Working my way back up off the downswing. Starting to run better. Insane how my swings are in bursts of up and down. Definitely stepped up the volume lately. I feel a lot more motivated at the moment to play poker and I've stopped playing some of the other games too much. Still playing some piano for fun though and probably spend too much time browsing forums (Will have to reduce it to ~15mins/day of reading PG&C threads).

Update: Been working at my game a lot harder both on and off the tables. Volume has increased significantly since last month. I am just realizing that I have way more time than I think and was making BS excuses. Back at even-ish now pre-rakeback (not going to be playing for rakeback after these stars changes. Less focus on volume, more on quality play through less tables so I can move up. Currently playing 4-6)

thats some high variance you got there after 4000 games. do you think your beating the level and its just bad variance? I was beating 3.50 husngs for 5% ROI over 8k games (100bi over EV), but am losing 95 buyins at 7.00 (80bi under EV) over 3500 games.

I think the variance for 6-max hypers is probably higher than HUSNGs. Thing is you have to make it to the money and then play a mini HUSNG that starts at ~10-14BB for like 1/2 of the remaining prize pool and although there are definitely edges at that stack depth, they are quite small.

Definitely have an edge over the player pool from what I see happening. Thing that's hard for people to realize is that when you lose the important flips and are just card dead in the wrong spots, you can't really do much when you get it all in as a 70%+ favorite and just keep losing.

There's definitely more regs at $7 HUSNGs from the small sample I played there before and they're definitely a lot better than the $3.5s. 100bi is a ton over EV o.0.

Let's see if I can keep this going! My game has certainly gotten a ton better this week and my concentration and focus as well. Just thinking a lot more deeply about spots than before and finding it more easy do think about ranges.

Moving up to $15s now. Cashed for $150 in the TCOOP01 the otherday with the deposit bonus ticket, 5th in a 180man $3.5r for $100 and some other smaller cashes had a really solid run this week. Been a pretty sick month so far... First down $400 and now up like ~$600. Breakeven at hypers pre-RB while running a ton below EV

Up and down today. Running into a lot of setups but the games are quite soft Realized I've become kinda nitty in some spots so revising my push/call ranges again. On a side note, made a royal

Graph is getting pretty swingy. Played like 200 games today

Doing okay at the $15s. Running into hands when i'm pushing at the bubble a few coolers here and there but I'm confident I have an edge at this level given how everyone else is playing. Should reach platinum star by the end of this month. Need to play another 500 games in the next few days.

What a roller coaster month lol. Green line all the way up and down but ended up break-even at the hypers after rakeback. $15s are very swingy because of the way people play there (A lot more aggro, way more marginal +EV spots).

I'm very happy with this month as I am working a lot harder than I did in the past. Getting out of my lazy habits, working on my game a ton and not focusing too much on results.

Also hit platinumstar for the first time! We'll see how next month goes.

Another super sick downswing. This one was definitely way worse than the previous one but I can’t really control how the cards run out and what hands my opponents have/decide to call with. The best I can really do is just play my game. I have plenty of things to work on and many leaks to fix so that’s where my focus is going to be. Hypers require a pretty strong stomach.

Haven't updated in a while but haven't recovered from the DS yet. Insane variance at hypers so I've started mixing in some turbos with good success. Had to drop to $3.50s for a bit and now playing $7s again. In terms of pace I find I might actually be more suited towards turbos although when I start uni again in march it's going to be hard to get a ton of volume in.

Lol variance graph so many buyins below EV. As long as I'm still alive I can keep grinding!

Run at turbos so far. I think I've been overestimating the capability of regs at the $7 turbos so far in terms of bubble play. They just don't play back enough so I have to tighten up my stack off ranges abit.

Not busto. Still in the game. 2nd year of uni started and I have just been doing a lot of other things in life so not as much play as holidays.

The DS ended up going pretty far and I felt mentally wrecked by it so I took a bit of a break from things and then restarted. Going to try to update more but don't expect too many.

Felt pretty adventurous today so played some MTTs. Cashed for $500 in one and also got 5th in a $10.50 HU super-knockout tourney for $100! Best day so far of poker. Insane card distribution and hands holding in that one tourney + playing way better than usual. Month looking good so far.

Hit a bit of a DS after the big cashes but grinded it back up. Month so far is going quite well. Been playing around with mixing stakes at the moment to get access to a few player pools. So playing some $3.5s, $7s and $15s. I like that I have begun to automate a lot more of the basic thought processes for SNGs and can play more tables comfortably now. Main game is still 6max hypers but mixed in some 18s, 45s, turbos and some MTTs on days where I have more time to grind out a long session. ICM there is a bit different but not that hard to learn.

Had a pretty sweet run at the $30s winning every flip. Little bit of a break-even stretch. Gotta battle the regs and review my calling ranges + HU strategy. Let's see if we can beat last month! Never know what might happen but I'm much better than I was before when I was running bad. Will be comfortable with the swings.

Came 2nd in an $11 MTT (Lots some flips HU and then lost ALL-In on Flop 2nd Pair> 2nd Pair weak kicker hitting 2pair on the turn). Had to win some flips to get there but though so just variance evening out a little. So far looking to be an even better month than last with SCOOP coming up. Pretty excited.

So hit a DS at $30s after the score but managed to recover most of it back. Woke up at 6am to play the $11 HU SCOOP08 today. Got some soft draws and then had to play an annoying aggro fish to get to day 2. Managed to figure out the right exploits/adjustments and crushed him in the end.

Pretty sick call down with the A-high here. Don't block any heart draws which the fish was playing passively OOP. Much better bluff catcher than AQ/J since I don't block any combos there. Expected him to barrel off with all QJ/KQo and don't expect him to ever check flop with Tx the way he was playing.

and we have the classic valuetown hand. Had the exact same flop about ten hands back and he donked small there with 96. He will never play Ax that way (small bets seemed to be for protection). The A turn was great for me as it reduce the combos of Ax he has if any to like none and is a bad card for me to bluff on since he will call down 9x here. River was didn't look great for him but didn't think he would fold so bet large again.

Brief update. So I ended up busting that HU cashing for around $170. Had some SCOOP events + MTTs grind sessions at night which has been a fun experience though going to reserve playing those for now until the weekend. Finding the low stakes MTTs really soft but the variance in them is quite high so gotta win flips to get anywhere. Had a few deep runs but couldn’t quite get to the FT. Pretty happy with the month though the swings are a lot larger. I feel comfortable with them though knowing I have plenty of BIs to deal with the variance. I feel that I still have quite a substantial edge over the $30s and $15s regs when I’m playing a low table count (4-8). So happy to continue grinding it out and hopefully move further up the stakes this year.

Had a blast playing the SCOOP tourneys! Don’t usually play at night and it was certainly a challenge for me trying balance my sleep schedule with uni. Overall pretty good run this month. Had some deeper runs in a few events but ran up my stacks, got card dead and then coolered mostly. Maybe I’m just not good enough to get away from some hands. Can’t complain though. Had a great month and feel like my understanding of the game has improved a lot. Especially with postflop play. Previously had a lot of trouble with decision making thought processes but now I am analyzing spots much better both in game and during review.
