So i'm at ~25k hands for the month with a goal of 40k, but going away to barcelona tomorrow. Losing a decent chunk for the month, but have a ~3bb wr so no complaints.

Looking forward to some sun, table tennis, thrice and even excited for the livaments, although i imagine that'll be short lived

Have fun in Barca, boss! I'm really sad to not be going I can really recommend going to the street festival in 'Gracia' at least one night when it's going on. Had a blast there last year and the decorations/festivities are pretty impressive. Oh and GL in the donkaments

Up to 36k from 30 starting at first break.

Only notable hand I 3b a hj open with AhJx out the sb vs reg. flop J63hh, I bet 40%, call, turn 2c, I bet 90% pot, call, river 4x, I bet 7200 into 10k ish and tank fold. I think I should prob check call this combo in hindsight.

Was up to 50k by back dooring a crispy wheel but then this happened. I open to 450 with KK, recreational tries to put in 1200 3b says 'twelve thousand', ruling happens, 12k stands. I feel kinda guilty and just rip cus he seemed kinda tilted by the ruling, he counts his chips and announces call. Flips over AA. Yeye. Classic 400bb pot with KK. Down to 10k

hahah yeah there has been a lot of speculation as to whether he's monster troll or actually first time player. Either way, he got me good.

I was down to 20bb (6k from 30k starting). Won AQvKJ, then check shoved TT no heart vs the guy who angled on 972hh and got called by Q9. I held up, won a few other pots and now have 45k which is bang on average. Been a pretty rollercoaster session but obv delighted with where I'm at at dinner.

well blocking his offsuit Jx isn't great. Having the Ah is an irrelevant blocker too cus he never bluffs busted nfd's. I'd much rather just bet QQ+ and check this combo as I'm unblocking his draws that wanna bluff.

lmao, well these comments are quite conclusive. Although, i was at the table and the guy genuinely seemed like he didn't know what was going on. However, he was using pretty optimal bet sizing so who even knows. And obv he had AA, so we'll never know.

So, tournament update. I made day 2 with 40bb (40k) with average stack at 65k. I was up to 65k but had a very questionable all in for 21bb vs new nit thing who had only played 4 or 5 hands. He was chatty and irish, telling me about his family and kids, so my assumption was that he was at least pretty tight. He opens utg+1 out if 21bb (i was playing about 65bb) to 3x (this was his std open size), I have AQo next position. I could call, but then there were some 30-40bb stacks behind and the table was very 3b happy. I can't really 3b fold, although in hindsight this hand actually falls into that category very well (thoughts?) so i decide to 3b call. He ofc had KK and i felt pretty dumb. Would be keen to hear thoughts with the limited info you have on villain.

Overall i'm very happy with the way I played. I felt some frustration and tilt sneaking in - there was a spot in the last level of the day that i was strongly considering cold 4bing KTo vs an active 3bettor, but decided that chip conservation was way more important. My card distribution was truly amazing; AA, KK twice, QQ twice, JJ twice, TT, AK and AQ a few times too. Really shows how much variance there is in these things if i was dealt such good hands and still have a below average stack.

We then went out to the pokerstars party which was pretty fun. Then headed to Pacha. We book the vip section for about 25 people that came to like 3500 euros. Get into our area with wrist bands. We're there for maybe 10 minutes and suddenly there are bouncers at the back of the VIP section throwing, and when i say throwing, i mean throwing people down stairs. Mayo asked one of the bouncers wtf was going on and without responding they grabbed him and chucked him down the stairs too. Some of the guy's gf's had the same treatment. Obv at this point we're absolutely furious and in disbelief at what's happening. I go speak to the people upstairs, then the VIP manager, then the head of security and then the manager of the club. We refuse to pay and they say they'll have to call the police. We ofc want that to happen as we thought they'd have no leg to stand on. Our spanish speaking friends explain what had happened. The police say that we have no choice but to pay the bill or they'll take us all to jail and we'll have to wait in a cell for 4 days until we can see a judge. We have totally no choice but to pay the bill that the manager oh so kindly reduces by 1k€ and offers we go back into the club lol. We ofc say we're never ever coming back to this place and that we'll take the bottles and go. So the police leave and we say ok we'll go get our bottles. They then say **** off, you're not having them. One of the girls and our mate goes and talks to head of security again, who then totally blows up and says, 'yeah sure, go get them, but we'll kick the **** out of you when you're down there'. Welcome to the corruption of barcelona. Total bs
