My Background
19 y/o student from the UK, been playing poker for about 6 months on/off and hoping to continue to learn and perfect my game while moving up the stakes. Been posting on the micro NL forum for a while and now wanting a more focused effort on my poker game. Have plently of time to study + grind over the summer and hope to move closer towards 16NL within the next few months.

Currently running about 10BB/100 over 40k hands at 5NL, I feel my game has a pretty solid base with good reasoning for most decisions and hope to move up the stakes asap. My ambition with my game is to approach a balanced strat and adapt to exploit as much as possible.

My Goals
My long term goals are moving up the stakes while building my BR, hopefully getting to 16NL in the next few months. I'll do this by:
1) Spending 1 hour min a day studying poker.
2) Marking + posting hands on forums
3) Find a study group with a mix of better + worse players
4) Grind about 1k hands on average a day

I'll hopefully be updating this post every few days with what I'm studying, how my grind is going and a couple HHs. Trying to not make this into a sh**** PG&C and dies after a couple weeks, but I'm sure thousands have said this before lmao.

Worked on my PF ranges today using USP ranges and tightening a little bc of micro rake + not good enough post flop, and defending to 3Bs. Here's my BU open/defend 3B range:

I've just made a 3B range that a need to min-defend each position, but have ignored what position is 3Bing me. If anyone can give any feedback on the range and how I should adapt for example from MP, if the 3Bettor is BU/SB/BB?

Tomorrow I'll work on my 3B/5B ranges, for each position and cold calling the next day. I'm also wondering how my 3B range vs MP should change say as my position gets closer to BB (less chance of CC/4B).

Hands Played: 1244
BB/100: 19.02

Most interesting hands:

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has K J

fold, fold, CO raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (6.4 BB, 2 players) K 6 4
Hero checks, CO bets 4.6 BB, Hero calls 4.6 BB

Turn: (15.6 BB, 2 players) J
Hero checks, CO bets 11.4 BB, Hero calls 11.4 BB

River: (38.4 BB, 2 players) 6
Hero checks, CO bets 28 BB, Hero calls 28 BB

Not sure if I should be bluff catching in this spot or not, good blockers but not sure player pool is bluffing enough.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 9 9

fold, fold, CO raises to 3 BB, BTN calls 3 BB, Hero raises to 13 BB, fold, fold, BTN calls 10 BB

Flop: (30 BB, 2 players) 3 J 7
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: (30 BB, 2 players) 2
Hero bets 14 BB, BTN calls 14 BB

River: (58 BB, 2 players) 9
Hero bets 16 BB, BTN raises to 73 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 57 BB

Spoiler:
Hero shows 9 9 (Three of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 81%, Flop 90%, Turn 95%)
BTN mucks 6 6 (One Pair, Sixes)
(Pre 19%, Flop 10%, Turn 5%)
Hero wins 193.8 BB

Bet too little OTR probs 1/2p better, thoughts were villain has a really weak range so need to try squeeze out any value.

lmao at these stats (RFI in order of position, opens 89% from BU )

Pretty rough couple of days, laptop kept on freezing after a couple minutes of use and found out the hard drive has failed so going to go buy another laptop in the next few days. In the mean time I've been using my brothers desktop when I can to work a little bit but haven't been able to do as much as I've wanted.
I started creating my 3B/5B ranges but ran into a bit of difficulty with defending enough combos with a narrow range.

Hands Played: 2130
BB/100: 21.79

Tomorrow, I'll finish my 3B/5B ranges. Next I'll do my cold calling ranges and blind defence vs each position.
Interesting Hands
Had quite a lot of coolers going both ways, but they're just boring imo.

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 6 A

fold, fold, CO raises to 3 BB, fold, Hero raises to 10 BB, BB calls 9 BB, fold

Flop: (23 BB, 2 players) K 5 K
Hero bets 12 BB, BB calls 12 BB

Turn: (47 BB, 2 players) 6
Hero checks, BB checks

River: (47 BB, 2 players) 3
Hero bets 363.4 BB and is all-in, BB calls 34.8 BB and is all-in
Spoiler:

Hero shows 6 A (Flush, Ace High)
(Pre 32%, Flop 40%, Turn 30%)
BB mucks Q Q (Two Pair, Kings and Queens)
(Pre 68%, Flop 60%, Turn 70%)
Hero wins 328.6 BB
Hero wins 110.8 BB

Pretty standard I think.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has T 8

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 2 BB, fold, BB calls 1 BB

Flop: (4.4 BB, 2 players) Q T 8
BB checks, Hero bets 3.2 BB, BB calls 3.2 BB

Turn: (10.8 BB, 2 players) 7
BB checks, Hero bets 8 BB, BB calls 8 BB

River: (26.8 BB, 2 players) 3
BB checks, Hero bets 12 BB, BB raises to 61.2 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 49.2 BB

Spoiler:
Hero shows T 8 (Two Pair, Tens and Eights)
(Pre 42%, Flop 91%, Turn 82%)
BB shows 2 K (Flush, King High)
(Pre 58%, Flop 9%, Turn 18%)
BB wins 141.8 BB

Play is standard til river, decided to hero call as villain raises a lot of their value on earlier streets so is really only repping a flush here which they may overbluff with bluffs. Not sure my hand is the greatest to call though with no blockers and think villains tend to underbluff in these spots at micros, so in hindsight I would rather see a fold.

MP shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Threes)
(Pre 83%, Flop 91%, Turn 91%)
MP wins 96.6 BB

Argument here for fold pre, as I said haven't done work on my preflop ranges yet to come to a conclusion. Think post is good though. edit: cba to find out river stack sizes but shove is likely better

@JeCa Thanks man

Been a great couple of days, still playing when I can on my brothers computer. Played some 5NL, completed some 'missions' to get some bonuses (very +EV) and started taking shots at 10NL.
Also been playing some freerolls, went from a free $2.20 satellite ticket to $8.80 to $44 and now I am playing a real $215 tourny and I'm actually bricking it. Starts at 7 tonight, hoping for a min-cash would be incredible for my bankroll. Completed missions on party poker which gives me some deposit bonuses, $25 cash and I also won a SitnGo for $40 which was sweet.

Hands Played: 691
BB/100: 0.51

Obviously very early days at 10NL, currently got 24BI so just will continue shot taking and see how it goes.
Studying wise I have finished both my 3B/5B ranges and also my flatting ranges, so many graphs Will take a while to memorise these and will be adjusting these when I see more suggestions. Next will be working on my BB defence.

Interesting Hands

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J J

fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, CO raises to 10.5 BB, BTN calls 10.5 BB, SB calls 10 BB, fold, Hero calls 7.5 BB

Flop: (43 BB, 4 players) 5 J 3
SB checks, Hero checks, CO bets 20.4 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 20.4 BB

Turn: (83.8 BB, 2 players) 3
Hero checks, CO bets 69.1 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 69.1 BB

River: (222 BB, 2 players) 5

Spoiler:
Hero shows J J (Full House, Jacks full of Fives)
(Pre 70%, Flop 95%, Turn 100%)
CO mucks A J (Two Pair, Jacks and Fives)
(Pre 30%, Flop 5%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 212 BB

Argument for 4B pre and think it may be the better play here. Surprised to see AJ here though.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q Q

fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, CO calls 3 BB, fold, SB calls 2.5 BB, fold

Flop: (10 BB, 3 players) 9 3 9
SB checks, Hero bets 5.2 BB, CO calls 5.2 BB, fold

Turn: (20.4 BB, 2 players) J
Hero checks, CO bets 9.7 BB, Hero calls 9.7 BB

River: (39.8 BB, 2 players) 6
Hero checks, CO checks

Spoiler:
Hero shows Q Q (Two Pair, Queens and Nines)
(Pre 82%, Flop 92%, Turn 95%)
CO mucks T T (Two Pair, Tens and Nines)
(Pre 18%, Flop 8%, Turn 5%)
Hero wins 37.9 BB

Not sure how I should have played this hand, whether we should go for 2/3 streets on a paired board or not as villain has very few Jx in their range. I do prefer b/b/x though to b/x/b.
