So haven't played a lot at all the past 3 days, and when i have played the games have really sucked and i've lacked any real consistency. Got a few interesting hands:
Literally in shock that this has happened again! vs super loose aggro reg:
This was vs a fish with a 38% flop raise and a 8% pf3bet. Really not sure if i can fold this hand. kinda feels like i should be finding a fold somewhere
Really happy with the way i played from about a week into the month until the end. Unfortunately i've been ill the past 4 days so have played pretty much no hands.
Fortunately ran really above ev this month too, though it definitely doesn't tell the full story with the number of sick coolers i was receiving without giving many at all.
vs a winning regular. Pretty sick hand imo. Not overly sure that i like his bluff because i think he reps too thin for value - just quads and Q's full. Almost certain he doesn't shove flushes for value either.
So a couple things to update on. For a long time ive been trying to gain wait and generally bulk up but haven't ever fully committed to it. I've had a good talk with Glanza_Mike about diet etc and have been reading up on it myself and i have now decided to properly give it a go. Will keep updated on how my progression is going and also if i run into any trouble and might need some guidance! The general jist is 5 smaller meals a day and gym 3 times a week.
Also i'm considering taking a shot at 400nl fr at some point over the next week or two.
Just throwing these 2 goals out there for the month and see how things go!
Felt i played pretty good, but i'm finding myself playing too many tables and not taking time looking at stats etc so gunna cut down my tables tomorrow and concentrate more.
Some hands from today:
vs a reg that i haven't played a lot with before. I like his bluff tbh:
+1, he's either horribly unbalanced and bluffing that dry runout waaaay too much, or he's selecting terrible hands to bluff, and doing something else with hands that would actually bluff well. Either way it's bad.
Yeh I mean his hand selection is definitely terrible but as for the spot in general vs a lot of guys at 100nl they would be folding all over pairs by the river if not the turn. I'd have a tough time calling down here with kings for example. Don't get me wrong, his bluff isn't 'good' per say but it's purpose vs many players - applying max pressure in spots that people like to fold in ESP given we're 250bb deep, will work a seriously high % vs most. Hope this makes sense
Don't think the bluff is terrible. Sure the flop and turn may not be optimal but by the river there are still a reasonable amount of combos that he'd do this with for value. What hands he chooses to balance this with is not as important as you make it sound imo. Not in this situation and also 260bb deep at .5/1 most regs are letting a whole lot of hands go by the river.
Right so i hit 3k profit for the month and that was my profit goal before mixing in 400!
Had a ridiculous tasty whale today and some other hands:
Somehow had the worst hand vs him on the flop - He was getting it in with A high and bottom pair constantly. Nice for the ev though! He was running 90/26 with around 0% fold to cbet on all streets
The new diet is going great too. Managed to keep up with the 5 meals a day with correct measurements of protein, carbs and fats and been gyming too. Certainly feels really weird to constantly have food in my body which is something im still adjusting to but i've heard it will get easier with time.
Will do a weigh in after the first week of the new regime which is in 4 more days. Hopefully i will have gained a pound or two
Hopefully 400 goes better than my first ever 200nl shot!
how did you come up with your diet? I am trying to start eating clean to gain muscle mass but the only way I manage to eat 5 meals per day and ~3000 calories is by eating a lot of junk food. Obviously thats not great but I am not sure what else to do. Also since you live in london, where do you buy your food? (I m asking cause I usualy go to tesco and the chicken is pretty terrible there so I end up never eating healthy foods)
