How’s it going, everybody?

Played a quick 222 hand session this morning for about an hour. I forgot I had a doctor’s appointment, so I got in a quick NL sesh before going. Did pretty well there. Played 2 $0.02/0.05 6 max tables (one short buy in) and a 9 max game since we got the recommendation that they were soft. Only one 9max was running, or I would have played more. I like 9 max since it is what I play when I go to the casino, but I like more action on the 6 max tables. Anyways, got kind of a hot streak going in the morning. Here are some hands from the early stages of the day:
1) Got all in vs a guy with 83VPIP over 84 hands with 77 on a 642 flop, he had sixes. Oh well.
2) My KK holds against 55
3) My KK holds against same player from hand 2 who jammed AQ off
4) QQ holds against short stack 3 bet jam in MP with A3 of clubs.
Overall, I finally started hitting some draws and holding my big advantage premium hands. About time we get on the right side of the variance! +$7 this morning. Good start to the day and nice session 1 win.

Session 2 I decided to go the PLO route and play some short $0.01/0.02. Only one short game going here, so I hopped in that one plus a regular $0.01/0.02 PLO game. Made a whopping $0.39! I was up a about a buy in, but one hand kind of messed me up. I must not have tagged it, but here’s basically what happened:

- I have Ah6h5dX. Flop of 8h4h7c. Pot bet and I call with a million draws. Turn 5s. Check, I bet 2/3rd pot and get jammed on, I call with the straight and backdoor nutterbutter. Dude has 8475 and hits the 5h on the river completing my flush and giving him a boat.

- Moral of the story is, if you’re up against a 4 pair, good freaking luck.

Got a $2 free cash again and a $1 deposit match bonus.

After session 2 of Omaha, I continued with some 9max reg $1.50+.15 SNGs of course. We diversify here!
First game I cashed second after entering ITM play as chip leader. Busted A4 vs Q6s on an AhJsTc4h2s7s board. Next we shipped it with A3o vs KJo. The hand before this, the guy all in bluffed me on a pattern of betting he picked up an and tried to exploit. Too bad I woke up with a hand and his K4s couldn’t hit a flush. Played a lot more SNGs after that (11 to be exact) and cashed 5/11, which is not bad, but not terrific. Hey, profit is profit. I won’t go into all the final hands there since there are so many.

Finally, had some dinner and got back to full ring NLHE at $0.02/0.05 again. Got stacked instantly. I mean like twice within 10 hands, and immediately was like oh crap why did I start playing when I already was winning. I should have just accepted the win and did something else with the rest of the day. The two hands were 1) my AK vs K5s  villain VPIP was over 80 after 100 hands and he just kept reloading. Freaking spikes the 5 on the flop and no ace graces us with its presence. 2) My KQs on AsAh7s8s5d vs A5 that gets there on the river. Even if I jam on the turn with the nut flush I doubt opponent folds trip aces unless there’s 4 to a flush he doesn’t have on the board.

After swift deliberation, I decided to just keep going. At this point I was down about $2, but I took my head out of my ass and actually started making moves and trapping instead of just value betting everything. I think my opponents were getting used to me, so I just flipped a switch and started playing a lot more aggressively and stacking people left and right.

Overall, it wasn’t the biggest winning session of the challenge, but it might be the second. Happy with that result, especially since I played the longest of the entire challenge today. I probably put in over 10 hours today. 5 hours of SNGs and about 5 of cash. Results down below! Hope you guys run well!

Do you guys know the best way to rack up points on ACR? I only have 12 days left on my deposit bonus and have only claimed about 10% of it. Cash seems to be doing the most since SNGs at the micros only give about 1.22 FPP per game. Any tips?

What’s up guys?

Played some SNGs to start the sesh off. Just the regular $1.50 + 0.15 9max ones. I was multi-tabling 3 and misclicked my stack off on a shove when I had JToff. I was 3rd, but that put me down to last with like 4 BBs left and I couldn’t recover. I was frozen as soon as that happened. “Oh ****” basically. Second SNG I busted out with JJ on the button facing the CO jam who of course had QQ. 3rd one I bust ATs vs AK, and the 4th I open shoved from CO with KQo and the button snaps it off with AA, so that’s unlucky. Number 5, I get aces in MP and face the open shove from UTG with 4s. The 4 hits the flop and there goes another buy in. Next we lose with the slow played straight. Earlier in this one, I lost a flip with AQs vs TT. I was down to about 115 BBs. I have KJ on ATQ rainbow. Check it and get jammed on. I call and he has QQ. Runout brings two 4s and I lose again. Frustrating.

Speaking of frustrating, #7 was a cash in second with T9 on A9T and the guy had A4 and hit a river flush. Next, #8 just plain pissed me off. On the bubble, I get stacked with the 6 high flush vs 7 high flush. I still am in third, though. A couple hands later I am in 4th with ATs. 3rd place calls with 66. Blanks on flop, ten on the turn, and a 6 on the river. Poker gods, for ****s sake, can I get through a ****ing 2 outer once in my life?? Its so sick like all these freaking hands. I mean I lose with queen high flush to king high flush, Aces cracked by fours, I flop a straight and get rivered for a boat, I turn top pair and get rivered on a set. Like, man it just tilts the hell out of me to get ****ing rivered over and over and over and over again.

Sorry for the rant, but I just need to blow off some steam here. Last SNG was 4 ways for about an hour. One guy wasn’t even playing but kept winning random hands in the BB. I was in first and kept folding. Finally got dealt KK, got it all in and second place has AQ and the ace drops on the flop. What else is new. Ended up folding my way to 3rd place as the missing player was blinded out and finally lost a hand. I got it in with 2 BBs left with T7s vs Q2 off and spiked the ten on the flop only for the turn to be a Q. Just my like today.

Not a great session of SNGs, that’s for sure. It’s just hard to stay focused when you keep getting sucked out on. I had to take a break since I was clearly tilted. Also, I think this is the first SNG session I posted an L for. I guess it had to happen at some point.

Free cash today was $3. Also, I exchanged some combat points for another $1.

I feel like I’m having trouble at this part of the challenge. I mean, my PLO skills are decent, my NL is probably better, and my SNG results have been speaking for themselves, but I can’t quite hold my bankroll above the $150 mark yet. I think it’s a plateau like in weight loss, and I think I am going to have to fine tune some aspects of my game. More studying and more review pre-sesh should be what I need. I’ll keep you updated.

Following the SNG destruction and a short break, I hopped into some 1c/2c PLO action. One short game and one regular. Oddly enough, the short game was playing a lot bigger than the regular. One player was literally raising every hand he played, and he was playing over 80%. Definitely a swingy game with a lot of action. I am talking a lot of variance here, people! I was pretty much either down $1-2 or at even for 150 hands but finally pulled some bluffs and value jams through and connected. I specifically remember getting 3 bet and 5 bet jammed on by one player who had A664 single suit and I called with KKxx and won the pot for about $3. I didn’t recover from the dang SNGs and the string of **** accompanying them, but we came back a little bit. Results down below and thanks for reading! Run hot or run home!

Side note for the readers:

I write these posts throughout the session and keep track of my results both on paper and in PT4. So, if you notice a pretty big change in attitude of how I'm writing or I sound really tilted at the beginning and then chill out at the end it's probably due to me writing these over the span of several hours in word and then transferring them over here.

I will take breaks throughout the session like most people, but if I am really tilted it is in my best interest to walk away for a couple hours or a day or something. Good luck out there!

What’s up, everybody?

Switched it up tonight again. Are you noticing a pattern with this challenge?? Decided to play a tournament with all the SCOOP stuff going around and everybody on youtube/twitch getting some action in. I played a $1.10 Bounty Freezeout tournament. Bounties were only $0.20, though. Got lucky my first hand with AA and tripled up to 9k and snagged a bounty. I lost a sizable hand that put me back at starting stack. I had J2s in the SB and it was going 4 ways when it got to me. Normally, I wouldn’t advise playing this hand at any time, but we were getting a good price and had some flush equity. Flop comes Jc2h3h. No draw but we made top and bottom. I raise and get one caller in the HJ. Turn Q, checks through. River is another Q and I check and face the ½ pot and half stack bet. I call like an idiot to run into AQ. I think if I ship flop I am still getting called by loose players. Anyways, we get aces again and hold vs QKs and take another bounty. I shipped 88 in MP after a PF 3 bet from HJ on a flop of 724. He had jacks and we lost that one.

Antes started getting huge, but we made it into the money. Pretty much every hand after that was either PF all in or fold. Passed on Q9s and T9s. Called pre with A8 on flop of KQQ, checked around and folded facing aggression when we whiffed everything on the turn. Shipped A9s and beat out an A8s. Next hand I have Ac4x on KQJ all clubs. Call half my stack and miss the draw and had to fold. I probably should have just shipped it on the flop.

Got it all in w 4 BB UTG+1 with 77 and got called by 55 and QTd. Got super lucky after the turn was a ten and I thought I was done. The river was a spade and I made the higher flush than 55 and got new life plus a pay jump (only $0.30 but it’s better than nothing!). At this point I was just waiting out the other short stacks and trying to move up the pay ladder. I only had 9 BBs left, so any ace or pocket pair was gold to me. I folded A2off UTG, K2s, etc. Jumped over to observe the other table and realized last place was sitting out. Decided just to wait him out, but a big pot was brewing and a high stack got eliminated. Another pay jump for us!

Got TT in the BB when .25 of my stack was already committed. Limper in the SB with a big stack and loose image decided to call my jam with K4 off and we held. At this point in time, we were hanging on by a thread. Im talking 4-8 BBs after my steal attempt in the CO didn’t get through. Decided to just fold ATo UTG since sitting out was the short stack with less than 1 BB left and when he got out it would be another pay jump. He won a hand with 28o vs a guy with 69 that couldn’t hold vs the 2 on the flop. Another round of waiting for me.

We finally made it to the next level. Guy in CO who jammed every round when folded to him and he had short stacks in Blinds went for it again. We called w J9s and he unfortunately had A8o and won.

Pretty happy with cashing and getting 2 bounties, although I really wanted to climb that ladder. It just comes down to getting blinded/anted out when not getting cards. Pretty soon, you’re short stacked and anybody will call a 6BB jam with a stack. Oh well. We cashed! That is what’s up. Too bad it wasn’t that Sunday million, though!

That’s all the poker I got in today. Worked this morning and the misses was on her way home as I busted. Results down below, and thanks for reading this long post! Run good, run great, and take those chips and buy a BIG ASS STEAK! Idk…

Gonna put the result in a new section below. For some reason, PT4 won’t let me import the hands even though they were being tracked. Also, I tried the edit tournament results and configuring the report and all that but it still wouldn’t show. Any ideas for that??

I liked the tournament I played tonight that the above post was about. I am not thinking of becoming a tourney grinder by any means, though. I like some aspects, but I'm not a fan of the super top heavy payouts. For this KO tournament, bounties were basically nothing and Top 3 made 85% of the prize pool. Not sure if that's how it is for all tournaments or just bounties, but playing for 4 hours to make half a buy in at 1c/2c games just doesn't seem worth it unless you finish top 3, which of course doesn't happen every time. I think it was fun, but I will stick to SNGs and NL/PLO for the time being since i want to make sure BRM and all that is in order.

I may not be able to play tomorrow since i work and want to see my mom for mother's day, and she lives about 2 hours away. Back at it again on Monday! Hope you guys have a good rest of your weekend!

Hey, everybody

Decided to get up early this morning and get some hands in before work since I wouldn’t be able to play tonight. I went to get my free cash but apparently you only get 20 cards out of the 25 for some reason, so no more free cash bonuses for us. For some weird reason my PT4 wasn’t working. Then, my computer decided to restart in the middle of a hand. Nice start to the morning.

Playing some 2c/5c 6 max action. Here’s a cooler for you.
I have QcQs. Raised from BB to 3x and we 3 bet to 45c. He calls. Flop comes ThKh5s. I check he bets ½ pot and we make the call. Turn is the Qh. We check raise and he calls. River is Kc. I bet enough to get him to jam, we snap it off with the full house only to get a look at AJh for THE ROYAL FLUSH. Stackarino cappuccino.

I ended up stacking that player who had the royal about 5 hands later when he made a light call with JTs on a T44Q6 board that didn’t make his flush and I had AA.
Profited about $0.50 in the cash game. I forgot I registered a turbo 9 max SNG so I hopped onto that when it popped up and left the cash game my next BB.

Stacked someone early with my JJ vs Q9 on a 973 flop after they jammed when I checked. Later, I sniffed out the bluff of a century for me. My 55 called all the way down on a Q high board when they jammed the river w AKs and a missed nutterbutter draw. Snapped him off and into first I went. From there it was just applying pressure to short stacks and coasting into the money.

88 held against A7, JJ beat out A4, A8c lost out to KQc on flopped King, AKs couldn’t hold against 55s with a flopped 5.

Final hand heads up I have AKd in BB. BTN min raises and we jam. He calls with QTd and the ten of hearts hits the flop with 2 diamonds behind. We whiff the diamonds, ace, and king and cash in second. 65% preflop advantage, 48% after the flop, and nothing. Oh well.

Im not really sure what to do about tracking these since PT4 isn’t working for me right now, but I’ll look into it before I go to work.

Good luck out there, everybody!

Hey everybody,

Hope you all have had a good weekend at the tables and enjoyed some time with your mom on Sunday! Onto poker!

Today was another short session since I worked this morning and am going to play a long time tomorrow if I can fix a couple issues. My PT4 HUD isn’t appearing on my tables in cash or SNGs. I’m not sure what the problem is. I will try re-installing tomorrow if it still isn’t working.

Also, I’m not sure if you guys have noticed this or not, but ACR has a new bonus window in the rewards section. I opened mine up and had some unclaimed $40 bucks or so and instantly grabbed it since I didn’t want to lose it if I waited! That’s an awesome and unexpected boost to this challenge, if I may say so!

I started playing PLO and only played about 15 hands or something ridiculous like that. Tripled up real fast on two different river jams against a fish who thought jamming aces with no draws on wet flops was a good idea. Since my HUD wasn’t appearing, I didn’t want to continue there since one of my advantages was gone. Instead, I hopped into a regular 9 max $1.50 SNG. On the bubble, I busted with KK vs AA. But that’s not even the worst of it. The dude I jammed on was a total station and playing virtually every hand, but he just kept hitting lucky river flushes or straights or sets. I mean this dude got it in behind at least 6 times and kept hitting it. I was no exception to his luck. Besides having KK vs AA in a SNG on the bubble and that being cruel enough, we managed to flop 58K and turn a 5 for the boat. Wouldn’t you guess it, the 96% win on the turn was broken down when he rivered the 2 outer for the higher full house. Very very unlucky, but I really couldn’t do anything about it.

Following that, we had some extra moolah so I played a SNG 2.0 on ACR. I didn’t realize they were turbos, though, as I must have forgot that since I played them when I first started my ACR account. We got pretty lucky on the card drawing at the beginning and I believe 6 people pulled green cards, which made the prize pool $70 and cashes for 6 out of the 9 players with 5th place being profit and 6th being the buy in minus the rake fees and all that.

We ended up getting pretty lucky and applying pressure when weakness was in the air. Made it all the way down to heads up with my AK hands holding vs J9 and J8s for some much needed double ups before heads up. Final hand I get ATs in the BB and button raises to 1k. I had about 8k and he had about 5k behind. I just jammed and he called with like KQ or something and we held to score the $22.40 cash and make this the biggest win of the challenge and increasing the bankroll by 33% just today (bonuses included). All in all, despite the almost suckout turned bigger suckout in the first SNG I played, it was an alright day!

Good luck out there, everybody! Results down below.

LOL yep the HUD wasn't working and there were only 4 people including me at the table. Stacked 2 people, called it good and free rolled a $1.50 SNG haha that's how we do it. Pretty good result for a short stack buy in $0.01/0.02 PLO game

What’s up, guys?

Decided to play the $1000 guaranteed that started this morning at 11am. Buy in was $3.00+.30. Had to rebuy very early when AJc couldn’t hold against big slick. On the second bullet we made a deep run. Spoiler Alert: With 438 entrants we ran down to finish in 32nd. There’s a whole bunch of hands to report on. I wrote down about 30 hands while I was playing, but I’m not going to subject you guys to that torture.

However, there is one juicy bad boy to talk about. My final breaking point came pretty deep – about 4 hands before I busted. With 55k in my stack on the BTN, it was folded around to CO (53k stack) who raised 4 BB. The short stack was in the BB with about 8 BBs left, and I figured he might be attempting to steal. This in mind and having the BB in a jam/fold position, I figure we might as well rip our pocket Kings and get calls from Ax hands and pocket pairs. BB folds and CO snaps me off with AA. We whiff the flop, turn, and river and are left with 1BB and 2 antes. Final hand was me in BB with A6o vs 99 and we miss again.

You know, it seems really unlucky that two days in a row I get the best hand I have had all day, which are the cowboys, and then we just get the cooler delivered to us with aces. I am happy to have cashed, though, and it’s better than busting, but poker gods deliver me some justice with the kings for Pete’s sake!

Following that tourney, I uninstalled PT4 and reinstalled it and still not showing HUDs or anything. IDK what is going on with that. I am going to submit a customer service request tonight on the PT website and hopefully get this taken care of. I am still posting wins in cash games even though I’m only playing a couple orbits, but not having the HUD reduces my advantage. Also, I mean I’m a poker player and I want to get the most out of my money. If I pay over $100 for a PLO and Hold ‘em software, I want it to work properly.

Anyways, the tournament was my main focus for the 5 hours it was going, which I mean I probably could have made more playing cash games or SNGs, but first place was over $250 so that would have been nice. We made a buck in cash and a buck in tournies, but no bonuses for us today.

I think that tomorrow if I get some responses and fix my PT4 I am going to be playing only cash and try and get out of the red there so I can be positive in both tourney/SNG and cash. I will be playing a couple hands like today and yesterday, but I won’t be booking a huge cash sesh if I don’t get that software working.

My lady’s parents bought us furniture for outside, so she’s on her way back now. I get to put that together when she gets home. Hope you guys had some deep runs and stacked some people in cash games! Good luck out there, everybody. Results down below!

What's going on people?

Still haven't heard back from PT support. If I don't get a response tonight I think I am going to play either jackpot SNGs, SNG 2.0, or regular SNGs tonight. Not looking to mix it up in cash too much until I get my HUD figured out. I might mess around in PLO if the short stack games are running, but they don't usually run weekday nights. Hope you guys have a good day at the tables!

Finally got PT4 fixed so we hopped into some cash PLO at $0.02/0.05. Didn’t run super hot and got coolered with the nut flush vs the straight flush. Similar situation we got it all in with the Ace high flush draw on the flop vs a loose player with aces and weak danglers. Missed and there goes almost 2 buy ins. After that we decided to just jump into some of the same stakes at NLHE.

Played 6 tables at $0.02/0.05 with 4 being 6 max and 2 being full ring. Did really well surprisingly since when I have multitabled more than 2-3 at a time I really start bleeding chips. I got in the zone and was lucky to have some weaker tables where aggression would win pots even without hands. This also helped when I started hitting hands. I can’t tell you how many times I was winning pots at showdown vs A or K high hands. It was pretty sweet honestly. I was playing pretty tight, but it was also a challenge for me to make the GTO decision all the time in regards to position. There was one player who was 3 betting me a lot, and I feel like I could have gotten some value from 4 betting him, but I was too weak to pull the trigger with my marginal hands. That is one thing I will have to work on from here on out. Sometimes it’s not what you have but how you play it, and I think all poker players will wholeheartedly agree. I mean, you’ll probably never catch me 4 betting a 7-2off hand, but you know what I mean.

Overall, we dug ourselves out of the PLO ditch and managed to cash out +~$1 for the day, which is better than a loss. We don’t have bonuses today, but I am pretty close to a $10 FPP bonus and another buck from my deposit match bonus. Hopefully we can ship some SNGs tomorrow since I have the day off and love playing those when I have a lot of free time.

I plan on moving up SNG stakes when I have 100 BIs for them, which I know is pretty conservative, but this is a bankroll challenge, and I am not trying to overextend the funds in here. I don’t want to redeposit as it defeats the purpose of the challenge. I think if I cash 5/10 SNGs tomorrow I will take a shot at the next level, but it won’t be a permanent adjustment yet. Also, if there’s a nice juicy tournament I may go for that, but I am not looking to play for 4-5 hours, so hopefully theres a bounty KO or something like that.

Thanks for reading everybody! I hope you guys are running well today.

Here’s a reader question for you guys:
Do you ever watch youtube vloggers or poker lessons online? If you do, who do you like watching/what programs are you apart of? Personally, I really like trooper97 for entertainment and Andrew Neeme/Doug Polk for actual strategy. Interested to hear about your experience with poker vloggers.

When my deposit match bonus expires the end of this month I plan on switching over to the 27% rakeback program ACR offers. I have done a lot of reading on the FPP vs Rakeback programs, and it seems that for lower stakes and not an insane amount of grinding, I would benefit more from rakeback.

Do you guys use rakeback or FPP system? What was the deciding factor for you?

Hey guys,

Jumped into some SNGs to start the session off. It wasn’t quite the start I was looking for. Here are the hand summaries:

1) A7s jam on A7T7 vs TT. River was a blank and we get coolered for the boat over boat.
2) ---We have 88 on TTK8 turn. Facing the jam we call to run into JTo. River is the only T left in the deck for another fantastic river that cripples us.
---Same SNG as above, facing jam from shorter stack we have A6s and call vs pocket fives. Can’t hit anything. Bye bye.
3) We have Q7o and it is min raised and we call in BB. Not the best hand but oh well. Flop comes 7JA. We cbet and get called. Turn is Q. We fire another barrel and get jammed on. We call to run into QK. HOOOOOLD! But we can’t as the river is a K.
4) Unfortunately for us #4 was another preflop jam where we ripped it in from the BB with 99 and get called by aces of course
5) #5 and another run in with aces. We have A6 of spades on a 6h8s2s board. We jam and get called by pocket rockets and miss all 11 outs.
6) Next we were heads up for about 30 minutes or so and we finally shipped one with A8 vs 33 when we flopped the A.
7) Finished in 3rd in #7. Made it to ITM play. Get jammed on and we call with TT facing JTs. Flop brings a jack with a straight draw but we cant connect and are down to 2 BBs. Next hand we ship KQs with next to no chips and get called by KK and cant hit our flush draw.
8) Interesting game. A couple flips. We lose A5h to 77, lose AQ vs 22, and lost the final hand.
Out of the money here. It was one monster stack vs 4 of us with >10BB. Big stack was jamming every hand and taking down orbits of blinds. We lose with the QTs vs 88 when he flopped a set, we turned a straight, and he rivered the full house.
9) I was short stack since there were 7 players left after I lost an all in call vs a player with 6BBs left. QTs vs AKs. Elimination happened when we jammed JJ and got called by big stack with QTo and binked a Q on the flop.
10) Call the BB after jamming our SB min raise with 66vsA7o and flop is KAQ, cant hit our flush or 6 and bust.
11) QQ can’t hold vs ATo an an ATx flop and that brings us pretty low in chip count, but we recover. To get in the money when AJ holds v JT. Final KO hand is A2 vs 66. Pretty wide shove honestly. We hit the 2 on the flop but don’t improve.
12) Bust in 3rd hand with the king high flush vs Ace high flush.
13) Lucky 13. Not really. Lose KK vs 88 when the 8ball hits the corner pocket on the flop.

In all honesty, I really wasn’t that focused when I started playing. I was on my phone waiting for my hands and stuff. I think that played a small role in not doing very well. I really started focusing but to no avail. It was just run bad and cooler and then I tilt jammed with A2 or something not that great. Also, I was playing short stack $0.01/0.02 PLO in between SNGs.

Played some jackpots after the SNGs, but my internet kept going out for about 4 minutes at a time and I was getting blinded out after being chip leader in the first one. So frustrating man. My Spotify wasn’t working so I had youtube going, but it kept getting ****ed up since my internet was being bipolar, I was getting coolered left and right, the freaking SNGs were lagging me down to nothing, and I just couldn’t hold 80% of the jams I was ahead on.

Here are the results
1)In the chip lead 2:1 going into heads up play and my computer had to restart and then couldn’t connect to wifi. Finally got back in the game and my 1035 stack was down to 45 and I was all in in the BB wwith like 74 or something. Cue tilt.
2) Heads up with 85s on an 852 board. Get raised and we jam and get called with 54. Turns the 4 and rivers another 4. How does this happen?
3) AJ can’t connect vs 55.
4) A9vsA8 doesn’t hold with a 57692.
5) Q6 vs 58 on flop of Q79. We cbet, get called. River is 6 and we make 2 pair. We jam and get called by 58 for the straight.
6) K2s vs KJ on flop KXX and cant hold
7)we actually won this one
8) Short stack we jam QTs vs K2o and he flops a set of 2s.

Really frustrating day and terrible for the roll. Couldn’t hold any hands, ran into aces twice. Variance just wasn’t on our side yesterday. I didn’t finish this post because I just didn’t even want to think about the session. But, here we are today about ready to start the next session with a clear head following a morning workout. It is clear that I made a couple mistakes jamming crappy hands, but I do believe we got the short end of the stick a majority of the time.

I am planning on either playing a long cash session today or 2 tournaments. I will check out what’s running and plan my errands around that. I hope you guys are running well today! Good luck out there. Results down below!

Hey guys,

Got a $1 deposit match bonus today to start things off and get us on the road to recovery after yesterday’s big loss.
Started off the sesh with a $10 freeroll just to get things going and maybe get a cash. We late regged in level 2 and were in 123 of 481 entrants when we entered. Pocket kings second hand goes 4 ways all in and we took the side pot which was 2.5k vs a short stack who flopped a straight, but that’s a good way to kick it off as we jumped up to 48th place. Got it in 3 ways pre with TT vs J6o and KJs and of course a jack flops and we bust out. Pretty quick bust but I mean I’ll take those calls any day.

Hopped in 2 more freerolls, busted one all in pre with A5s vs 77, and the other with J9o in SB vs BB on flop of J9K with 2 spades vs KTs and the flush fell on the river.

Took a bit of a break after a quick little Omaha loss of a buy in when we ran a nut flush into a boat. Following that we hopped into 4 tabling 5NL. Quickly got stacked once when we had 88 and 3 bet the btn min raise in the SB. Flop comes AA8, we check and they shove in half their stack. We jam and they have AK. Blank on the turn and K on the river. Why me lol. We were down about $9 at one point but finished down $4.11. Not the greatest night but I look forward to playing again.

It’s kind of weird. I want to play cash games all day but then when I sit down to play it’s like I’m nervous to start or something. I usually just watch a youtube video or something and then get started.

My old lady just brought me home taco bell on her way back from work and I am extremely hungry so I am going to go get some of that.

Hopefully this mini downswing ends tomorrow and we can get back over $200. It is only going to take one good session (2BIs) to finally get some profit going in the cash games. I am hungry for that, as well. Good luck out there guys!

What’s going on 2+2?
Got home from work and immediately started playing some cash games following a brief hand history review and note taking. Hopped into 4 6max 5NL games. I was down early but came back thankfully. Never made too much with my QQ-AA hands. I didn’t change bet sizing but put in some 3 bets that folded out other hands. I played one hand particulary well with 99 on a TT29A board and got value from 2 other players. Other than that, it wasn’t too eventful of a session. I ended the cash session somewhat early since I was more concerned with booking a win to get some confidence back rather than just putting in a ton of volume.

Also, I decided that when I double up at one table to just leave and add a different table. This way, if I get into a situation with another big stack at the table, I won’t lose everything I have built in the session on one hand. I did this for 2 or 3 tables, but I stayed at one with 200 BBs in my stack due to a huge fish who was calling down any pair or ace high. Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up anything worth playing at that table for the remainder of the session, though.

After the NL sesh, I jumped into the $10 freeroll just to keep the session going without risking any actual money. This is a BR challenge after all! I don’t know if you guys have played these on ACR, but the first few orbits you pretty much just have to fold pre unless you get JJ+ since there’s one person jamming every hand trying to get lucky. I cracked open a couple beers and got going. Immediately down to 1/3rd stack when my set got rivered by a straight, and then busted AQo vs TT. Hey, it’s a freeroll, man.

I am pretty happy with the progress we have made so far. This marks session #30. Even though a good chunk of profits have come from bonuses, we have doubled up the BR in a month, and that is something I am proud of. I honestly had my doubts doing this, but the help from this forum and support I have gotten has kept my head in it. I have been studying and reviewing a lot, and I can definitely tell that my game has significantly improved. I hope by session 60 we will be at least to $300.

I decided not to play SNGs today since I still have a bad taste in my mouth from that last session where we lost too much. I think tomorrow I continue the cash grind. I want to be in the green in the next 7 sessions, and that is a firm goal. I know I am better than what my results show right now. I have had a problem with being too loose from early position, which I feel I have been fixing the past couple cash game sessions. I look to play my big hands there, but I am not trying to get too crazy. I will be reviewing hands before each session to prepare myself.

I am switching to rakeback program once I earn another 32 Combat Points. I will earn a dollar bonus then, and the rakeback is far more beneficial than the elite player benefits from what I have read. More hands = more rake = more money in the BR.

Good luck out there everybody! Keep grinding and get stacking.
