Game: 2NL cash 6 max. I am starting down here because I am a losing player and cannot afford to keep losing. I want to spend some money on a training site and books also.

Starting bankroll: $50 on PokerStars. I could lose all of this today and I can still pay the bills and I can deposit again next paycheck.

Short term goals:
1. Put in as many hours as possible 2 tabling. Do not even consider adding tables until I am winning something.

2. Buy the new Harrington 6 max book. I read the thread about it, apparently some good info for uNL.

3. Join a training site. So far DC is the leader but I will decide in a few days and sign up.

4. Get active on 2+2. So much free info here and many people willing to help. I do not have any poker buddies so the forums will be invaluable.

5. Do not get discouraged and do not give up.

I do not have any goals such as x dollars in x days. I would not know any realistic figures for that, besides I am not a winning player now anyway. I am going with the play my best, play a lot, and learn as much as I can approach. Let's see where that takes me.

You have a solid list, but the hardest part will be following what you have.

Good luck and keep us updated!

I know. I believe that if I work at it at least a little bit everyday then I can get somewhere in poker. For example, 4 tabling 200NL (and winning) sounds like an absolute fantasy...I would be elated if I could do that. I am really going to try.

Edit: starting bankroll $63.32

Had to do a short session tonight. Making out a schedule and looks like Tuesdays and/or Thursdays will be no poker days or just a little studying. I think the most difficult thing will be balancing the non-poker stuff and keeping the GF happy while still putting in time on the virtual felt.

Bankroll: $64.43

I agree, you certainly have to seem the right approach for it.

Just take it slow and focus on the learning, and you'll be winning in no time.

Thank you.

I have a pretty good prospective on this poker challenge. I have quit some other endeavors in my life just as I was about to turn the corner and quite possibly see some real success. I know that poker is similar...hard work over time and a little good fortune along the way.

As I mentioned previously, no poker tonight (full-time day job + live-in GF + rambunctious dog). I plan on a 3 hour session tomorrow night and this weekend I will nail down the training site membership.

I have to organize my time better to get more hands in during the week. My computer was lagging tonight also, very frustrating, I need a new one.

I had zero playable hands for a while so I just folded and folded.

Bankroll: $72.98

Played a few hands while my GF was cooking dinner. I know my amount of hands is pathetic. I am working on a clearly defined schedule that will free up more time because I don't have any to waste.

Bankroll: $74.26
