Hey Man,

Great to see things turning around for you and that you're back to 2/5. Now you can really start to make some money! You rode out a long dry spell there, enjoy the upswing!

It was definitely a close spot. If I had seen villain limp premiums utg or I had a little less behind I would get it in. A little back story as to why the sb was tilted. A couple hands prior he is on the river in a three way sizable pot first to act checks he tables his hand which is like second pair 3rd to act jams for a couple hundred. v1 mucks, dealer mucks v2's hand rips the board and pushes the pot to v3. Now he wants a floor ruling as if he was considering a call. Floor says he is SOL. He puts up and fit and stalls the game for awhile. So he has been on monkey tilt and spewing.

I got in a decent session and played my A game. I won a 1k pot with aces, got a guy to stack off with K8 on K75J, raised flop, jammed turn. River- Q kind of a scary card but my hand was still good.

I am really noticing that position is much more important than pf hand strength when effective stacks are 100bb to 200bb. With 50bb it is reversed.

I am going to start another mini challenge, my goal is to play 200 hrs by the end of the month which would be a personal record for me. I will have to play a little over 90 hrs in less than 2 weeks. I don't think I will ever be in a more convenient situation than staying 5 mins from a really busy poker room.

Yep I'm very glad to get a little run good after the toughest stretch I've ever had. I am incredible grateful I have awesome friends that have my back. One of my best friends from high school let me borrow a thousand bucks which was cool. I have to thank Dgiharris and KyddDynamite for the poker advice and of course dhcg86 for helping me out with everything.

I am optimistic about the rest of the year.

Did you drive out there? What kind of mileage does your car get? I went to chicago a while ago and it took 3 days!... The games are good over there, but are they better than Vegas? What would you say is softer?

slow driver? frequent stopper?
LV to Chicago is ~24 hours driving time.
(two 12 hour days, IMO)

Pure, how long are you going to be in AC?
Back to Vegas anytime soon?

I'm contemplating heading back out that way, at least semi-permanently.
Poker house?

I got to meet another 2p2er. SABR42 came down to chill for a couple days. Really cool easy going guy.

Here is a hand I played-

I open 77 for 8, btn calls. bb 3b to 16 call call

Flop- J103
checks through

Turn- 7
bb bets 35 into 44, I raise to 105, btn thinks for a bit then goes all in, bb snap calls. 150 to me I tank and contemplate folding because I have to be behind here most of the time but still a slight possiblity of overpairs. I realize I am get 4 to 1 so I call it off and am of course shown 98 and 1010 board bricks out nh sir

SABR42 and my room mates

I don't own a car. I flew from LA to Pittsburgh, then drove with the crew to Charles Town then here. There are plenty of soft games here and in Vegas all you have to do is practice good table selection.

I have driven across the country once before. Went from Ft Bragg, NC back to the Bay Area in 2.5 days. If I was awake I was driving. Just blasting music and watching the gas tank dial go from full to emtpy. Road trips are fun.

I'll probably be in AC until we head to Vegas for WSOP. We are looking into getting a poker house together.

I don't really feel the need to grade myself every session anymore. My default is A game. I know when I make mistakes and I can put them in here to make sure I don't make the same ones over and over.

Here are a couple hands I played-

I raise KK to 25 over 1 limper, bb and limper call.

Flop- J72

I bet 50 into 77, 1 call

Turn- Q

I bet 100 into 177, villain c/r to 240, I jam for 325 he calls

River- 4

He has Q9 nh sir

---------

I overcall otb with A8

Flop- 975

checked to me I bet 25 into 82, pfr c/r to 80, other villain calls I call

Turn- 6

checked to me, I jam for 330 into 322 and I get called by second villain who has KJ

I should have bet a little bit smaller on the turn since I have 2 streets to get value from weaker hands.

Seems like a big bet OTT with the A8hh hand (even tho it is only pot sized) did you consider betting smaller and then jamming river? or was it a shove because villain had shown so much aggression on the previous street?

Also, i think i am going to steal your way of grading yourself after each session, i think its a great way to keep yourself honest

Can't believe i haven't posted ITT yet, GL!!

I took it easy the last couple days, time to close out the month strong. The plan is to play 50 hrs and hit 200 for the month which would be a personal record.

I got in one marginal spot where I stacked off with 1010 on 986, ran into quads.

I went to check out golden nugget last night, very clean poker room the only thing missing was players.

I think I could get called a little wider by betting like 140 ott and getting the rest in otr.

Flop sizing is kinda small maybe could have bet like 1/2 pot. To be honest I kind of spazzed out here when I binked it. My thinking at the time was that pfr could have a set and I wanted to deny odds to boat up but after going over the hand with my coach I realized sets are a very small part of his range and I am missing a ton of value by betting way too big. Luckly v2 had second nuts.

I got in good volume, on pace to hit my goal. I played a lot of big pots, was down a buy-in and a half took a little break to work out then went on a 3 buy-in heater.

I won the biggest pot I've ever played before iirc. Sick session overall, I definitely feel like I'm in a groove and playing in the zone. I am very fortunate to catch a little run good as I am trying to break back into 2/5.

Here is a hand I played-

6 handed I open A4 3 calls

Flop- 732
bb donks for 40, I raise to 150, he calls

Turn- K
check, check

River- 5
bb bets 200 I jam for 400 more, he calls with AK

Dude - so glad to see you starting to crush. It's just up up up now that you're playing 2/5. Nearly impossible to build a bankroll at 1/2 imo, and those games tend to play so shallow, you lose a big part of your edge as a better player.

Is the borgata 2/5 a 100bb cap or 200? Are you buying in full?
