Preflop (3):
Hero is LP dealt AJ
Hero raises to 8, V1 calls in BB.

Flop (16):
T54
V1 checks, Hero bets 10, V1 calls.

Turn (34):
Q
V1 checks, Hero bets 20, V1 folds.

I cbet HU IP almost always and I think vs most opponents this will show a profit. I get called, turn brings an over card and I pick up a gutter so I think it's right to keep barreling. I expect to get folds a lot and occasionally get called by unpaired FDs and our A high might be good at SD.
Looks good. Solid spot to double it with added equity and a scare card hitting.

What was your plan for different rivers? For starters, on a brick, any non-club 2, 6, 7? Also on a 9 or J? On a Q? K is obvious, and what about an A?

What about on a club, 3, 8?

If you bet the turn for like 50-60% pot you could also get his JJ or the rare AQ to call (AA/KK never folding either), as well as bloat the pot more for a bigger river value bet.

As played obv fine too. So what do we think he folded there? Aa/aq/jj?
I also like leading the turn here (for basically the same reasons described above ).

Vegas

RIP Hard Rock Poker Room

I've been gradually improving my hours worked, I just need to keep up the momentum and building up my work ethic.

My knee is feeling about %80 better so I am going to get back to my daily exercise routine.

All my other daily habits have been going strong.

I feel like I've been playing better more focused poker. I really need to hustle to make sure I have a decent bankroll for WSOP, hard to believe it is only a little more than a month away.

2017 Hand 2 Results:

Spoiler:
Turn and River brick, V1 shows AQ nh sir

2017 Hand 4:

1/2 NL
V1 (500)- I've been at table 2 round and havn't seen him play any big pots
Hero's Image (350)- tag

Preflop (3):
Hero is MP dealt KK
Hero raises to 8, V1 calls in LP, BTN calls, BB calls.

Flop (29):
K85
Checks to Hero who bets 10, only V1 calls.

Turn (48):
9
Hero bets 20, V1 calls.

River (88):
A
Hero bets 40, V1 raises to 130, Hero calls.

Flop is extremely dry so I bet small trying to get called light, turn completes the only possible draw but I still go for value, vbet OTR and get raised I feel like V has 76 a lot of the time, but there is the chance he has AK or a smaller set so I call given pot odds.

I probably check behind most rivers, we have a little SDV vs unpaired draws. If V called twice with a pair he is probably calling again.

Yeah I think that’s the best straight to take initiative. Leading flop gives up too much info, waiting until river is too late.

I read through this whole post over the last few days and just wanted to say GREAT JOB man. My goal is to eventually move out to LV and play professionally in the next few years and this thread has given me a lot of insight and information as to what that transition will be like and the daily activities to pursue out there aside from the grind. Poker has been one of my few real passions for most of my life so I'm about 99.99% sure I won't burn out as you seem to have done. Props on diving into your passions of art and music, keep at it man. If you continue to put your all into it regardless of the outcome financially at least you can say that you've tried to make it doing what you love.

Cheers, gl with your goals. You are absolutely right, better to try and fail than never try and always wonder "what if?"

Whatever you see is cool with me, I like leaving my abstracts open to interpretation.

I'm still playing guitar, some police are still threatening me so I guess I'll just keep playing until I can go to court and stand up for my rights. I haven't really been looking to join a band yet.

I haven't been painting too much, I really haven't been able to sell enough paintings to make a comparable hourly to playing poker or guitar. I want to do an art show after the summer wraps up. I have some new ideas I want to try too.

2017 Hand 5:

1/2 NL
V1 (500)- tight
V2 (200)- tight
V3 (73)- loose
V4 (600)- loose
Hero's Image (135)- nit

Preflop (3):
Hero is LP dealt AQ
V1 raises 5 from MP, Hero calls, V2 calls from LP, V3 3b 16 from SB, V4 calls from BB, everyone else calls.

Flop (75):
864
V3 AI 57, V4 calls, V1 folds, Hero calls, V2 folds. V4 ships dark.

Turn (246):
2
Hero calls 62 eff AI.

Preflop I think I could 3b the small open but AQs also plays well multiway so I decide to flat. Now when SB makes a small 3b we could ship over the top and try to flip with dead money, but I opted to take a flop for the cheap price. We flop NFD and overs, given the low SPR we are fine committing since we always have a decent amount of equity even if our over cards aren't clean outs.

First decision seems close IMO. A 3bet can probably fold out hands in his range we're flipping with like TT-77 by the flop with a cbet on the right textures. Flatting also has merit to keep in hands like AJ/AT/KQ/QJ.

Definitely prefer shoving over the 3bet 2nd time around with $58 (almost 1/2 effective stacks) already in the pot.

Awesome to see you still doing cool stuff

Thanks for the input, in hindsight I do the shipping over the top of the 3b and call is probably best.

Long time no see, hope your are doing well man!

2017 WSOP Day 9

2017 Hand 6:

1/3 NL
V1 (250)- tight
V2 (700)- loose
V3 (165)- loose
Hero's Image (450)- nit

Preflop (4):
Hero is BTN dealt KQ
V1 limps MP, V2 limps MP, Hero raises to 18, V3 calls from SB, V1 calls, V2 folds.

Flop (52):
QT4
V3 bets 20, V2 folds, Hero raises to 75, V3 calls.

Turn (202):
7
V3 checks, Hero bets 63, V3 calls and is AI.

KQ is strong enough to Iso preflop over a couple limps. We flop tp2k which I think dominates V3 likely tp or draws so we raise and commit. Turn brings 3 flush but with on 1/3 psb left we can easily still get called by worse so we ship wi=hen checked to.

2017 WSOP Day 10

2017 Hand 7:

1/3 NL
V1 (230)- loose
V2 (400)- tight
Hero's Image (300)- new to table haven't played a hand yet

Preflop (4):
Hero is BB dealt TT
V1 raises to 10 in MP, V2 calls in LP, Hero calls.

Flop (31):
AT6
Hero checks, V1 bets 17, V2 folds, Hero raises to 60, V1 folds.

TT is strong enough to squeeze but I don't have well defined reads so I just flat preflop. OTF I go for the c/r and I think he will stick around with strong Ax and draws.
