sees my image and can possibly exploit it in the future.

I've never had this problem, but it's obviously absolutely ridiculous to berate another regular like this.

While it doesn't/shouldn't matter, it's pretty obvious to me that I'm well-respected by a big % of the regs, and I certainly get along fine with most, but it's just the way I've ended up playing a few times vs the two specific regs I mentioned in my previous post. It sounded a bit more dramatic than it actually is though, I've just overanalyzed a couple of spots to such an extreme extent that I've missed simple details vs them. This would literally never occur online since it's so easy to keep track of all the numbers, but it's happened a couple of times live when I've been tired etc.

Anyway, it's not a huge leak by any means, not sure why I used such strong wording, but I just need to remember to calmly focus on my own game and making good decisions at all times - especially when I'm extremely tired towards the end of a long session.

--

Played a little bit online yday and won ~$170, nothing incredibly exciting.

Not sure exactly what the plan'll be for the rest of the week wrt poker, but I'm thinking tomorrow will be a pretty big online day (4-5 hours, the biggest of days). On Thursday I'll just study, won't play at all since I have to get up insanely early on Friday. I'll also be getting off work lol-late on Friday so I'm not sure whether live poker will really be an option, but I'll play poker in some form. And on Saturday I'll definitely put in a long live session, and possibly on Sunday too since I've got Monday off.

So yeah, a ton of poker coming up.

Yday was fun. Got up at 3.30 am, got back home around 7.30 pm and went straight to the casino. Anyway, I put in 4ish hours before leaving/going home to die. Ended up winning $530 without playing any overly interesting or big pots.

My throat's been killing me all night, but I'm feeling fine now so I'll prob be going to the casino in a few hours. Again, the plan's to play a ton this weekend. Last couple of days of April, hoping for a strong finish to the month.

Just got back home, so I figured I'd make a quick post now that April's officially in the books.

NL100-200 (90% NL100) 6m online: +$2166

LLSNL (~€2/3): +$5759 over 98 hours of play

Total results: +$7925

--

Quite happy w/ the results this month obviously. My online month wasn't too extreme/mentally demanding due to the relatively low # of hands played, and the swings weren't too crazy. Live's been an entirely different beast over the past month though; I was up ~$5k after the first 3 sessions/30ish hours, so I've basically made an additional $759 over the last 10 sessions/68 hours. So yeah, swings were involved.

--

Will try to make an effort to post a couple of hands tomorrow and think of some reasonable goals for May.

To win $6k at 2/3 over 100 hours is very very good. This is not swings. This is swing. In the upward direction.

Nice month gl for May.

Good luck with the transition. As long as you can stay focused during the slower action periods of playing live there's no reason you can't crush at least the lower limit games.

I'm pretty sure you understand what I mean. $6k is obviously very good in terms of bb/h or bb/100, but the graph for the month looks ridiculous.

We'll see how much of a transition there'll actually be. It's still gonna be mostly online for a few reasons, but I will continue to try to play as much live as possible. I'd also like to play higher, but ~€2/3 is the highest limit the casino offers.

So, the month's been a little slow so far wrt poker. Didn't put in any online volume this week, and basically just spent long hours working. I have, however, put in a total of 19 hours of live poker over the weekend. Yesterday I booked a smallish $320 win, and tonight I ended up winning $2045, which puts the month at +$2365. Didn't run extraordinarily well or anything, it's just the same as always; fish overbluffing and people playing 200bb+ poker horribly.

This month will continue being a little slow since I've got a decent amount of things I need to deal with at work, but that's fine since June's gonna be huge in terms of live hours. I'm still aiming for 50 hours this month though.

As for the online side of things, my stupidly expensive PC's been acting up since day 1, and earlier today I finally got around to taking it to a service center/repair shop. They're gonna take a look at it and fix it, but it'll take 2-3 weeks. This means it's gonna be a massive struggle for me to put in online volume since I'll have to use my laptop, again. We'll see how things go, but I doubt I'll manage to put in more than 10k hands online this month, so I won't bother setting any strict goals.

On a related note - I've contacted someone regarding Pio-oriented coaching, so I'm hoping we'll be able to work something out soon.

Time for a quickie. Didn't play any poker at all Mon-Thurs, but on Friday I put in a live session where I ended up winning $226. Yesterday I went out for a change, which was fun considering I've definitely been prioritizing poker over social activities this year and haven't been going out nearly as much as last year. But yeah, obviously can't have a Saturday without poker, so I put in a ~90 min online session when I got back home, +$283. Closing in on +$3k for the month.

--

I downloaded a new live poker app and entered all my data the other day, so I figured I'd share some 2017 stats.

Total live winnings 2017: +$14565
Hourly: $61/h
Hourly rate in bb: 21.5bb (lol)

Total online winnings 2017: ~+$7504 (not exactly sure what my hourly is, but it's in the $35-$40 region)

Total winnings 2017: +$22069

I don't really want to focus too much on results, but it admittedly feels pretty good to almost have won more than I did last year in total.

--

I'm planning on putting in a proper online session today, and I'm also gonna do something I haven't done in ages; play a few tournaments. Not exactly sure which ones I'll play yet, but I feel like I'd be fine with lighting $300-400 on fire (so prob a couple of SCOOPs and the weekly major on my main site).

Yday didn't really go as planned. I realized my PC (which I got back this weekend) still isn't working properly for whatever reason, and I couldn't be bothered putting in a huge session after spending an entire decade trying to fix it basically. I did play for like 35 mins but then decided I wasn't up for it mentally. Booked a small $146 win, and didn't reg a single tournament.

Today I played a little bit on both my main site and second site/backup site (or w/e you wanna call it), and things were almost undeservedly easy. Just got it in in a bunch of trivial spots and held. I'm also gonna post a graph for a change since I put in more than 3 hands on my backup site (HEM still can't/won't import hands from my main site lol, which is pretty tilting since, as I've mentioned a few times, it's ~80% of my online volume):

And I ended up breaking even on my main site, so a pretty decent day all in all.

Very very short online sesh today, +$256. Only spotted 1-2 recs over my 6-7 tables/two sites (both lobbies even lol), and as much as I love battling regulars I'd rather grind hard when the tables are great. Yeah haha, I paid for the unlimited version. It was only $30 though, the cheapest of times! (Charging $30 for it is obviously borderline criminal).

      --

Really felt like playing a few SCOOPs today, but having to go through a minimum of ~5 billion blind levels in one day is a pretty tough task when you have a job.

I'm thinking maybe I'll stay home on Fri or Sat and play a bunch of tournaments instead of going to the casino. Hopefully that'll be enough to get me to never wanna play another tournament again.

So, I'm finally back home after a 2-day work trip. The plan's to go to the casino tonight and put in a ~9 hour session. As for my little SCOOP dream, tomorrow'll be the day. I'm planning on playing the following events:

      $27 NLHE 6m (event 49, L)
      $215 NLHE 6m (event 49, M)
      $55 NLHE PKO (event 50, M)

Not an ideal # of good events tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll find something half-decent outside of SCOOP + maybe something on Winamax too.

Ended up going to the casino both yesterday and on Friday. -$676 on Friday and +$183 yesterday. Two pretty boring sessions where I was card dead for huge periods of time. Ran quite poorly on Friday when it mattered, and especially in one ~500 bb pot where BB c4bets (good reg) my BTN 3b (KQss), I flat, flop A93ssx x/x, turn 2s, he bets big and I call, river 2, he jams, I call and he obviously flips over AA.

Gonna have a look on Stars and see what's running today and at what times to see what I can play. Still looking to throw a minimum of $300-400 into a lake. I know there's the SCOOP main, but it starts ridiculously late. Might end up playing anyway though, who needs sleep.
