My Microstakes Challenge on ACR and Ignition My Microstakes Challenge on ACR and Ignition

This is going to be my new thread from the early microstakes challenge on ACR I started that began on February 1st. I decided to add my journey through Ignition as well and combine it into one thread. (This will also be a way for people to quantify the difference as I plan on putting in decent volume on both sites.)

I will focus on volume and analysis throughout this challenge and the volume breakdown will be as follows:

ACR
2NL: 25K
5NL: 50K
10NL: 100K
25NL: 250K

Ignition
5NL: 25K
10NL: 75K
25NL: 250K

I'll post graphs every 5K hands. I'll also include hand histories with my analysis and hopefully get some feedback. I'm going to aim for quality over quantity with these so expect maybe 1-2 per 5K hands or so.

Originally, I planned on playing only 3-4 tables at a time, but as I started the challenge I began to play 6-8 tables in an attempt to get more hands in as fast as possible. This definitely backfired as I got crushed on ACR when 8-tabling but I felt that it was largely due to how tough the games are and my ability.

My ACR 5K graph should be up in the next couple of days and am currently getting slaughtered so there's a lot of mistakes I have to correct. Also, from playing on both sites my early indication is that Ignition is ridiculously softer. I'll probably elaborate more on this throughout the thread.

First 5K Hands... Crazy swings. Honest assessment is that the game is decently tough. Depending on what time I was playing, at some point it's me and 4-5 relatively competent players with a fish coming to sit in eventually. (By relatively competent I mean players that are playing VPIP, PFR, 3bet, and AF stats within the range for solid players.)

ACR 2NL 10K Hands

Up and down road to 10K. Looks like I might have to put in more hands than 25K. I might bump it to 50K depending on how it's going for me. The 2NL on ACR is substantially more difficult than Ignition 5NL, but I also have to play better.

I'm going to share my display in this post as well as my opinion on the amount of tables I should be playing. You can see on the ACR tables that there are definitely some competent players. On some tables there are few weak spots and you just have to battle it out with the regs. The margins are pretty small and you're literally battling it out for every penny. Lol. With that being said I definitely believe it's beatable even with the rake and it's possible to move up the stakes. As far as the number of tables I'm going to be playing less is definitely better but I decided to aim between 6-10. I've gone back and forth with this issue but I'm going to do more just to get as much volume in as I can. My rationale is that I can beat these games 8-tabling and it'll make me get through this challenge quicker.

Ignition 5NL 15K Hands

Everything's going smooth for now. Should be at 10NL soon unless I hit a massive downswing.

ACR 2NL 20K Hands

It's been pretty rough for me on ACR, and I'm finding it significantly harder than Ignition. I'm also beginning to get frustrated with my inability to beat the game at a solid win rate. This frustration has led me to tilting a little bit but nothing that I can't manage.

I'm also wondering whether or not anyone has a recent graph at the micros on ACR that shows a good win rate over a decent sample. It seems extremely tough to overcome the rake. I still believe it's possible, but I'm going to have to put in a lot more work to be able to make it to 25NL. Because of my inability to beat 2NL, I'm going to have to adjust my volume goals for this challenge. As of right row I'm going to finish playing 2NL until I hit 25K hands then take a step back and work on my game. Then I'll try again to play another 25K hands and see how it goes. I'm also going to stop playing 8-12 tables the second time around and stick to no more than 6. Because Ignition is so much softer, my new default set up with probably be 4 Ignition and 2 ACR.

Yeah man, just look at my thread, last month on my ACR I played 45k hands at 2nl/5nl and beat the games at 32bb/ and 18bb/100. After losing my roll at blackjack and starting over I've beat the games at 39bb/ and 25bb/100. Close to 60k hands total, it's not enough to know the true winrate but it is enough to see that I'm a winner.

The games are definitely beatable, I'm always down to talk hands/strat if you have any questions brotha.

Looks like I will be going back to 2 NL. I degened my bankroll playing high stake MTTs and $69 Jackpots lol.

Only saving grace is that I'm not too worried about the 2 NL 6 max player pool. (Spoiler includes a small sample of about 17k hands at 18.76 BB/100)

Spoiler:

2 NL on ACR/WPN is easy game compared to 25 NL and 50 NL. I've played a lot of 25 NL/50 NL before I degened off my roll and it's a whole different ball game. Literally all the tables are full of rakeback grinders and a few waiting on the waiting list. You literally have to cooler them with nuts over 2nd nuts to get them to pay off their stack.

Yeah I've been on your thread and you have a solid win rate at these stakes. For some reason I can't get any traction going and I'm letting my frustration get to me. Hopefully, I can turn it around. \

I'm down as well. I'll probably start posting some HHs soon.

That's a solid graph man. Yeah, I'd expect 25NL and 50NL to be decently tough. I don't want to look that far ahead even. Just want to be able to crush 2NL and get a good win rate over a decent sample. Then start moving up.

Do you play zoom on Ignition? How do you find the regs/recs action on the normal tables? I'd expect a bigger majority of recs in zoom.

That ACR graph is a grind!
