Cheers harvey, I'll look at it when I get home! Something bit off using my equity calculator. I do think though he's going to fold a lot (although this hand does make some sense)

Guy apparently plays NL600 online so in hindsight not the guy I should be messing with!

Met some great people out here, it's 4AM and need to check-out at 8PM.

Props to James Noonan Midstakes MTT grinder, really safe guy and super interesting to learn about the online MTT side of poker. Great guy and overall a really solid sharp guy who obviously does super well in his own format.

Also props James Simms who beasted it through bruv with J6o at an EPT and shipping the 10€ rebuy!

As standard going to grind my way through night and pack up my **** and leave

Currently grinding my way out of a 3k trip hole in a passive £1/£2 gonna need some luck, doesn't help that I'm waiting for a table either!

Won a nice bit on a £2/£5 table earlier. Asking if every single eastern european reg is OTBEedBaron never gets old either...

Will post final trip report on airplane back vamoooooooooos

Trip Report

Apart from my results obviously, I had a really fun trip. Bulgaria despite first impressions is a pretty cool country, albeit only visiting a tiny fraction of it (its flipping huge). Cheap drinks, cheap nights out, cheap accommodation, casino right on a sick beach. Not much more to say really!

Similar to the Malta trip, I met tons of interesting people from all over the world, from Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta and even a few local grinders. This was by far and away the best aspect of the trip, to network with other poker players on very different paths to my own. The whole experience or festival or whatever is a bit odd; its run by 10-12 pretty crazy eastern europeans and populated with "sponsored pro's", local punters, semi-pros and actual really good solid online and live pros. The general idea though is to get together, play some cash games and check out the sights in a bunch of different countries.

The events if I'm honest were a bit **** compared to last time especially for 200€ for 4 days. There was some snorkelling day on Sunday, which involved getting a free bus to some random beach, handing out like 10 snorkels and setting us off. I'm a pretty chill guy, but not what I expected really, maybe at least a boat or some beers or something (?)

Anyway back to the poker; for people like Scorpp it's potentially a good place to grind FT. Expenses super low, £2/£5 super juicy when it runs, place is full of tourists, relatively reg-free. When I was speaking to the dealers it seems its a bit seasonal unfortunately, so probably would need to mix in online poker during winter etc. If it weren't for the insane rake at 1/3 (5% capped at 25€) I think though it would be do-able as it does play quite deep.

As per usual all a bit #sadface about going back to work especially as basically everyone I met was either a travelling grinder or did sports betting or similar. Big shout-out again to the online guys I met out there; bit of a broken record but met some super interesting people. One thing you do learn is that crushers definitely haven't always been crushers; even the best cash game pros have been at some pretty bad lows in their career and listening to their stories gave me confidence to get back on the horse and grind through the downswing and learn from my mistakes.

Same as last time really encourage any live grinders to go to one of these things. The games were really good, the expenses are nothing (taxi and flights the main ones) and its a fantastic opportunity to check out a country you'd never otherwise visit. Dunno what more I can say really just go haha

tl;dr english 9-5 punter does his money in eastern european country and has a few drinks

Awesome trip report pete Pleasure to read, they do seem pretty cool ngl, definitely something I may look at doing if I get into live cash somewhat seriously.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Bulgaria reports. I've also been to Bulgaria and had a similiar first impression. I think a lot of it is due to things being in cyrillic so my brain auto thought I'm in Siberia or some other ****hole.

Thanks as usual man ; ) think you've seen a bit with croatia yourself though! One thing I will tell you is do recommend Malta; really is an amazing mecca of a place for poker players, such a cool place too (too damn hot in July and August though)

Thanks man appreciate it! Yeah only got better from first day; I will say that Sunny Beach still is a little bit of a hole, but other areas like Nessebar are much nicer with actual culture and architecture! Agree RE: accent haha

Quality trip report sir, ul on the results but was good reading!

I'd been looking at doing one of the weekend things run by a pokertravel site where you play X hours across the weekend, get accomodation free at various european casinos, but the choices are limited. Would you say a few days in Bulgaria/Malta is worth doing if there was no festival at the time too (if you have any experience of this), or if it's significantly better for the organised weekends?

Its hard to tell because of the limited experience but go for it, you'll have a great time! Malta consistently bad for live poker from what I've been told. Bulgaria I think has potential, but rake is very high despite cheap expenses. I think someone like yourself would love it out there so give it a go!

Temporary Hiatus

I'm going to switch over to another thread for a month which will solely focus on Online Poker!

Goal will be to grind 25k hands at NL25. Giraffes daily and top 3 biggest hands, and any spew.

Actions speak louder than words, so if I don't meet the challenge (starting at 00:00 GMT finishing 17/09/2018) I will be giving away a ticket to the Pokerstars Sunday Millions; needless to say I've made worse donations before.

Not exactly keen on people just mindlessly spamming, but think posting "in" or similar in the new thread is the best way to avoid absolute randomers getting a chance. You must also have more than 50 posts to qualify! I'll put the thread together tomorrow

Nice idea with the zoom challenge, you'll do it im sure (as well as learn a lot) but in case something ends up happening I'm in for the degenament.

Legit hope you complete the challenge, always admire your drive to study and improve, has to be above and beyond the ethic of most 9to5ers

Just subbing here after seeing ur 25nlz thread.

Need to make some more trips to London to play. My best friend was at London Met for the past three years and it makes me annoyed that I didn't make the trip up to grind even once. I guess having a new kid will do that.
