While I may not agree with Takezo on somethings, I can definitely relate to him and to some level understand why he does the things he does.

So when I shoot up $100 to $1000+, it feels good to "pay myself" and protect myself from......myself... Let's say I am playing a poker game and I lose a few hundred...I'm not happy because I hate to lose. So in my mind, I want to find the quickest way to win that money back. If I only had a few hundred remaining in my account, I would be forced to take it slow and grind my way back up. However, if I had the thousands in my account that I chose not to cash out, I would have full access to make bigger bets and/or more risky bets that could leave everything I worked for at risk to the Online Casino.
I'm waiting on Ignition (formerly Bovada) to process a cash out for me right now before i play again. I didn't want to put a ton of money on the site in order to have a proper bankroll for higher stakes nor did I want to spend my time grinding the low stakes. I just wanted to put some money on the site, run it up, and make some quick money. So I put $1k on the site, quickly ran it up to $6k and am now waiting on a $5k cashout before I play again.
For a second I thought maybe I could just allocate $1k to my bankroll and not touch the other $5k. That would work fine if I was grinding. What I'm doing is not grinding though. It is gambling. Sure, it is gambling where i have a significant edge, but it is gambling none-the-less. The fact that I have $6k in my account will change the way I play because I will be more willing to take risks, more willing to flip for stacks, etc. I'm sure some would argue that you should always just make the most +EV play, which is true if you have a bankroll. However, if you don't have a bankroll, I'd argue that it's much better to pick your spots, otherwise you pretty much doom yourself to go broke.
