Changed my mind about not updating.

Here's my results for the year so far. I think around hand 172k is where I stopped updating the thread (maybe February?). Wasn't playing very well, running pretty badly and was in a bad place in general.
Especially sucked since I just paid for coaching from someone whose coaching style didn't really fit in with me. Kind of a waste of money, heh. Grindtilted & lifetilted = feelbadman.

So I toyed around with being a tournament reg for a little while during February, but man, the hours you have to put in consecutively is ridiculous. Just had no stamina for that. Started playing PLO again in March with a new outlook on things and that's pretty much when the upswing began.

Let's try to update this more often.

Prob my biggest pot of the year so far in BB and in $

BTN: $1,087.53
SB: $490.55
BB: $243.87
Hero (UTG): $991.90
MP: $541.95
CO: $400.00

SB posts SB $2.00, BB posts BB $4.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $6.00) Hero has K 6 K 9

Hero raises to $14.00, MP raises to $44.00, fold, BTN calls $44.00, fold, BB calls $40.00, Hero raises to $222.00, fold, BTN calls $178.00, BB raises to $243.87 and is all-in, Hero calls $21.87, BTN calls $21.87

Flop: ($777.61, 3 players) 2 5 7
Hero bets $748.03 and is all-in, BTN calls $748.03

Turn: ($2,273.67, 3 players) A

River: ($2,273.67, 3 players) 3

Hero shows K 6 K 9 (Flush, King High)

BTN shows 5 8 6 7 (Two Pair, Sevens and Fives)

BB mucks 4 Q 4 3 (Straight, Five High)

Hero wins $1,496.06
Hero wins $774.61

Also was inspired by Michel Angelo aka Sweet summer child aka the greatest PLO player aka zoja to play some 1kpl. First time playing 5/10 in a loooong time. Felt weirdly comfortable since the whole table was sitting 60bb or less deep heh. And ofc, the first time I play, I do something stupid like this.
Oops.

BTN: $619.20
SB: $438.68
Hero (BB): $1,000.00
CO: $395.00

SB posts SB $5.00, Hero posts BB $10.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $15.00) Hero has K K 2 4

fold, fold, SB calls $5.00, Hero raises to $30.00, SB calls $20.00

Flop: ($60.00, 2 players) 3 J A
SB checks, Hero bets $35.10, SB calls $35.10

Turn: ($130.20, 2 players) 6
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($130.20, 2 players) Q
SB bets $109.40, Hero raises to $456.90, SB calls $264.18 and is all-in

Hero shows K K 2 4 (One Pair, Kings)
(Pre 60%, Flop 23%, Turn 13%)
SB shows A K T 6 (Straight, Ace High)
(Pre 40%, Flop 77%, Turn 88%)
SB wins $875.86

nice update z0mg, was interested at the start of the thread as I was just taking up PLO and you seemed to move straight from NL and get good results.

great turn around from March, would be interested to hear how your outlook changed? was it outlook on life/ poker/ playing less tables/ making changes to your strategy

hope you keep on the upswing

Ya, not gonna lie, ran really good when I started (that's how the PLO gods get you I guess)

It was mainly not being life-tilted in general that I changed and realising that it's okay to lose. It was definitely not playing less tables haha, I think I play more now than before

Thanks!

----

Playing a ton of hands today, won a bit back on the day but that session still felt like a loss. Maybe cause I just couldn't get anything good going.

-$2.1k on the day, played 5.7k hands *____*

yeh i find the swings tricky to handle even at microstakes

no idea how you manage to win playing so many tables at PLO though I two table normal tables and it takes me a good few seconds trying to work out the hands, nicely done

That will change when you get more familiar with the game and have put more work in off the table. Just keep doing what your doing and don't overdue it at the beginning, it's more important to learn early rather than make money.

Also killer graph, I had assumed you were done with the updates for good.

Already took a huge chunk of my roll off Stars and the past week it's only been about 1/3rd of my volume. I'll play wherever there are tables, tbh.
I've been playing a bunch on Party but it's hella reggy, idk if the rakeback is even worth it.

I'm likely just going through a good patch right now. Winning = tilt-free = a lot easier to multitable I think. Thanks

This was Friday only. Definitely played for too long that day, then had my session cut short when good tables were running by a friend. Kind of an unproductive weekend, didn't get any hands in cause they were around.
Managed to put in a really good session at the bouldering gym though, so it's not all bad.

He's turning his hand into a bluff with the QQ blockers. He needs villian to fold about 48% of the time to be profitable. I don't think it's terrible, would have to run some sims to see exactly if it's profitable though. I don't really care for the call on that river, we will have a lot of one-card straights(Tens) in our range that we can call with.

Played a long day today. Feels like I got smashed in the face. Defo didn't play my best, made a few mistakes here and there. On the plus side, got to play some more 5/10 today (and ran decent there)!

Nice updates, I always find with PLO threads that they make me want to play PLO at some point but at the same time they don't. Like the swings are crazy, the PLO gods are simply something else.
