Haha I was just about to link to the interview PokerStrategy did to me, and funnily enough it kinda answers those questions, but I won't be a snob and I'll explain a bit more.. Basically the answer is honestly just playing a lot and accumulating a lot of experience that way. In addition of course talking to other players of similar skill level (or higher) helps a lot, as does reading on the forums (whilst being a bit aware that not all the advice is good), maybe watching some videos etc. Like most things, the harder you work, the better you will do, for the most part. How much % did you have in AM ME?

It's mentioned above, I think, but basically I get 'only' like 10% or something immediately and another potential 12ish% later depending on how well I do in the rest of my tournaments since it's a long term package deal. Still a decent amount of money and the experience was great, but ya it's a pretty small piece to have of 220k! As soon as I cashed I just handed out a bunch of swaps, felt good and a tiiiny bit painful at the same time (good because most of the people who had shares/swaps were friends).

Continuing to not play very much, but run decent! Starting to get a tiny bit concerned with my VPPs (or lack thereof) but I guess I'll make up for the slack eventually

Dispite my bet sizing being pretty big, I felt like betting bigger (especially on river) and kinda regret not doing so. But I guess there's a chance this sizing could be similar or maaaybe higher EV if he is calling a bunch of TT and worse, but folding those to a bigger bet (unless he specifically is calling a jam with Jx). I guess he can have A3 (even offsuit) JJ and 88 too though.

Hey buddy I'm not sure about the details but I know Auckland is generally not a great place for live poker because the games aren't running that often and there is very rarely stakes higher than 2/4 from what I know. They definitely aren't full or regs or pros so they would be pretty soft for sure.

I'm starting to get pretty concerned about my volume (or lack of) because I only have 16K VPPs so far this month, and I really, really want to get 50K because using both of the months where I can get less than 50K VPPs to maintain SNE right at the start seems like a disaster! I only have 26K total for the year as well... I might even end up forcing myself to play some hypers, but I don't really want to.... Ugh, lol, I'll do some math and see, if I can manage with just zoom I will probably stick to it, otherwise I'll probably play some hours of hypers.

Lifetime results at 500NL are starting to look a bit better so kinda happy about that, 200 not so much but I mostly explained why I think that is (variance, and I focus on 500 more in general anyway).

Thanks, never really thought about getting the EV back to evenish so feels pretty nice now that it is, and hopefully with run it twice it won't go too crazy apart in the future. Not being greedy either; I'm not asking to run way above!

Had a -4K session today, kinda annoying but obviously after a solid run for the year so far not gonna complain too much. I think I played mostly fine, there was some spew in there as you can imagine but was running pretty bad in terms of set ups, board run outs and also races all-in preflop etc.

Really unsure of this hand. Dont really understand the river play.. maybe you could explain a little bit. I just cant see 5% pot to induce with 55 here is profitable against most opponents. Also the 5% pot thing is a really weird line, what was your logic behind bet sizing? Either way nh and i guess super sick read that hes shoving with worse.

Also i was wondering if youve seen the $8.8 satties to the 7th anniversary sunday million. A few mates suggested i check em out and they seem like the most ridiculously profitable thing ive ever seen on stars. Wondering your view as an experience sng grinder about possible attainable roi's etc considering swapping 180's for these satties until the sunday million then obvs binking the million .

My thoughts...

It was vs a fish (so this strategy isn't really one to use vs regs) and they way a typical fish thinks is "oh he's only bet $5, must be weak, I have nothing so my all-in will make him fold". Added with the fact that fish don't value shove AA or AK here, probably not KQ to means the fish will only have 6x, KK or QQ (although fish would check the turn with QQ), so just 2 hands here really for a fish to shove with for value ---> easy call.

Ultimately, betting $5 acts as a blocker bet which can call if shoved on vs a fish.

Yeah basically I think he can have air a big % there, and often he won't wanna call or fold when I'm only betting $5, so he will bluff raise a lot here. As coopah explained, he won't value jam that thinly most of the time (he will sometimes jam KQ or AA but not always, but rarely weaker Kx or Qx etc) and the best part is if he has air he will sometimes call anyway
Of course if we check, he may bluff his air sometimes/a big % too though. We could also bet a little bit bigger to accomplish similar things. By no means am I saying this is definitely the max EV line, however it's just a fun one to take
