1) I can certainly see both parts of the story make some sense here, but I do think jamming is better than folding. It's a bit worrying that we are ~150 deep but I'm pretty sure we've all seen regs turn up w weird stuff/overplays in these spots before and it will happen again and again, out of memory I had a similar spot earlier this week where BB cold 4betted 99 while having tight stats over a decent sample.

2) If plan was to triple this your flop sizing is too big as turn SPR is weird for getting in 2 more bets. Just make it like 33/33/rest, or bet bigger on flop so we can jam turn for like 3/4 pot. Prob doing the first option vs regs and the second option vs fish.

3) This is interesting, mainly cus it's 3way. Problem w flatting flop is UTG checking back turn w draws so we're giving away one street of free equity. Problem w jamming flop is we should only get called by sets/straight, that being said it's prob the best option at these stakes as many regs will call off overpairs/draws too. Another option as the hand played out w still being 3w ott is donk jamming ourselves, as I don't expect BB to have us beat v often. UTG, depending on his stats, shouldn't have many sets/straight combos either.

KK call the 4bet and jam blank flops over a cbet.
AK plan your bet sizing more, either make it a turn or river jam.
I don't really like donking flop with 33 but it's okay I guess.

I think if I hadn't been on a bit of a downswing I wouldn't have folded the KK. In saying that, I think I won a few buy ins during that session but I haven't checked my results for a bit so I'm not sure where I stand for the month so far.

In other news I will be moving some of my volume to Party Poker. I was looking around at various training sites and possible coaching options to take my game forward now that I'm playing 6max and hoping to move up. Eventually I signed up for Alan Jackson's no cash coaching for a couple of reasons:

1) I like the way Alan uses HEM so well to analyse his game and it's the kinda thing that I think works well for me
2) It's Free!!!

Looking for help with a quick maths question as it's been a while since I've done any. I know a 2/3 pot bet only requires 40% folds to be profitable but how much would that drop in a spot where we have 18% equity?

Assuming we always realise precisely 100% of that equity and villain never raises:

Let pot = 1 for simplicity

EV = P(fold) + P(call)*EV(call)
= P(fold) + (1-P(fold))*((0.18*7 - 2)/3)
= P(fold) + (1-P(fold))*(-0.247)
= P(fold) - 0.247 + 0.247(P(fold))
= 1.247*P(fold) - 0.247

Therefore, where EV = 0 and we break even

1.247*P(fold) = 0.247
P(fold) = 0.1981

P(fold) = 19.81%

Hmmm, if I keep running like this I'm gonna have to start a 'Moving Down' thread. Tables were super fishy tonight for some reason but I lost a ton.

Don't really wanna keep tarding up my thread with hands like these but I think it will put my results in some sort of context when I post them at the end of the month. I think the thing I'm finding most frustrating is that the tables seem to be fishier than ever for some reason and yet I'm getting absolutely killed at the moment.

My plan was actually to start adding in some 50nl tables from the beginning of next month but unless things turn around pretty quickly I'll probably stay at 25nl for a bit longer.

I think you can just sigh-fold a few more rivers, people tend to have the nuts at the micros (or indeed small stakes) when they raise rivers.

Yeah my normal game involves folding to river raises a ton unless I have something close to the nuts but against whales I tend to give them a bit less credit.

I don't usually take a line like this with no equity. Villain is a reg and my plan was to rep the flush draw if called but it's a very awkward spot on the river when he's called that turn as it's looking pretty likely he has it. I'd expect him to be re-raising the flop with sets.

Yeah I agree it's spew. Villain had a very high fold to raise so I think raising is possibly fine but if he calls then I should just give up.

So I've decided to totally rebuild my game. It may sound a little strange given my winrate last year but I think it's a good thing to do with my change of game and also with the idea of moving up. It's probably not going to be as dramatic as it sounds though as many things seem to be working fine (well maybe not this month....).

So I've started today with preflop and I've gone over my opening ranges and on the whole it looks fine apart from A2s - A9s utg. Not sure if there's just some variance involved there as they are profitable in MP but I'll look into them in a bit more detail. As things stand I'm currently playing aroung 24/19 at the moment.

Next step will be to check out my cold calling ranges, isolating and 3bet ranges before moving on to flop play

Funnily enough they're fine in FR so there's no reasons they shouldn't be at 6 max. It's probably a sample size issue.
