I agree with plop85s post in general, but don't agree it applies to the low frequency situations of those hands. Over calling sets is not a leak.
Yes, I stated some general ideas. Stacking off with a set every time shouldn`t affect our WR because of the very low frequencies of the scenario.

thats true tda - pretty thin imo but perhaps you are right

1/12/16 – Mental calm, thinking about ranges, checking more OOP and generally feel nice about game. Im making solid folds and value betting thinly. Im not getting frustrated at all, even when I lose a big pot or get coolered.

100z seems to have really given you a beating. Don't feel too disheartened - it takes a good few shots before it sticks. Gl in December max

hey bud cheers, yeah its mainly just mental game, tilt issues and thinking, "oh its 100z these guys are good and making plays at me so i better fight back with more aggression"......and it doesnt end well good to see you have a smashing month bro

2/12/16 – Overall I feel I played 7.5/10. I was a little erratic at times and made some questionable plays. I need to review the hands and see how bad it was. Other than the few instances I was composed, although one hand a guy runner runner 2p in 3b pot and I blirted out wtf at the computer because based on stats that was the never in his range lol. I feel more positive, although I feel weird because whenever I run above ev I feel like the wins are not deserved. Either way it was a winning session. I didn’t look at results until the very end. This certainly helps in my game. In the near future I would like to make a goal of not looking at results for 1 week. Man that would be so hard for me.

In other news im now a Supernova for first time woop woop

Regarding not looking at graphs,

you could try removing the green line. I think it makes a hell of a difference in terms of being able to treat getting it in good as progress mentally, regardless of the outcome. Short term allin EV is just a distraction anyway.

I could never quit looking completely, this light version works for me

Cool thread mate, sorry to hear it's been a tough run recently.

Hands above; KQ - not folding here, both flush draws brick so there's enough bluffs in his range imo but haven't ran a breakdown of ranges on it? Ako vs btn 3bet, how much data do you have on V? Unless we are certain V is a super nit pre then I always err on the side of 4betting these spots. TT - reasons for raising donk? I'd normally just let him bluff off / value bet into us with this kind of spot but interested to hear reason for raising. JTs - standard.

Keep up the great work on the updates. Mental game is so key and essential I feel to get real consistent success and enjoy the game as much as possible. I felt like i had it pretty nailed for a while but since moving to a new limit recently it's been hard to shake the accumulated tilt that comes with a tough period / run bads in all ins etc which in turn makes you more emotionally invested with run outs.

Do you have a notepad in session / write a summary after you finish? As recommended in 'the mental game of poker', I've found this most useful. Writing a quick summary after each session, particularly when tilted and then noticing patterns when you've collected enough info on yourself. Little things like not having snacks during my sessions is key to mental A game for me same as having a proper 'warm up' before starting.

Hey bud, other than 100z im crushing 50z so its all ok I raise the donk for value - obv hes a fishy reg donking into other fish and me being a reg, so its either value or draw etc. imo. So he will call a small raise. There are also fd and srt8 draws so i dont want him to get good price. If hes donking air which i doubt im not going to get value either way.

I have a word doc journal, and i post thoughts on here that i write in it.

3/12/16 – I felt a little erratic today. I need to calm more and wait for each decision that’s not simple pf stuff. I snap made some calls without considering ranges much that definitely cost me $$$. Next session goal is to wait at least 3 seconds before any larger decision. Overall though it was a solid session 7/10 imo.

I like it. Its good to expand your knowledge and improve your game. For $250 its cheap imo.

4th & 5th/12/16 - I played two sessions on Sunday with the first being fantastic. Mentally I was great. Calm, precise and not upset when hands didn’t go my way. I was having internet issues for the second session. The stars client kept freezing and it started to tilt me a lot. I punted off about 5 stacks and then quit. Overall for the day I was down about $130 and could have been much worse. I have stop losses now of 5bi so that helped me, because if I kept on playing I would have lost more. I did also identified my mood and was planning on quitting anyway. I was happy I recognised my anger and tilt. Today being the 5th I played one session in the morning. Overall it was a solid B/A game session. Only one hand annoyed me vs a fish but I shrugged it off. I also ran well which was nice. I seem to lose concentration after about 1.25k hands. So perhaps I should have 1-1.5hr session then have a break from now on.

2 day grraph

**** mate , that looks like some horrendous run bad... wishing you the best of luck to grind out of it

Here's my thoughts...

h8 (JJ) - I'd fold river
h9 (A3s) - unless you have some strong notes on villain then I'd say it's a fold
h11 (KK) - mehh lol, don't be too hard on yourself, it's not an easy call, altho I do think it's a fold (not that I'd be able to make it :P, we lose together my friend)
h12 (99) - fooooold
h13 (JTo) - really hate it, but I guess you had notes on him to justify this? If you didn't then I'd say this is really spewwy, if you did, then unlucky (I'm trusting you did )

GL man - a lot of these hands were straight up hands that you are destined to lose in tbh. Stay positive!

hey guys

exciting news!!! I have decided to join a cfp program in order to move up as quickly as possible. I think the progress I can make whilst being coached by a very good player and part of a community should help tremendously. The cfp program is with d7o1d1s0.

The plan is to sort out some leaks at 50z then move straight back to 100z. I have the roll for it, so with coaching, improved skills, solid work on mental game and hopefully some good variance i will crush

In terms of results since last update, im on a little downer of around 20 or so bi. I did a review of all hands lost over 40bb and added up 692bb of mistakes. So bad play combined with variance/bad card distribution sees me in this position. The last two sessions ive played i have not looked at results once. So im happy about that. I also have a strict stop loss with tiltbreaker of 4bi, which i hit today (ev loss of only 1.5bi ) so im really excited about becoming a better player and working along side Donald and the other players.

So.....hopefully the first post in my thread is going to come true, its just a matter of time, until i get to 200+. The world has a funny way to reward those who put int he hard work.

thanks mate

So nearly a week after being in the cfp. I have had a session with D7 and identified an area that i can work on dramatically. I have played around 8k hands since and doing quite well. Im running well with AIPF spots vs short stack fish (AK vs JJ etc) but up about 8bi or something. I have also switched over to hm2 to make it easier for db reviews with d7. So just getting used to new huds etc. One things thats tremendously helped over past week with mental game is not looking at results until ive finished the session as closed tables. Its funny because my redline has improved dramatically.

Ill post graphs and hands next update but very happy with things.

Off to vegas for christmas & nye with my mrs on 24th so really looking forward to that

Here is the graph since update or at least since i started with d7. It doesnt say anything really other than ive been running quite average. Alot of big folds but also some bad calls on my behalf. Im getting called down really light at the moment which kinda sucks. But overall my stats are looking better. Card distribution is terrible but yeah. Working harder than ever to get better

its weird.....when i dont look at my results during a session my redline is pretty flat, but when i do it starts to drop....it must change the way im thinking to make decisions to get back to even etc.

Todays session
I didnt look at results at all until the very end so im super happy about that. I had some major coolers but still managed to do well
