Ran really hot today. Most of my profit came from 2 hands. All in 3 way pre flop with KK vs AA and QQ, obv can't blame any of us for getting it in pre. I spike a K on the turn to win the 310 dollar pot. After how bad I ran 2 weeks ago, I'll take it. I won another 50 bucks with 55 against a solid player. I'm the button with 55, CO raise, I call, blinds fold. flop is KK2 with 2 hearts. CO bets out, I call. Turn, I spike the 5. He check calls my bet on turn. River is a blank 6, CO checks, I bet out 30 and he calls and shows 10 10. The server has been acting slow lately. Anyone else experiencing slow reaction from the server for rebuying/topping off and action on the table?

Yeah I'm having issues too. Last night around 8PM it crashed as I had 4 tables going. Cost me $5 for sure...

California hasn't had any issues as far as I know. I haven't deposited in over 2 years so take it with a grain of salt.

Yea, I was going to play a session, but I didn't want to risk it freezing/disconnecting on me, so I decided not to play a night session.

Finally was able to play a session since the server was stable. Played for about a little over 2 hrs. I got a buy in by coolering someone with AA vs QQ. Other than that, nothing too eventful.

Another 2+ hr session. I forgot the key hands that helped me win this amount, there were too many or maybe the fact I was watching the Ducks-Kings game xP. I don't remember going all in for stacks very often, the only time that I did it was flip with AK vs 10 10 against a 35bb stack. Just won numerous amount of 40-60 bb pots with premiums. I did get coolered when I had KJ and my villain had KQ on a K K 10 board. Luckily, villain didn't raise the flop, otherwise I would've probably stacked villain based on how he was playing at the time like 36/10 over 40+ hands.

Anyways, I'd like to discuss a preflop theory of mine. I folded AQ off suit on the BTN against a UTG raiser from a 12/11 player after 60 hands. I feel like 3 betting here is probably the better option, but at the same time I hate calling here, I just think I'll be dominated often and I whiff on a lot flops can't continue. Also I won't be getting a lot of value very often from this type of player. I constantly fold KQo and ATo often against tight ABC players and definitely when it's multi-way and I'm OOP. I feel that these type of hands will lead me to a lot of tough decisions and won't flop hard very often. I don't think playing these hands to "balance my range" is necessary in this anonymous environment either. However, if there is a gigantic whale that's a huge calling station or overplays top pair weak kicker type hands, then I will probably call, but I'm still very leery of playing these hands OOP. I prefer to play pocket pairs, as if I flop a set, I know I"ll get value from weak and even solid players with top pair and/or draws. However, at the same time I fold 22-55 often against tight ABC players that raise UTG without any other players involved. What do you guys thnk? Am I missing value by playing too conservatively?

Depends, those folds are correct unless there are some fishy players behind you. That said, I've never encountered anyone in any position on Bovada that I'd fold AQ against (to a single bet).

Yea, it's too nitty. AQ whiffs a lot of flops though.

I remembered a key hand I played last night. I had AQ UTG and the flop was Qs58 with two hearts, vs a villain who had 100/50 after 2 hands and called from the blinds. I cbet and villain called. Turn was a 7s, so there's two flush draws out there, I bet again, and villain c/r me a little over min raise. I thought about it and called. River was a blank 2 and villain jams and I call and villain showed AK off....so that's how I won my first buy in last night.

Villain had 100bb? Just curious on your thoughts on villain Range or it's this a standard spot

Yea, Villain had a full stack. On the turn, I was thinking villain had a super combo draw with something like 56s or 76s from the sizing and possible range that the villain can have. Once the river was a blank I had to call the shove and stick with my read. Obviously AK was not expected.

Another 2.5 hr session, another solid win. Even though it's a giant pain, table selection is so important to your win rate. Why stick around and not get as much action for your premiums with a table full of regs/nits when you can get action and calls with the fishes? I'm not the best player and I'm pretty sure I have leaks and possibly missing out on thin +EV spots, but it's so worth the hassle of table selecting and jumping around tables.

For example, I had AA UTG and raise 3x. Folds around to the SB who min 3 bets me. BB folds, I min 4 bet him and Villain calls. Flop is K high with 2 diamonds something like K 9 4 dd. SB checks, I cbet half of villain's stack, villain jams and I obviously call. Care to guess what villain had?

Also would like to discuss this hand. Villain was 27/9 after 20 ish hands, but tried to steal at only opportunity. This was a hand I played two days ago.

    Flop: ($21.50) J Q 8 (2 players)
    Hero checks, UTGplus1 checks

I'm not sure why I didn't cbet this flop as it's pretty wet. I thought this hit villain's range pretty hard and if I get raised I'm either barely ahead or well behind. Having thought about it, I should've cbet this board.

    Turn: ($21.50) 5 (2 players)
    Hero bets $12.75, UTGplus1 calls $12.75

I now bet as I felt safer and can get value from draws and even a Jack.

    River: ($47) 9 (2 players)
    Hero checks, UTGplus1 bets $34, Hero ??

Obviously not a great card. What would you do here? Villain's range is very polarized here as I don't think villain will bet out with something like 2 pair as villain has showdown value and could possibly value own themself.

I started off the session slow, 3 betting into people's nutted hands. I was down 150 at one point and almost ended my session early but, I battled back, tightened up, and got action with premiums. Coolered someone with AA vs QQ, but other than that, played my usual brand of ABC solid poker. However I had a really fishy table that was stacking off with top pair type hands so I decided to play some hands that can flop well multiway. A huge pot that I won involved A5ss. I raised UTG 3x, and I got 2 callers. The flop was Jx7s4s with 2 spades. BB, my target, checked to me, I cbet 4.75bbs, the other caller folded, and BB check raised me to 13.50. I thought about for a second as I rep a very strong range, but I doubt the fish cares about ranges in regards to position. So I raised to 34 and bb called. Turn was the 3 of spades, and bb checked to me. I jammed for 87, and bb called with JsTc, so villain was drawing dead. Won a 250 dollar pot. Obviously a5 suited utg is usually a -ev play, but against loose tables I felt I can play it really profitably.

It's amazing how even regs play poorly at this level. A common observation is that they keep semi bluffing against calling stations. For instance a reg type player will have AT-AK or two overs and the board is 9 7 3 dd, something like that. They will triple barrel OOP in that spot without a diamond, where I usually will probably check fold. I don't usually bluff on that type of board without blockers, but even then against super calling stations I don't cbet without a good piece. Sometimes, you gotta let those type of hands go and pick a better spot. Fishes LOVE playing basically any 2 suited cards and some call multiple streets with middle and top pair, so I don't even try bluffing them off a hand. To play well, you have to adjust to the table.

Played for a little over 2 hrs. I was down early 150 due to a guy set mining on a 3 bet pot. Didn't have any read on BTN after 4 hands was 25/0. Folded to btn, effective 100bbs. Min raised BTN, I have AK off on the BB folds to me and I 3 bet to 8x, BTN calls. Flop comes K 10 5 hh. I cbet, BTN 2.8x raises me, I obv jam, and he shows up with 55. Don't think I can fold TPTK on a 3bet pot post flop, but I think I'm beat here often. I think I should fold against full stack players in this spot and call against short stackers, as short stackers are more unpredictable in terms of getting it in post flop in a 3 bet pot, while full stackers are more cautious. Another interesting hand, saw me with At off UTG+1 with 100 bb eff. I raise 3.5x, UTG+1 folds, crazy aggro player that was 3 betting often does so from the CO to 11x. Villain was 3 betting 40% after 15 or something along those lines. Folds to me and I'm confident I crush villain's range and I 4 bet to 28, 3better calls. flop is 976 rainbow. So I have a gutter and two overs, I cbet to 30 and villain calls. Turn paired the 6 and I jamed for 42 and villain folded lol. That'll help the ol' red line.

I also butchered a hand. I could've most likely gotten 3 streets of value with 99. I had both villains covered. I raise UTG 3.5x with 99. Folds to dealer, a fishy calling station with 66 bbs playing 62/3 after 50 hands calls. BB who was new and have no reads with 110 bbs calls. Flop is 2 5c 8c. BB checks, C bet half pot 5, and both players call. Turn paired the 5. I bet again 12.5x and again both players call. River is a 3s. BB checks, I for some stupid reason check too. Fishy Button bets out 3 dollars, BB calls, I should've raised here, but didn't and called. BB had AKcc and dealer had q8 off. I could've gotten another street of value. Not sure why I didn't triple barrel, I think I was scared of the bb and value owning myself, and I keep worrying about river raises when I should definitely go for value more and not worry about what ifs.

Again I keep seeing solid players playing ******ed against 60/3 calling stations. Another huge leak is when the calling stations limp, the regs isolate with weaker holdings such as off suit gappers and ace rag. It just blows my mind. Then when they whiff the flop they cbet when the calling station folds about 40% of the time to cbets. It's pretty funny actually.

Great session, had some good tables and got 3 full streets of value with top pairish type of hands against calling stations. About a 2 hr session. Started off strong but variance kicked my ass. Had a stretch of 32 hands at a table where I didn't play a single hand. Lost with QQ vs JJ AI post flop and villain hit runner runner for 180 bb pot. Other than that the idiots ran good vs me but I guess I was due with all the run good I've had recently.

Hey, nice goals. Would you be interested in doing HH reviews/sweat sessions?

I play on Bovada and have a 1200 roll atm, playing 25nl til the end of the month then taking shots at 50nl.

I plan on starting to use my points on just $10 + $1 tournament tickets FWIW.
    11-24-2014 , 01:32 AM
Usually when I'm online at home I'm playing poker so I don't really have the time to do sweats, but if you post HH's here I'll give you my thoughts and we can go over it together.
