So before landing in Malta I thought the view from the plane was fantastic: a modest island in a monotone sand brown colour. Also seemed fairly organized from bird pov. PS messed up the airport-hotel transport a bit but I didn't mind. The driver gave us some really useful information about places to visit and how to get from one place to the other by foot/public transport.
Then we get to our hotel. I booked a classic room at the Intercontinental because it seemed decent from the reviews and pics. The Hilton is so much more expensive, more than 2x the price. We received our room and to my disappointment, it was pathetic. In the sense that a 5 star hotel can't allow itself to give out an unvacumed room with hair in the shower and dirty cushions on the balcony seats. Whatever...we complained and got our room serviced and cleaned, so all good now.
In the evening we went out for a walk and to grab dinner. The are where the hotel is...I don't really have words for it. It's a complete mess. Mix of 100 different songs from every bar at max volume, which caused me a headache after 10 mins. Maybe it's just me though. We managed to find a nice place which was a bit under street level and you didn't get any of the outside noise: Piazza Cascata. They have sushi, pasta, pizza, steaks. Everything really and decent priced.
Some pics:
This is the place I was talking about during day time
This is a view in front of the venue(I'm not the best photographer btw)
Anyways, starting day 1b today at table red 15. Only known face is Dimitar Danchev, I'll have to see about the others. 5 handed now. This will also be my rail for the investors so follow along!
