Thanks for the encouragement. I know that downswings are only temporary... but I hate them just as much every single time they happen. And I really think Rush has more variance than normal 6-max tables. So I am swinging all over the place. But as long as I am trending upwards, the swings are just part of the game.
It might not be rush though. In the past, I would play 2k-8k hands in a month (purely recreational play with 1-3 tables for a couple hours after work). Now I am putting in more volume than that in under a week and beating my slow months in under two days. With that many hands, I am going to see a lot more bad beats (as well as give a lot more) each week than I would see before.
And some of it's not pure bad beats either... I've run
really bad with top or middle set against combo draws. Four times I've had a set against someone who shoved the flop with an open-ended straight and a flush draw. I lost 3 of the 4. Those aren't really bad beats since they are pretty close (58-42 according to PokerStove for one of the hands I just pulled). Still, that's a little more than a buy-in right there...
Anyway... volume, volume, volume... and I'll wait for a real sample size before I start getting too upset about stuff like that.
Thanks again for the kind words.
