Wow, awesome thread man!! I have spent the past month+ reading the entire thing in my spare time. Thank you for allowing us to tag along in your journey. I'm a little older than you (early 30s), but am seriously considering taking the plunge into becoming a full-time poker player. Your thread has truly been an inspiration to me, as well as many others I'm sure. Keep on crushing my friend!!

PS: If I may offer advice, it would be to exhibit better pot control. Controlling the size of the pot in situations where you are unsure. Also, value-bet more. It seems sometimes you get a little too "shove-happy."

Nice I didn't know that they actually comp rooms for playing poker in Atlantic City. I figured you would need to play pit games or slots since they don't make much from poker. I know in Vegas they give you a "poker room discount" at most places if you play a certain number of hours.

I really want to complete my last mini challenge in AC. Failing is no fun.

At Revel and Borgata you can earn comps without playing anything besides poker. Yes, I've been chopping the room with other players.

I am glad my journey can inspire people. Follow your dreams, you can do anything you set your mind to!

You are right, I spaz out with draws sometimes. It can be tough to figure out when to play draws aggressively and when to play them passively. Sometimes I bloat the pot with medium strength hands when I shouldn't. I have really improved my value betting on turns and rivers recently.

The uncapped 1/2 game at Golden Nugget was pretty sick, rich lawyer dropped like $2300 playing every hand and bluffing relentlessly. I had the jesus seat on him but only made few hands vs him and won like 200.

I played a little open face chinese and insisted on playing for only $1 a point since I am a fish then proceeded to run like god. It's a fun game.

I've gone on a couple runs, haven't done any runs since Pittsburgh when I went on some runs in the snow wearing shorts and a tshirt and got some funny looks. I ran the trail that goes around the edge on the Marina district. I want to run along the boardwalk too before I go.

Do small uncapped NLHE games really play that much bigger than a ~150bb cap game? I guess my question is do people really buy in much deeper and still stack off light?

Most of the reg nits bought in for the standard 200 or 300. Lawyer bought in for 500 at a time (I made sure to have him covered) and raised 9 out of 10 hands and spewed post flop so it didn't play much different than the Borgata 2/5 500 max. It all depends on who is in the game.

I am pretty happy about getting in a decent amount of hrs. I butchered one hand where I 3b/c it off too light in a straddled pot with KQo. I also made I terrible fold with QQ when I got l/4b by a middle aged lady it was 265 to win 632, I should have taken longer with my decision.

I played some 2/4 crazy pineapple down in the poker room with friends, a few randoms and Kydd. I donked off 38 bucks. Kydd bought to whole table food which I thought was really nice. I just got owned playing open face chinese, my buddy went to fantasy land back to back so I dropped another 252. I'm such a fish. The fries I just ate were terrible, dhcg86 told me to throw that in.

Yeah good idea, I should probably stick to NLHE for now. I just ran from Atlantic Club to Revel the boardwalk seems like such a short distance when running compared to walking.

I played 10 hrs at good tables but didn't really get involved in any big pots. It looks like we are staying here for another couple weeks before roadtripping west.

In not too long I'll be back in Vegas playing at all the big rooms

I played a couple hands where I made small and medium flushes on paired boards and called on the river instead of raising not sure but probably should have raised. In one hand villain had a smaller flush, and in the other hand villain had t2p.

I am making okay progress as far as hrs go.
