Thank you and keep up the good work

Spoiler:
Best thread ever imo even for Jman well
Take 2BI shots from 20BI imo.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

I was at PCA which was really fun. Didn't even play the main event because I was drunk and having fun most of the time. Might go next year again.

I'm not a math wizard and no way it's necessary to be one to beat poker. (At least in current games.)

Yeah obv there isn't one. If I'd get a job I'd earn like 1-2% from what I earn now. But that's not the point. There will be a time when I just don't think it's worth it anymore dealing with the huge swings and being inside watching computer screen all the time.

sick thread, nice work ethic and motivation, mad props !

have you always used strict 100 buy-ins for moving up or did you still take shots when there were good games ? and what was your minimum for doing so / how fast did you move back down

I finally found out Giev's SN and saw him play on Stars.

Spoiler:
Nice SN

Anyway I railed one hand of him which I was curious about:

Giev: $10,000 (100 bb)
BTN: $4,830 (48.3 bb)
SB: $10,050 (100.5 bb)
BB: $15,935 (159.4 bb)
UTG: $12,305 (123.1 bb)
MP: $30,105 (301.1 bb)

Preflop:
2 folds, Hero raises to $300, 2 folds, BB calls $200

Flop: ($650) 5 8 7 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $475, BB raises to $1,450, Hero calls $975

Turn: ($3,550) 6 (2 players)
BB bets $2,150, Hero calls $2,150

River: ($7,850) T (2 players)
BB bets $12,035 and is all-in, Hero folds

[/hand_history]

Get the Flash Player to use the Hold'em Manager Replayer.
[/converted_hand]

I was wondering (and if Giev doesnt want to answer maybe someone else will) what the thought process is during this hand.

The BB had c/r you before on a low coordinated board 345r I believe when you folded so his raising range was still pretty wide. The turn is very interesting he probably has 9T/99/9J in his range and maybe 89 since is c/r so much and this could be a nice play for some thin value. Think you def call his raise with worse.

You tanked on the river and folded and I was wondering:

1) what is BB doing this for value with (apart from the obv 9). Like sets? 2 pairs?

2) what is his bluffing range here. Dont think he raises 66/76 maybe 75 although it might have enough SD value. 44/34/A5 maybe...

3) you are probably not going to tell but what did you have?

4) any other comments you have?

Thanks and GL

Since I went pro I've used 100buyins and yeah I did take shots but as long as I had 100buyins for my 'main stake' it was ok.

1) Not sure what he would do with 2p/set at the river

2) 44 and 34 both have straight so it would be for value. A5/TJ/QT/KT/JQ maybe.

3) Not gonna tell.

4) Tough spot. Still not sure if I should call or fold.

PCA sounds fun.

Hey giev, i was railing today and I thought this hand you played was pretty interesting, could you elaborate on it a bit more? (what u think his range is and was it a blocking bet, induce, your range or holding maybe?..) Just a few words if you dont mind, was pretty surprised he folded, regs at my stakes dont fold to this kind of bet hehe.. Btw, monthly graphs would be awesome.

It was either for a thin value or to induce (can't really have any bluffs in my range) and the villain knows it. I also know that the villain reads this so won't tell what I had or talk about his range.
