Long but very productive day!

Woke up at 8 am.
Me and two mates went for a hike in the Belgian Ardennes.
Weather was brilliant but maybe a bit too warm.
We did a solid 16k tour around the Amblève river.
Some steeper parts in the beginning and the end tho, totalling about 320m in elevation gain.

Also spotted this nice castle

As I need to start preparing for my next trip to Sweden I offered my mates to carry all the water and snacks etc.
All went pretty fine Pace was pretty high as it only took us a bit more than 4 hours.
After the 2h ride home and a rather large meal at the chip shop ("Frituur") I was pretty damn tired.
Was around 9pm after I had taken a bath etc and passed out on my bed.
Slept untill 11h30pm or so and felt like playing some pokers.

I'm trying to up the volume a bit this month.
Think I played for 2.5 hours mostly 8 tabling.
Had a very good session winning 8 buy ins!
Built a huge stack at one table.

This one guy totally lost his composure and started spewing around.
I remember stacking him back to back hands with TJ, flopping 2p
Also stacked him with JJ vs J6o pfai...

Decent month so far. Up a bit over €430.
Also finally won a €4 Belgian Championship satty...
Have €44 in tickets, so still a long way to go, but one can only try right.

Cheers guys

Still doing real good in the cashgames lately
Had a fun session on 10NL earlier today.
Some reg called "Wieselman" really lost his composure versus me.
Hit some hands, ran some complex bluffs,...

Yearly profit surpassed €2000 today
Some pizza, some good pot and poker.
Definitely not the worst Saturday!

I'm also still in some donkaments, let's keep on rocking

Obviously preflop in. Blinds were 400/800 I think.
13 left and €236 for first. Have average stack

Also approaching the bubble in the €10 deepstack tourney but I'm currently last with just under 10bb.
Time to gamba some more there
Already shoved Q3, K9s otb but never got picked off!

Pokerwise I've been sailing through some stormy waters the last couple weeks.
June started of great as I was up €300 or so pretty quickly.

Had over 30 buy ins in my account so I took a "shot" at 25NL.
Got smacked brutally by variance on Wednesday the 14th.
I remember having lost 4 times with QQ vs AA preflop all in.
Considering the aggressive state of the games it's just a standard cooler.
I don't think I should have played it slower.
Also had plenty of other beats.
Long story short. I had my worst day of the year as I lost around €295
I was also tilted as ****. Making me withdraw €200.

Anyway, I had still had €280 in the account so went back to grinding 10NL.
I've also been participating in the "community league".
This is a small tournament series with €4 and €10 buy ins.
Couple days ago I finished second in of those MTT's for €60.
I also took a 4th place the week prior.

The awards for the leaderboard is as follows:

Definitely good extra value!
I also have a pretty big edge on most of the players.

Today I bubbled in 7th place in what was probably the biggest MTT of the series, the €600 GTD.
I got it in preflop 3 way for a massive pot with AA.
Was up against TT and AKh. T on the flop...
If I had won that hand I'm pretty sure I would have finished at least top 3
Nonetheless I took some important points.
Prior to today's event I was second in the standings and I think I should still be top 3...
Tomorrow is the last event of the series, a €10 rebuy PLO event.

I've also been playing a bunch of 10NL last couple days but running cold...
Lost 2 big pots today where I flopped a straight and got it in against set.
Both times they filled up. KK into AA. That kinda stuff.
Resultswise I'm still doing okay tho.
I'm up exactly €2.291 for the year.
Maybe this year I can reach the 5K goal.

But poker has also been consuming a lot of energy.
I definitely won't be playing much in July.
On the 14th I'm leaving for Sweden for my annual hiking trip.
I'm going to do a 160K trip in Sarek, one of the most remote places in Europe.
The river delta's are of exceptional beauty there, but it's gonna be very tough.
I'm also planning on climbing Skierffe (1179m) and Laddebakte (1537m).

So from next weekend on my focus is gonna be on getting my gear finetuned.

Had a very tiring week as both Monday and Tuesday I have been programming untill past 1 am.
But the good news is I completed another module

I've been working pretty hard the last few weeks, so now it's time to chill and 420 blaze it

Yikes! At least you're doing well in the Community league.

LOL @ that vape machine Uhren posted. It's a ****ing monster! My little Smok machine (with its sad little 2ml tank and a battery that runs out after about 30 puffs) would run away if it saw that. Don't do drugz, kids!

Yeah, the outdoors rocks man! It's very intense and calming.
And look at that scenery...
Here's the google earth view from the top of Laddebakte:

Went for a pretty lengthy run today.
Did 11K in around 1h05m which is pretty ****ing decent
Also no aches or something, so physically I feel well prepared.

After a crazy F1 race I started the pokers.
Once again it was a pretty ****ing mental session.
I started of getting doomswitched like crazy against massive fishes.
One guy was literally limp-calling any hand and basicly any sizing.
But he was hitting like crazy...
I remember a hand where he limped the button and I popped it to 12.5 (!) big blinds from the sb with AA.
Flop comes K3x and I check raise all in.
280bb pot and he has K3o...
Kept running bad, also in some €10 tournaments.
Got it in pre with AA and lose against AKs for massive pot...
Also no luck in the community PLO event.

Was down €80 or €90 but started another cash game session.
This time I was on the right side of variance and I stacked a bunch of (overaggro) regs.
Also won a massive pot with rivered quads!

I open pre, __ili__ flats and AcesOfSteel 3bets.
Easy call because we are all so deep.
I lead flop for a bit over half pot.
__ili__ flats and the other guy folds.
At the turn I'm thinking it's pretty gross to get bet/jammed on.
I opt to check/call. He bets like 3/4 pot.
At the river I'm left with a bit over pot.
I'm not sure what to do and I timebank jam.
I think we might loose alot of value if we check here. He snapped
Ended up winning €13 or so...
Not loving these swings, but it could be worse I guess.

I'll probably end up 4th in the community leaderboard.
Should award me €110 which is decent.

Good night folks

66 < KQ gg!

Have only played like 1 session this month prior to tonight.
Lost few buy ins at 10NL and got kinda annoyed.
But tonight's little score obviously easily makes up for that.
It was nice to finally have some rungood
Anyway, I have been focusing on preparing for my hike in Sarek, Sweden
I'm getting a bit nervous, because conditions are looking pretty bad.
And already in itself it is a very demanding and bit dangerous trip.

Long time no update, so here we go.

Unfortunately my hiking trip in Sweden didn't go as planned.
The route I wanted to complete was a bit too ambitious.
I was the only one starting at Suorva in a bus packed with only hikers, mainly Swedes.
I remember some of them looking at me like "whaat?" when I got of the bus.

The terrain was pretty ****ing insane at times.
First day I had to bushwhack trough thick birch forest and climb alongside and over gigantic boulders, some of them like one storey tall.
Then I gained elevation (around 950m) and then came the boulder fields.
Crossing a boulder field requires a lot of focus and I really needed my trekking poles to work my way through them.
All of them are covered with moss and often wet.
It's easy to snap an ankle.

It had been snowing alot very late this year, just a few days before my arrival, and as a result there was also way more melting water.
I did a couple river crossings, but at times I really felt like it was too dangerous.
On day 1 and day 2 I walked for 10 hours with very few breaks and was still behind schedule.
Then I got a fever on day 3.
Weather was pretty atrocious after day 2.
I was pretty well prepared for heavy rain, but still it takes a toll.
One big issue I had was the raging wind which was making so much noise I couldn't properly sleep at night.

The last river crossing I did could have been fatal with a bit of bad luck.
I turned back at the first point where I tried to cross, because water was almost up untill my waist there and the current was pretty strong.
A bit further up stream the river was wider and a bit less deep.
Water was like 10cm above my knees but the main issue was the surface of the bottom.
It was covered with all sort of sharp edged rocks.
Some would tumble a bit if a stepped on them and they were all slippery as hell.
So I had to be very cautious and it took me over 10minutes to cross the river. It was like 25 metres wide.
If you slip in that kinda river and you are so lucky to not hit a rock chances are still slim that you are able to get up...
Offcourse halfway through, there is no turning back...

On day 5 the weather got even worse and I also got a bit hypothermic.
Physically I think I could still go on, but mentally I was pretty much drained.
I also realised that I was forced to take too many risks in order to complete the trip.
So I tapped out and sent an SOS with my sattellite phone.
Like 80 minutes later a helicopter came to pick me up.
It was a 25 minute flight to the nearest hospital.

Bit dissapointed, but also happy to make it out safely and unharmed.
Anyway, long story. Feel free to ask me more questions if some of you are interested.

I wanted to upload a few pics but can't seem to find a properly working upload client...
You can always PM and I can probably mail the pictures in a zip or something...

Hadn't had much time in July to play poker, but still booked a reasonable profit of €220. I did cashout a bunch tho, €750 in total...
My trip did cost me quite a few extra €€€ so after getting back I've been playing almost every day.
On average like 2h or 2.5h a day.
Because of the cashouts I only had €183 at the start of the month.
Had to play 4NL for a couple days, but quickly got the bankroll back to €300 ish.

The last few days I've been on a bit of a hotrun
But also I think the games are a bit softer because of the summer holidays.
I see alot of wannabe overaggro non believing regs.
I am up over 19 buys ins on 10NL in my last 3 sessions

Yesterday I had probably my best session of the year:

One fun hand versus a wannabe reg:
We are 3 handed and I defend Q9s.

I think I played it pretty much perfect but villain really should learn to fold.
What bluffs can I have lol??
T9 is the only possible hand I could have that he can beat, but it's highly unlikely I would play T9 this aggro.

Also the 3bet calls and the trying to float is getting pretty absurd at times.
In another hand I 3bet KQ from the bb vs btn open.
I go for the good 'ol bet, bet, ship on a 678K7 runout.
River felt a bit thin, but he snapped and tabled K4, well played sir
I was expecting herocalls from hands like A8/55/99/TT/JJ/KJ etc but K4?
I'll take it.

Let's hope we can keep up the good run
Year to date profit is at €3060 now.
Anyway, today I've been real busy with programming, preparing for my next test.
This ADO module is pretty tough, but I'm getting there I think.

Peace guys
