Long time no post. I hit a mid month losing streak in August and had no motivation to update. Anyways, nl600 kicked my butt and I'm a big loser there so far. Here's my graph since mid August:

I'm back. Got murdered August-October. Almost hit 5 figure make up.

I really struggled @ 2/5 and 3/6. But on the positive side, I broke through 1/2 and got a taste of 2/4.

Something that needs to improve for 2k17 is hours. I feel like I need to put in at least 1.5x hours more in 2k17 than I did in 2k16 as I am a backed player.

Hoping for a successful 2k17. I want to make 2/4 my bread and butter, break through 2/5, 3/6, and get to 1knl ASAP.

I plan on putting in about 160 hours in January.

Not the way I wanted to start of 2k17, but what can I do. It's been an absurd past couple of days. Been pretty frustrated and probably punted off about 3-4 buy ins. I can say my mental game has improved quite a ton the past couple of years, but lately I've been cursing at my monitor non stop. I even smashed a can of black beans so hard I made a dent in it...



































On a positive note, I have played about 45 hours of my 160 goal for the month.

good fold on the Ak there last hand. keep your head up and realize this is the price you pay for playing poker competitively at your level. When you get to 5/10 and 10/20 you will look at this and chuckle.

I watched a 40 minute live play video from one of the coaches. Something to take away from it is his mental approach to the game. He got shown a bluff in a semi big pot. I think most(including myself) would be a bit tilted to be honest. We would want some revenge and play a looser range just to get back at villan. Instead, he jots down some notes, reminds himself not to over adjust, and next time call down a bit wider vs villan.



Anyways, I'm not playing well or running well at the moment. Currently around -$4k in make up. I'm going to exclude 2/4 and 3/6 for now, and just grind 1/2 for the moment because:

Can likely chalk up at least some of that diff btwn 1/2 and 2/4 to be running good lower and running poorly higher (and probably not playing as well when the stress of extra money is involved maybe? What do the ev winrates look like? nothing wrong with moving down to regain some confidence though. gl

most of those hands don't really have any tough decisions or anything to learn from. i don't really love the overbet jam with the 78 even vs a fish, and the AJ is kinda meh spot, calling isn't awful as obv we are getting a great price and maybe sometimes they show up with some goofy JK or something but i don't really see any worse for value or bluffs choosing this sizing in this spot tbh. but yeah nothing much to learn from those other hands.

i would bet that king river on your JTs hand at 1/2. I would also bet turn with your 45s on 5 turn at 1/2.
I thought you were sticking with just 1/2 for awhile? Keep your head up!
