Also lol @ the fruit after a bowl of chips. Nut worst advice to add in sugar after eating bad fats.

Edit: oh forgot, GL jdawg, been following all your pgc's! One of the most interesting for sure.
Theres not enough studies to prove yet that coke zero is healthier.

Having an extra 150-200 calories a day from a coke with regular sugar is probably the wisest choice if you're not gonna cut it out completely. Also it taste better so if you're gonna **** yourself up at least do it with style.

Then again why are you giving health advices if you're drinking 1 coke a day?

a fatty can be a lot more healthy than a 1 a day 100 pound coke drinker

let me blow your mind. You say you drink coke because your meals are boring? learn to cook.
let me blow your mind even harder
you could even fresh press a bunch of fruits together. That **** taste just as good as your best bag of chips or soda

please refrain from posting horrible health advice again.

Once again, i will be cooking for Jdawg for at least the next 6 months so there will be no fad diets going on. Main thing were working on now is a daily probiotic, forcing him to eat early to avoid night pigouts, and lots of lettuce, broccoli and kale if we can ever find it. If you guys want to offer some actual advice Ill give you an idea of what his diet is gonna be and you can offer critique. If you want to argue over diets that he's never going to incorporate then your time is prob better spent in health and fitness or some other forum.

Usually first thing in the morning we try to eat mixed fruit and take the probiotic. Gonna add a prebiotic once he's been on the pro for a few weeks. Then a few hours later a larger heartier breakfast. Usually bacon or sausage, eggs and some kind of non white toast. Obv this isnt the healthiest thing in the world but if youre gonna eat it early morning is best and were transitioning slowly.

Lunch is usually a romaine salad with carrots, sprouts bell peppers, baked chicken breast and occasonally cheese. Prob substitute turkey sandwhich with lettuce and sprouts at times. Usually make as a later snack make smoothie using granola, bananas, sberries, blueberries, mango and soy or almond milk. With a touch of ginger added for digestion Again, not the best thing for weightloss but were transitioning here. Will add kale or spinach when we can get it. Wide variety of stuff for dinner. Stir fried steak and broccli with quinoa and brown rice is a standard. Do chicken instead of steak occasionally. Also do a decent amount of salmon or white fish with broccoli and the same rice. Shrimp expensive as **** down here atm but do a decent amount of stir fry with that as well. Will do some pastas with red meat sauce and bread on semicheat days, though try and do those on days when dinner is eaten earlier. Also usually do a weekly beef potroast with carrots, pots and onions and have it to heat up on days we dont have time to cook something fresh up.

As far as exercise we've been shooting hoops for 20 to 30 minutes a day. Hes gonna intoduce some cardio in the gym once the weekend mega grind is over. And in a week or so prob do some super lightweight lifting (more resistance stretching than anything) and eventually transition to actual lifting.

Honestly some of these extreme diets and exercise routines are fine for people who need to lose 5 lbs for their 6 pack or finish up 18 months of lifting to bulk up. But for someone transitioning from unhealthy eating and inactivity it's about small changes and minimizing the chances of regressing.

jfc @ the diet advice in here

1) download my fitness pal and log everything. It's a pain in the ass for a couple of weeks but simple after that.
2) weigh yourself every morning after you piss and found out what your calorie maintenance is.
3) eat less than that.

seeing as you make good bank why not sub bacon for turkey bacon? Bacon is at least 50x worse for the human body than standard red meat.

Jdawg do you like spicy food? Ask your chef to put more chilis. Not only are chilis super healthy, they curb your appetite and also they kill more micro-cancer cells than almost all other spices.

Turkey bacon a good idea Mr. punctuation, ill prob start mixing that in. I love spicy and OP can normally handle it. But with his recent stomach issues Im trying to reduce the chances of indigestion as much as possible.

i like it and its awesome that you're being a good accountabilibuddy

the only thing i would vaguely critique is the smoothie as i feel like it's just a lot of fruit and it doesnt strike me as productive to just pound a lot of fruit sugars, stick some more kale and spinach in that bad boy for dat fiber

Anything even relatively hot snap puts me into a gallbladder attack. Didn't do spicy that well before stomach problems just to give an even better idea

Same idea goes for anything caffeine related, hence why the very small amount of soda I drink (essentially only allowing myself soda or alcohol anytime I'm eating out) is coca cola light as regular coke gives me a stomach ache after about 2 gulps. Same thing for my teas, both daytime and nighttime are decaf

But yea, anything spicy, acidic, with caffeine and ****, idk, probs a few more things I'm not thinking of atm are off the table

Yeah Clayton I def agree that the smoothies are the most glaring leak in the current diet. I think it's somewhat defensible given that detoxing from alcohol, soda and other sweets is gonna be giving him some major sugar cravings. And there are a lot worse ways he can be feeding that craving. But Im with you, ideally right now Id be transitioning away from the strawberries and mangoes and be moving it more towards greens. Im a big fan of blueberries so gonna leave them in and prob leave bananas in for a while.

Just so hit and miss with spinach and kale down here. Im going up to LA in a week so gonna try and bring down some wheatgrass powder. Also have put some feelers out to the local market to add some more greens so hopefully that pans out.

Sherfy lives in the building and makes a lot of US runs so might get him to smuggle us down some leaf

he doesn't have to plug all his leaks at once, cutting out soda+alchyhol is big and fine for the first months until he feels like its time to go more healthy

I just hit the granola hipster all natural grocery store and it seems like theres ton of almost healthy sodas available even coke flavored.

My favorite snack right now is hemp/raisin snack bars. Usualy those healthy bars are dry but wow those new ones are insanely soft and juicy.

anyways if you can't handle chilis, can you handle curcuma or ginger? Spray that over most of your meals. Most people can't even taste a tea spoon of curcuma inside their eggs. If i remember right curcuma is the spice with the most health benefits. Ginger really helps with anything related to the stomach/intestins.

An other thing to consider is asian marinades on the red meat. It cuts the negative health impact by up to 50% while keeping it savory. That way you can keep eating a lot of your beloved meat.

+1 this works for me

To loose fat you just have to adjust your carbs. If you work out a little bit, you must eat : - 2g of protein per kg (so if you weight 100kg, you need to eat 200g of protein).
- 1g of fat per kg
- adjust the carbs to be in a deficit of calories

Example : you weight 100kg and you know that you need 3000calories to maintain you weight :
- 2g/kg of protein ==> 200g so 800 calories
- 1g/kg of fat ==> 100g so 900 calories
- for the carbes (3000 - 800 - 900 ) = 1300 calories of carbes so (1300/4) = 325g of carbs

Then when you don't loose weight anymore for like 2 weeks, you can cut 200calories of carbs and start again. Again if you don't loose weight anymore, you cut 200calores and so on and so forth.

That's for the macro, then you have to drink at least like 2liters or 3 of water, green tea is also a pretty good drink ( it increase your metabolism,...). And you have to eat a lot of veggies with your meal.
I think it's a good start for you to become healthier and begin to loose some weight
Good luck !

Have to chime in too, wish you all the best.
Cut the carbs/move more(walks, jogs, ride a bike w/e)/good fats and you'll get there. **** soda and junk, step by step. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
