I don't know anybody who stares at a screen for their job all day, then comes home to stare at a screen for several hours more. I have some friends who are computer programmers and they specifically avoid computers in their spare time. They say that they would lose their mind and go insane if they had to stare at a screen for any longer. Don't force the issue of playing. Poker is supposed to be fun and 12+ hours a day concentrating on a computer screen is enough to burn anybody out. Good luck.
Thanks for your response. Im not sure yet if im able to beat it, because i only played like 10k hands so far (on party). I achieved some mixed results on NL5-25 tbh, but i guess this is not the right place to write more about that. I could think about getting a coach when i start my master study in october, but before i shouldn´t spend my brain power on that (need to start writing my bachelor thesis soon)

Im not a programmer or sth like that, but i happen to read a ton at work, since im bored otherwise. My project has proved to be not really time consuming/challenging. But other than that i totally agree

Good to hear you clawed back $3k. However this is a cooler. You would have lost your stack had you been the one who had 66.

Also if you had an overpair or TPTK, you would have shoved into SB's middle set and lost. I think SB actually outplayed you here, because he knew you had a strong hand you weren't folding if you bet into 3 players. His donk was the perfect play vs you in this spot. He was simply unlucky to run into the one hand that beat him (technically 2 hands because 45 gets there ).

You outplayed the AKdd guy of course, no question there. I have no clue what he was doing in the hand beyond the flop. Congratulations on stacking him!

There was no skill involved in that hand just luck. Good thing OP was on the good side this time.

there was the skill of flop bet sizing which induced the whale with AKdd and it made me another $1000

of course there was luck involved, that's poker, however flop sizing increased my winrate by many bb

You going to do a trip report? Would be good to hear what you got up to aside from poker too. Nh with jj not sure why spin is saying 66 out played you.

hi everybody

arrived back from vegas today, and tbh im so glad to be back. Im kind of sick of vegas and live poker grind. Live variance is just so ****. 20-30h per hr is mind numbing. I could never be a live pro. Most of them just nut peddle.

overall i played average and results were the same. -$4.1k and 190hrs of play

tbf i also ran like a dog only winning 1 aipf for over 80bb for the whole trip. I just wasnt making hands and losing to better hands. Enough whinging, im back to the online grind. Put in a welcome back sess at 100z today and won 500bb in 900 hands. TY very much stars.

Ill try to keep thread updated

peace

One of the reasons I'd never grind in Vegas. I only do the tourist thing there and still love the place.

Grats on the online results though.

lol maybe tbh i just don't understand many of your plays. it's either genius or random af

But, i have been looking at some OTB hands and his 3b sizes oop are huge too, from what i've seen

Anyway sorry for judging all the best

hehe, well my plays are definitely not genius

yeh from what I've seen/worked on with 3b sizings oop, bigger ones definitely perform better, however there are merits to both

np man, gl to you
