yeah it'd be great to play with friends instead of lone wolf russians who refuse to eco.

boss.

Went to see some friends yesterday who i've not seen in a while. Always nice to see some old faces.
Did go in to Hippo and wait listed the 2/5 but really did not feel like playing so ended up having a drink or 2.
Whenever i have a bad session, the very next day i'm usually motivated to play and get out of it but yesterday i just needed a break from it and have a hard reset till the new year.

2016 Year in Review:
- Ran really bad at 1/2
- Ran good at 2/5+
- Moved to London
- Made some new poker fweends

GOALS GOALS GOALS for 2017
Poker Goals:
[ ] Play 1700 hours
[ ] Play at least 500 hours at 2/5+
[ ] Get a hendon mob/ship a timbey, would like to play more timbeys but i won't really travel around the country for this. Will the ones mainly running in London/Bham and the occasional visit to DTD(probs won't even make it past 5 for the whole entire year)
[ ] Try keep the run good going for life?
[ ] maybe venture out of LSQ to down the road
[ ] Put some studying in at least 2 hours a week

CS Goals: (for the fans)
[ ] Stop being a noob

Life Goals:
[ ] Do more travelling
[ ] I do photography as a hobby atm but would like to put more time in to this and hopefully make my own website and upload a portfolio there.
[ ] Zen mode

Can't seem to think of any more goals but yeah that's all for now.

GL everyone and Happy New Year! Bring on 2017!!

Can I suggest one more CS goal?

-learn the Crosshair placement. They don't pop out the floor.

Best of luck in 2017 for us all.

Ha, i won't invest that much time in it. I just like the strategic aspect of it compared to COD

Come back to me when you've done 1000 hours in a year.

---

First session of the new year didn't go too well. Downswongz continues!

Got rekt in this hand though.

I open A7 from UTG+2 to £15, folds to BB who calls.

Flop: K74
BB checks, i cbet £12, BB calls
Turn: 7
BB checks, i bet £35, BB calls
River: A
BB checks, i bet £100, BB calls QQ

Was good action all night but couldn't get anything to save my life.

Met up with Birdayy, GazzyB and Bena so at least i was in good company.

Started to listen to this podcast

Cheers! I'll give it a listen once i've managed to finish MDWAP. Hope the grind is going well for you.

---

Met up with Bena, Birdayy, Gazzy and Smitdude again today. We all rocked up to the casino together and 4 of us wanted to play 2/5. Unfortunately they have a rule where only two friends are only allowed on the same table zzzz. I came last on this flip so didn't get to play the 2/5 til about 3.30am.

Was on the 1/2 tables, told gazzy to come join my table and we get in this hand together:

Gazzy straddles, fun player1 limps, i raise to £20 with QQ, funplayer 2 calls, Gazzy squeezes to £65, fun player1 folds, i call and fun player 2 folds.
Flop: 954
Gazzy cbets £75, i call.
Turn: 8
Gazzy bets £120, we tank fold.

Fairly annoying spot.
Spoiler:
He showed AA, what a time to straddle

Other interesting hand.

Funplayer limps, We iso QT to £10, a eastern european reg 3bets to £25, folds to us and we call.
Flop: 567
Hero checks, reg checks back.
Turn: 8
Hero leads turn for £25, reg calls.
River: 2
Hero bets £50, reg raises to £150.

Really wanted to 3bet jam this river as i block T9 but just don't think people are bluffing enough live, plus it's a very odd line to take where he shouldn't ever really have 9x but probs will turn up with it more often than him spazzing out.
Reg also has £150 behind, had a chat with a friend and he said he prefers that the reg has £150 behind rather than £200+.

Volume is going strong but the run good is not. I don't feel too affected just yet by this downswing, couple of months ago i'd probably be having a breakdown and moving back down to 1/2 to ease the pain of the downswing. I'm feeling good about the grind despite the brutal run bad and that i'm playing fairly well.

I have been broken!!!!! Lost bags and bags again today in what was an insane 2/5 game, I've not seen a game like this in ages.

HH1:
3 limps, unicorn thing raises to £25, i 3bet to £75 with KQ (probs should 3bet bigger given how deep i was, i think it should be at least £100), first limper cold calls and the other two limpers call along. Original whale raiser folds.
Flop: Q93
First limper checks, second limper leads £65, third limper folds, i raise to £200, first limper folds and second limper jams for ~£680, i sigh snap.
Turn: T
River: 2

Villain shows 33.

HH2:
Unicorn limps BTN for £5, i call SB with K3, BB checks.
Flop: K3J
I check, BB checks, unicorn bets £10, I check raise to £40, BB folds, unicorn 3bets to £110, i tank call.
Turn: 8
I check, unicorn bets £200, i jam for ~£1.1k and unicorn sigh snap calls off.
River: 6
I show and the unicorn shows QTo and mucks.

HH3:
UTG limps, unicorn goes AI for £51, i 3b to £125 with AQ, chinese whale cold calls out the BB and UTG calls.
unicorn accidentally tables AQ
Flop: Q75
Chinese whale checks, UTG checks and i bet £125, chinese whale calls, UTG folds.
Turn: 3
Chinese whale checks, i put him ai for ~£280 and he calls off.
River: 8

I show and chinese whale tables 78.

HH4:
EE whale opens to £40, unicorn makes it £80, i cold 4b to £250 with KK, EE whale calls and unicorn calls.
Flop: K83
EE whale checks, unicorn jams for ~£1k, i go ai and EE whale snap folds.
Turn: Q
River: 4

Unicorn shows J2

Spoiler:
Think this may be the biggest pot i've ever lost £ wise.

I was so mad after the AQvs78s hand and after HH4 i just snap quit as i knew i couldn't mentally handle the session any more.

Feeling fine now though, i'm hopeful that things will turn around.

Pretty nuts. Must sting a bunch. That 78 hand :s

On the bright side you quit which is more then many would do in that spot.

This if anything highlights the variance of live. Running good/bad in these amazing games can really skew a w/r.

UL man - respect for quitting when you recognise you're on tilt, though.

Seems like you were playing well up to your last hand and you're asking the right questions about whether you could have played the hands better (rather than if you could have not lost them) so I'm sure you'll get past this downswing.

Sorry to hear it didn't go well against the reincarnated version of Hunter H Thomas/Protagonist of Black Mirror Ep 2/take your pic, was obv rooting for you to clean. The above hands are absolute filth.

FWIW I was pretty battered, I had a coat key from ages ago, and couldnt find the one I deposited on that evening. I'm a difficult person to understand enough sober, let alone after 4 corona's and a flute of champagne trying to explain to the floor staff the situation, sure the downswing will end soon bud.

Also whos/whats a unicorn lmao, also what a jokes game was begging to stay.

You win some, you lose some. Thanks pete

A unicorn is a mythical creature bigger than a whale. They make whales look like good players

---

Today was swingy af, actually it started all downhill then it went uphill lol.

HH1:
UTG limps, UTG+1 calls, CO raises to £12, BTN calls, I call from the BB with 22, UTG calls and UTG+1 calls.
Flop: J 2 4
flop checks round
Turn: A
i check intending to x/r but no it gets checked around.
River: 3
i lead for £35, UTG goes AI for £33, folds to the BTN who now makes it £70 and we fold.

UTG shows 33 and BTN shows 55.

HH2:
I open 22 to £8 UTG, MP 3bets to £16, i call.
Flop: 2 J T
I check, MP bets £30, i check jam for £80 more and he snaps
Turn: T
River: T

Lose to KK.

Alright the moans are out of the way, time for more of the interesting 2/5 spots. Unicorn came back today.

HH3:
HJ opens to £20, i flat in the CO with A 2, SB calls and Unicorn calls from the BB.
Flop: Q 3 8
Checks to me and i bet £50, fold, Unicorn calls and HJ folds.
Turn: 5
Unicorn checks, We bet £170, Unicorn check raises to £400 and we call

Spoiler:
This is a spot where i don't really know what's best and i've had a mix of answers, some have said check and some have said bet big but the problem is i don't think he folds any pair. A friend said if even if he folds 3x a small % of the time then betting becomes good.

River: 5
Unicorn checks and i snap check back
He shows Q2o and wins.

Here's a gift and a half
HH4:
CO opens to £20, i flat BTN with JT, fish calls in the BB.
Flop: J A T
Checks to me and i bet £40, BB check calls, CO folds.
Turn: 6
BB checks, I bet £125, BB calls.
River: T
BB leads £280 leaving £20 behind, i put him in for the rest and he snaps with 88.

Tl;dr Did off bags and bags at the start and found a small solid win.

Nothing too special today, just this one.

Straddle, I open KK in the HJ, Reg 3b me to £130, Fish cold calls out the BB, i make it £300, reg flats the 300, fish goes AI for £618, i rejam for £1.5k and reg folds.

Board: 75AA9

fish shows 77.

Something was different about today, i kinda just accepted that i loss the hand and was not too bothered about losing the hand. Yes it hurts but it's just variance.
Watched a biases video earlier and it corrected my thinking of constantly wanting to bring up all my badbeats/coolers and i just simply shrugged it off. I didn't want to rant about it, just posted the HH to friends and moved on.

It's nice to have a few of the london regs tell me to keep pushing throw and saying unlucky etc. as they know how bad this week has gone for me so thank you guys! It's really appreciated.

Online is fairly tough now and i'm just not willing enough to put in all that work to rise to the top.
I don't see myself playing much poker, i think i'm in this for 2 years tops so i just want to find an easier way to make money.

2/5 was pretty boring today, not much action just a couple of spots.

Had 1 interesting hand and 1 lololol hand.

We start hand ~1.4k effective
HH1:
"Reg" opens UTG to £15, Good regs 3bets to £55 from UTG+1, I cc BTN with AKo, "Reg" UTG calls.
Flop: K 2 4
"Reg" checks, GR cbets £60, I elect to call (i think should be raising sometimes), "Reg" folds.
Turn: 4
GR bets £350, i call
River: 6
GR checks
Spoiler:
River is the most interesting spot, i genuinely don't know what to do, if i should be vbetting river and if so how much. I think checking is also ok but feels kinda nitty.

HH2:
Straddle, "Reg" opens to £30, fish calls BTN, i call SB with KJ, BB calls and straddler folds.
Flop: J62
i check, BB checks, "Reg" cbets £65, fold, i xc and BB folds
Turn: K
i check, "Reg" checks.
River: 2
i lead £275, "reg" raises to £650, i think for like 20 seconds and sigh call. "Reg" shows J2
Spoiler:
lolol
Spoiler:
probs should fold river but got sucha good hand to call

I like the check, theres no point value bettings versus a perfectly polarised range and I don't think he's value-betting KQ if he's 3betting that light UTG.

I don't think we have any "bluffs" here (maybe AQdd at worst???) so think checking is super-standard here.

As played unlucky never folding, as it makes zero sense.

I like a check-raise on the river if you think he might try and value-bet QQ or AJ OTR but if you think it gets checked back a lot defo bet. I know he rocked up with the ole J2cc but when the 2s and 2h is out there its hard for him to have like A2 with a bdh draw on the flop, or the A2ss flush draw
