Ran really well. 3 way allin with AKss vs KK short stack and 99, ace on flop sealed the deal. K8 on BTN vs AJ SB. 88A flop, got 3 streets of value. It's been a long time since I ran that well.

Played a little over an hour. Got some premiums but couldn't get full value due to bad board runouts to calling stations ie. flush possible, 4 to a straight etc.

Good to see you back above the 4000 mark. Any thoughts on moving up to 200NL or have you already been playing at that level?

I haven't thought about moving up yet. I'm trying to get to 4500 or so before I do. Unfortunately, I've been feeling pretty tired lately, and my mom had a fainting spell at work yesterday, so I've been taking care of her. Hopefully I can get some volume in tomorrow. May play some Full ring/live in preparation for my Vegas trip for super bowl weekend.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Take care bro.

Same thing with my grandmom. Turns out, she was severely dehydrated.

Your mom may need more water AND salt. Low sodium or inadequate water intake can cause this. Discuss it with her doc.

Yea, she's a lot better now after a weekend of rest. She's going to have a blood test tomorrow and she had a CAT scan already. She was looking very pale on Friday.

In other news. Didn't play tonight as my car is dying on me. The check engine light is on and I had it checked out. The mass air flow sensor needs to be replaced, but it might also be the CRE board or something or other needs to be replaced too. I've had nothing but issues/repairs since i've had this car and just might buy a newer car. So I spent all night researching cars around my area. Now I'll be super motivated to play since I have to pay for a car now lol.

Also, does anyone know anything about hybrid cars? Do they need something extra or special? How do you fuel up, I thought it was battery operated or something. Thinking about buying a hybrid due to their superior gas mileage.

They're hybrids, so as the name suggests, part fuel, part battery. You just fill it with gas, that's it. Good choice, I avoided getting one earlier this year, I love my car, but I think it was a mistake.

They are just less fuel.

Aside from the environmental standpoint, they are not worth it unless you drive a lot. If you drive a lot you will pay for the upcharge of getting a hybrid in a few years.

Now, electric, means they run on battery solely for usually like 50+ miles and have a small gas tank which is activated when the charge is out. So unless you are traveling long distances you would use only electricity.

For the money, reliability and luxury, you can't beat a certified pre-owned hyundai sonata. Get one that is like 2-3 years old with a few miles on it that comes with a warranty from the hyundai dealership.

There's quite a few used hybrids for under 9k that I'm thinking about. They're from 2006-2007. As for my current car, I got a very crappy trade in value offer using a website's auto trade in value survey.

Those sound good, just be sure you have a trusted mechanic inspect the entire thing thoroughly before you buy. I bought a 8 year old used american car and it has been an absolute nightmare. Never again.

Ughh shopping for used cars is depressing. I find some solid ones, only to find out the dealers aren't very highly rated on yelp. I'm thinking just repairing my car and hope that it lasts another year and a half before I have to buy another car. And the cars I do find in my price range is high mileage over 125k miles of a solid car or a poorly rated car with decent mileage. Hard to find that perfect combo.

Anyways didn't play tonight again due to car research/shopping.

I would buy a month Consumer Reports membership so that you can look at the reliability ratings of the used cars you are looking at. Toyota Corolla's are probably in general the world's most reliable cars. I was in search of a good used car a few months ago, did see that I think 2006 Hyundai Sonata's are reliable. Worth the 6 bucks anyway imo--check it out for yourself.

That's what I usually use. Seems solid.

Personally, I'd probably grab a Mazda 3, Mazda 6, Ford Fusion (This is what I have), probably not the old focus (lots of trans issues), you might be able to find a chevy sonic in that range. Pontiac G6 or G5, though I'm not sure about their reliability. A cheap hybrid sounds pretty bomb though, if you did some research and found out of the battery would be fine. I hear they have issues around 100k miles, but I'm not certain and you should look into that stuff.

Thought about getting a Mazda, they're pretty solid and look pretty sleek. My main concern is gas mileage and reliability.

Can't go wrong with a miata. Cheap to buy, insure, and repair. Most importantly, fun to drive.

Started off the session really poorly as I ran into a cooler early J9 vs AJ QKT9 board. Then ran good as I cracked AK with AQ. Then I was up. Then clowns started hitting rivers with junk and of course I had premiums so I paid them off. Lost a flip JJ vs AKhh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Can't win em all.

Thanks man, I'm trying to improve on using my position to steal pots. I had a hand with 56 off against a resteal by a TAGish SB. flop was Q34 with 2 clubs. I had a club, SB fires a cbet, I wasn't sure if I should raise or just flat here, but I decided to flat. Turn was a 3rd club was like a 9 or something, SB checks, I fired 2/3 pot and SB folded. I just might take you up on your offer just to gain some insight from you.

Discussion and different points of view should help us both! I have a skype group at the moment that I've made of some diligent players and we do a lot of sweat sessions and it helps my game even though one guy I sweat with plays at 10nl!

Broken,

I work full time so I have a limited amount of time to sweat. Hopefully we can work something out as I'd like to really improve my play especially against reg types.

I thought I played very well today even though sometimes the cards didn't cooperate. Big hand happened when I was on CO with 78hh, UTG raises, I call, SB reg type squeezes, UTG folds, I call. Flop is 778 with 2 diamonds. SB cbets, I flat. Turn is a 9. SB checks, I bet out half pot, SB jams, I obviously call. SB shows up with 9Tdd. River was the 5d and I won the hand.

Damn ran pretty hot today. Flopped like 4 sets, but didn't get too much value. Biggest hand of the night was the following:

I have T8 dd on CO and raise 3x, Calling station BTN 55/7 60bb stack calls, new player SB squeezes to 15bb effective 100bb stack. I was pretty certain that if I called, the calling station will call too, so I flat and calling station does too. Flop is Q9x two spades. SB bets out like 11 dollars, I thought about folding but I don't think the calling station would jam over the top so I just call, and sure enough calling station just calls too. Turn is the J so I hit my straight. SB now bets about half pot, I jam, calling station goes all in, SB goes all in as well. SB shows up with AA and calling station BTN shows up with KK lol. River was a blank and I scoop up a 260 bb pot.

I've heard good things about the Mazda3. IMO, given what you're looking for you can't go wrong with one of those or a Honda Civic or Accord. Btw, nice job today.
