Cheeky bit of heat last night



Finally got my first cash of the SCOOP series out the way, may have bricked Ante Up high but found 42nd in the $82 M for about $450. Really fun mtt, so many regs struggling to adjust forgetting they are getting 1,000,000:1 on a call pre and unable to recognise their true stack size.

Managed to cover costs for SCOOP however as I took the lions share of a deal in the Big $162 for a little over $16k. Ran really well (had 12k at bb 40) and feel I played pretty well, also managed to get the outright win for those pocketfives points.

Got some study to do before the Thursday Thrill which I'm really excited about playing, hopefully continue the heater!

Since Wednesday evening I have somewhat fallen off the cliff, not really running too great in the high stuff as well as not winning crucial flips (it's been a long time coming and obv 5 days is a tiny scale, can go on for much longer).

Really hoping I haven't knocked in all the money I won from the Big $162 by the end of SCOOP, although it is nice to be essentially freerolling the rest of the series.

Super Tuesday tonight which should be exciting and hopefully gather some momentum in it. Reviewing for a couple of hours today before getting into the session for my mind to be that little more focussed during what is hopefully a late one tonight.

That being said some decent news from yesterday.

Currently doing my balls in the SCOOP's but found a HU chop in the Big $109 for $25k. Think it may have been the best I've played, put a lot of focus on dynamics and my own image to pick the perfect spots, felt really proud about my performance and can now feel more content with the fact I will be coming out of SCOOP in profit.

Moved up to 145th in Pocketfives rankings which is an all time high, something else I'm pretty proud about, with the next aim being top #100. Playing the $215 today then the Thrill again tomorrow

So Sunday saw the end of SCOOP and in the series itself I got next to nothing going despite flicking in a number of 1k's, it went pretty badly but as weird as it sounds I definitely enjoyed the challenge with yesterday pre grind spending my time feeling like a child on christmas eve, just unfortunately Santa decided to give me a neatly wrapped ****. Felt like I played to the best of my ability so realistically I'm pretty happy with the day.

Saying that the time during SCOOP has been very profitable having chopped both the Big 109 and Big 162 within a week of one another, and obviously the prizepools were much bigger than usual so that somewhat made up for it.

The ending of SCOOP has come at an ideal time, with my birthday on Wednesday and my girlfriends birthday on Thursday. Going to grind today before having a week or so off (although doubt I will fade Sunday's antics). Will post the review of the month in a weeks time.

I do and I don't, with this new stable coming I'm yet to judge how much of my time that will take up. I'm still on sure on my hourly and what I should be offering at an hourly rate, although $50/hr seems to be in the right ballpark

Standard price is n*hourly IMO, with n being a variable primarily dependent on the size of the player pool.

how exactly would you determine the n? at what figure do you start?

It's an estimate depending on how you feel the player pool in your games will be affected as a result of you coaching, and thus how much you personally will lose out. FWIW based on cash games I'd say that n is roughly 1.2 at 100NL and probably something in the 8-10 region at nosebleeds, but I'm not sure how this transfers to MTTs. It's just an educated guess at opportunity cost really.

Of course, you could just take a demand-based approach, start at whatever and adjust based on how many students you get.
