Good luck! I just put some money on Bovada a couple weeks ago so I'll definitely be following to see how you do and how the games are.

The games are good, though lately I've been running into a few regs and fish-regs.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Hey guys, played a 2 hour session tonight. I was first down by 3 buy ins just stupid crap, like a guy calling my AIPF with KJ suited when I 4 bet shove him with a5o because I knew villain wasn't that strong. Of course I shouldn't 5 bet shoving with a5 off but I had a very solid read on him that villain was full of crap and I was partially right. However, I then got lucky when I got ATo vs AKo AIPF vs a lag tard and won with a straight. Then I buckled down and started playing solid poker. Won a BI and a half. I need to keep playing solid poker and quit trying to outplay everyone and getting into "reg" wars.

Goodluck bro.

I use to be a Bovada reg built my roll up from 25NL then moved up to 50NL and 100NL. I miss the good old days man. Thinking of rejoining bovada again. The whole Black Friday thing realyl turned me away from poker but I've kept on my game still. Haven't been back to the site in a while..... how does it play right now? Decent amount of traffic?

Good luck just remember build that roll up steadily.

It's the largest US-facing site, whatever that's worth.

I got owned today by the 60/10 lagtards. 34>>>AQ flopped 2 pair, 58 ss >>>>AA, ran TT into AA, 97ss>>>>TT on a 3bet pot. Just brutal. I hate it when these idiots run good against me. Why can't they run good against other lagtards? Probably gonna take some time off and grind up the roll through other means via sngs or PLO. I really need to work on my post flop game.

So, I adjusted my game and have been playing a lot tighter, conservative post flop against these laggards. Up a little under 2 buy ins since the disaster.

Ughh, another terrible day at 25 NL. Lagtards flopping sets when I flop 2 pair and the ilk. I played sngs and did pretty well and gained some of my losses back. Lost a buy in. I think I'll stick with sngs until I get to like 650 and then give cash a try again.

Hey what Sit N go's are you playing?

I tried playing 3 tournaments recently, busted in the 1st or 2nd hour.

Tried playing 3 10NL games, broke even in 2 and busted in 1.

I've been having better luck betting on sports!

Still I am enjoying the site so far. Its fun.

Hey dude cool to see that you are on Bovada grinding away too. Some of the beats I've been taking on these sng's are just f-ing ridiculous. Either the people are beyond horrific on there or bots are playing. I mean you raise big with QQ and get beat by trips when the guy calls your raise with 32. Or today I go AI PF with AKs when the blinds are high and have a guy tank forever before calling me with 74 only to spike a 7 on the river. I mean I expect for bad players to call with marginal hands, but calling with some of the worst hands you can start with is mind blowing.
I will say that when I take a few of these beats it can sometimes tilt me to the point of throwing my game off and in turn make me play like ****. When this happens I just quit for a while to stop the bleeding.
I miss stars so bad!!! lol Anyway, good luck on Bovada...with the increased traffic I def think its the best thing goin here in the U.S.

Wow, I bring out lurkers lol. Epic first post bro. I wouldn't say it's rigged, but awfully fishy. For instance, last night I had AQ off on the CO iso raising a weak limper. SB calls. flop is 328r, I obv check behind. Turn is another blank, Villain bets like 1/5 pot, I call. River is another blank, Villain fires about same amount, I call with Ace high, and he shows 32 suited...It was that kind of night last night.

Just doing a quick hand analysis. I don't think this is a check back at all.

I think AQ would be a cbet on this flop for value! if villain has 32s here, then his range will include hands like A4, A5, 45,56,75,76, 97, QJ, QT, T9, KJ, etc, which AQ beats. The point of betting is to make villain fold his equity share on the flop. A hand like JT has ~25% equity vs your AQ on this flop and if you bet and he folds, awesome! 25% equity is very significant vs your hand.

Plus, this board is so hard for villain to hit, he'll just easily check/fold with his T7s or whatever garbage he has.

Also, if villain has 87 or 86, you still have 25% equity vs his hand plus many many many over cards will hit the turn that you may use to barrel.

A good hand analysis, though I have holdem indicator and SB was a 40/12 ish type player after about 40 hands. So I thought villain might be fishy but not a whale. So a good portion of my range misses the flop, while hitting a good portion of villains. I don't think villain would fold this type of flop a majority of the time even if he didn't hit. If I did cbet, I would fold out hands I would beat and hands I do beat won't fold.

A fish will never look at your "range." Fishes do not have a good concept of range. I wouldn't worry about what your range looks like to him.

I don't get your argument, you said villain rarely folds on this flop but then will fold hands that you beat and continue with hands that beat you?

I disagree with that comment. Depending on the type of fish he is, he is either a calling station of fit or fold. Either type of opponent, I'm still betting this for VALUE on this flop. Again, villain will call with his gut shots (56, A4, A5) and over cards (QJ, KT, JT, KQ, AJ) that AQ beats. This is a thin value bet but a value bet none the less.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

While I don't think poker can be nailed down to an exact science, I tend to agree with Alpha's analysis. It's a cbet for me the majority of the time in that spot, unless you have a really good read on the villain, or you deem the board texture atrocious for AQ.

I think for the most part putting your opponent on a range of hands is essential, but on Bovada the poker IQ of the majority of the low and micro stakes players seems to border full retard, making deciphering a range very challenging.

I'm not saying it's rigged. I played quite a bit live in Vegas this summer and got to see some of the same stuff happens at the tables. One hand live that just crushed me was hitting top set with AA, getting it all in against 44 who also hit a set, and then watching him turn quads lol. Yeah, that hurt my feelings pretty bad. With Bovada though, it just seems to happen so much more frequent. I've heard the argument that you see more hands, but sometimes the way hands play out make it hard to swallow.

That's a good point you two, I tend to overestimate my opponents' abilities on Bovada.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Hello all, I dropped down to 10NL over the weekend due to me running poorly on 25 NL. My roll is back around the 545 mark. I will attempt to play 25 NL again tomorrow. My sister's father-in-law, had stomach surgery yesterday, so I visited him at the hospital so I couldn't play today.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Played 25 NL and did pretty well. Session didn't start out too hot as the droolers ran well against me post flop. But as I played more hands, the flops got better and was able to value town them. However, I lost with aces AIPF vs QK dd, flopped a flush. In a different table, there was a total drooler to my right, 60+ VPIP, 6% PFR. Villain was running hot as he had about 2.5x initial buy in at about 60 dollars. I whittled villain's stack to the point where I got stacked by villain on a limped pot when I flopped a boat and villain called off with top pair. Won around 40 bucks off that villain alone. Overall last night, I was up 2.5 buy ins.

Dude you played that hand terrible. You don't beat his small bet range. If he was bluffing he would be bombing his sizing is exactly what he has, a small pair and he is block betting to get called by A high.

Hello Stuntman. I am subbing your blog.

I also play on Bovada, since the beginning of November 2013. Deposited $50 and never looked back lol. Now as of this moment am up to over $1500. Most of that money I won playing tournaments and sngs, and about 40% cash games. I run good obviously. 10nl went well for me but I got killed at 25nl. Then I binked some tourneys and ran well in sng's so I jumped up and took a shot at 50nl w/ about 15 buyins. Ran well there and now taking shots at 100nl. I am taking an aggressive approach to bankroll management.

I saw where you said that you have Holdem Indicator. Do you know of any way to get it for cheap or free? I can't see paying $108 for it. I do have bovada hand history convertor and hm2 though.

Hey pm me on here and maybe we can sweat each other sometime.

If you go to the site for holdem indicator, there's way to get it for free by signing up on another website and playing like 400 raked hands. I did mine on betonline. The software was crap, but I deposited 50 bucks and played 400 hands. Congrats on the binkage of mtts.
