I am a 21 year old college student attending the University of New Orleans. I'll be playing primarily at the Harrahs but I will also be playing at the Beau in Biloxi. I will be posting updates after most if not all of my sessions and playing sessions 2-4 times a week. My bankroll is actually starting at 4600 and I'd love the support and opinions on hands I post to help me improve and keep me focused. Thanks in advance to anyone who may do that!

Thanks Potluckneeded
@Ballerholic I did a small challenge which I didn't record other than poker tracker. Went from $100 to 1k playing micro cash on ignition. I don't play anymore. If I started again it would be solely to keep my game sharp.

First session at the Beau Rivage went great. No hands of great interest except I ran a 4 bet bluff with A4hh continued 33% pot on a 25h8 flop turned the 10h for the back door flush draw. Shoved the turn and got a fold. I know there isn't great need to run these bluffs in 1/3 games but sometimes I can't help myself. I enjoy higher level thinking in games and like to think I'm capable of changing my game to fit the game I'm in as well as the opponent/s im against. Good start to the challenge. Excited for another session to come.

Had another winning session last night. I played at the Pensacola dog track and put together a $211 win. Plan is to play in the 25k guarantee tournament today at the Beau Rivage. Maybe put up a big score!

Ended up buying into the tourney twice and busting out both times bringing my day to a -$490. Probably a little outside of my bankroll to do this but both tables I played at were pretty soft and I felt my edge in the game was enough to give it a shot. Back to cash games for a while.

Session 4 at the Pensacola Greyhound track was a kind of weird one. I started in 1/2 and lost a little but the game was awful and I decided to jump in the 5/5 Big O game. The 1/2 game got better later and I ended up hoping back and forth for the night. Long story short I booked a win of $656 with most of my winnings coming from the Big O game.

Run good continues. Had a very up and down session. Was actually up about $1800 until I ran a huge bluff in the 2/5 game that started as a 1/2. I had AdQh and 3 bet the buttons $25 raise to $115 because the small blind called as well with 2 limpets. Flop KT6 two diamonds and I cbet $125 into about $260. He calls and we see the T of diamonds on the turn. Gives me nut straight and flush draw. I decided to check with intention to check raise because I think I'd get a fold out of everything except a T. He bets $225 into $510 and I check raise to $700. He tanks for a long time and calls. Rivers a blank and I am faced with the decision to continue bluffing on the river for about $900 more. I think he will fold all of his draws like QJ one diamond and maybe a weak T. I don't know if it was the best decision but I go for it and after 3-4 min of tanking he calls with T8s. Thoughts on the hand would be great. Anyways I still booked a win of about $300. Could have been a lot better if it weren't for this bluff.

Another good session at the Beau Rivage. Booked an $870 win and really no notable hands. I was in a great game with 2 people giving a lot of action and the rest of the table was pretty passive and wasn't going to do anything out of the ordinary. Also spent $200 on my girlfriends plane ticket so if you are tracking my bankroll, that's where the missing $200 is. I try to not touch my bankroll for anything besides poker but I made an exception this time.

Another crazy session. Ended up booking a 2400 win playing 2/5. They have had a great game and I couldn't resist despite being under roller for 2/5. Looks like I am getting in that range now that I can play 2/5. Wasn't expecting to double my roll in the first week. I will have to remember this when I start to run bad.

Yea man, the biggest thing is getting to know your table. There are no HUDs or anything so try to label the players as a nit, reg, or fish and adjust your game to their play style. Also you will be playing many many more multi way pots so you will have to become comfortable adapting to this. It will take some time getting a feel to live play styles.

Following. I played a lot in college and while I was a winning player I always had to dip into my poker roll for life expenses. That was by far the hardest part about running it up for me.

Now as a young guy with a day job I'm able to keep it segregated and have recently moved from 1/2 to 2/5. Check out my PGC thread for more on that.

Try and structure your hand histories a bit easier to read with a separate line for each street. Will be easier to give feedback on them.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll be following. Yea I might have a difficult time keeping it separate since in college I won't be working a job as well. I hope I have budgeted the correct amount of money to last me the school year. I'll definitley structure the hand histories in a more readable fashion in the future. Goodluck to ya

Ok so I am really unhappy to make this post. I have had 2 losing seasons equaling up to about $1000. Which isn't a big deal it happens. If you realize my bankroll is 12,700 and that is because I chased my losses at the craps table and was actually close to crippling my bankroll before hitting big and collecting a lot of cash. I decided I'm going to leave the money in the bankroll but I need to avoid doing this in the future and degening all my bankroll. I'm going to take a week off as penalty and not do this going forward.
